Hi, everyone. Enjoying hearing about your days.
No, Mystery, there won't be a well deserved meal yet. I brought the jello, juice and electrolyte water, so have had some of each. Nurse made some broth they had here in small packets.
Felt too dizzy for a while from reaction, but got over it. Looks like we will be here until 3.
. I'd like to get a little nap when we get home if I have a chance. The evening will be prep.

No Thanksgiving holiday over here, but I'm hoping to finish decluttering/ deep cleaning the bedroom by the end of this month, which is when I really need to start Christmas prep. Tomorrow is supposed to be wet, so ideal for doing jobs round the house... if I can get motivated!

Re: Thursday Two Weeks before Thanksgiving PWYC
hi i've been in the hospital today- I feel great but had a problem w my eyesight and hot flashes - I had a crescent shaped blurriness in my right eye - I was hungry and ate and it disappeared like 15 minutes later. it felt like something wasn't right so I went in. The hospital wanted to be sure and gave me a cat scan to rule what caused it. no stroke or aneurism - yay! they want me to see an ophthalmologist tomorrow - and call an an endocrinologist bc I have a module on my thyroid. I have had two other biopsies for my thyroid but not for a long time - maybe 20 years ago. I will look at it as a good thing - to find it is better than not finding it!
I met a lot of nice people at the hospital - friendly staff! I spent the afternoon watching star talk - Actually relaxing bc I felt so good.

Wow, hope all is okay, bw2! Scary eyesight issues.
The roomba never finished on the screened porch so it's running again now. I don't know if it will get done with what battery it has done, but whatever. Dh has gone to bowl tonight.
I am going to the library in Knoxville tomorrow. I'll have to drive home tomorrow night. Next week dh's niece and her family will be in a vacation type town near here so he wants to see her - I thought I had a pass but I think he wants me to go also. So I can't put off going to Knoxville, even tho tomorrow is not optimal. I'm sure I'll get my second wind when I get into research. I'm printing off what I need to have with me. And I need to do a little PUPA tonight. Going to try to leave around 7 - won't need to s2s, did so this afternoon. Also laying out my stuff to take.

Re: Thursday Two Weeks before Thanksgiving PWYC
Hi again, everyone.
((blessed)) how grateful I am for you - to hear it disappeared. Happy you are resting and that you will follow up and see what specialists say. Remember, thyroid is, in general, such a self-contained organ that pros don't worry as much about it as they do other organs, and nodules are almost the norm, just good to check out.
Have a confident trip, Twins'. Enjoy that second wind!
Upon getting home - later than we thought although HRH was clever in finding routes around traffic clogs - I fell into nap on the bed without pulling covers up. I roused enough at some point to snuggle under. Awakened to the alarm he had set, thank goodness. Started prep stuff.
The cards had arrived. Happily, they will work with the envelopes well. Dd27's wrapping paper was in the box and correct, too, and I've put it into a separate bag for her - sophisticated in mostly gold and beige, so maybe I can find a couple bows in my stash that work with it, so that it's not completely on her to find things. She is so wildly busy. I just happened to notice this paper as I browsed - a favorite nutcracker motif of hers.
Evidently, I ordered post-it lined note pads, about twice the size of the usual post-it. Had totally forgotten that I did that.
Start my day tomorrow at 4 a.m. Prediction from nurse that we could be on the way home at 10 but that sounds optimistic to me. i know I will surely be starving and in need of breakfast and home for rest, yet selfishly thinking it could be closer to lunch so a nice-ish restaurant might tempt HRH. Hmmm ... .. will hunger or romance win out? lol Ya'll have a wonderful Friday morning if I don't see you until later.

Re: Thursday Two Weeks before Thanksgiving PWYC
Hi! Dh got up not long after I got up this morning. I had just taken out the compost and recycling. Coffee and hot chocolate were enjoyed together as usual.
I left here around 10:30ish and took a trunk load to the thrift store. I donated a lot of yarn and a lot of books (all duplicates) I think there was a box of odds and ends from around the house as well.
We went out for Italian last night and their Wednesday night special is that if you order pasta, you get a free order to take home. That took care of tonight's meal making decision. Dh and I have already decided that we are having soup and sandwiches tomorrow night.
I unloaded the dishwasher this afternoon and refilled it. I also had a nice hot shower.
Kittykat we have already had Thanksgiving in Canada, but now we are heading into "Black Friday" deals to compete with American sales just south of the border. My email inbox has been full of deals, including travel deals to Cuba and lots of cruises. I have to delete all of these emails a couple of times a day. Very overwhelming and there are still 2 weeks left before Black Friday. (Black Friday is a great day to shop if you are actually looking for deals.)

Re: Thursday Two Weeks before Thanksgiving PWYC
This week has just been crazy... I thought I'd have free time after the kids went back to school Wednesday, but then dgd got sick and spent all day Wednesday, Wednesday night, and all day today. I'll pick them up at school tomorrow afternoon, and then I'll have my usual weekend with them alternating Friday/Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
And, as y'all can probably guess, I have been lazy. Sleep deprived and lazy.
DGD did help me clean the guest bathroom today.
I added some Thanksgiving items to my Wmart list. (Things that are not time-sensitive.)
-- I am going to have to go inside Wmart soon -- I need Christmas cards and wrapping paper, things I want to actually see before I buy. Plus I'll need to buy chicken, celery, and onions before Thanksgiving. I will be hosting Thanksgiving, ddil and her parents and brother provide most of the food. I will make chicken and dressing, and provide rolls, and whatever else ddil wants me to do. At most there will be 12 of us, more likely will be 9.)
Sent the teacher group message for next week, and contacted my friend that I eat lunch with -- to set up a time for next week.
* Friend is in NC right now and touring the Biltmore tomorrow.
I told her I was envious!
There's another group from our town that is on a bus trip to Key West. A couple of widows approximately my age are on that trip -- saw pictures on FB.
There's a part of me that would love to do some of these trips... and a part of me that panics -- out of fear that if I sign up for a trip like that, I would have a panic attack or anxiety attack (with the accompanying nausea.) That is so ridiculous -- literally the fear of fear itself. Of course, I'm sure they aren't taking these trips for free, LOL, so I would really be making a splurge if I were to take a big trip like that.
I had lasagna for supper, Cathy -- Stouffer's, of course, but in the pasta family.
I also deleted a lot of emails -- I have to really stay after it. And as I shop online, they keep multiplying.
I did kinda splurge on myself yesterday, ordered an expensive (for me!) curling iron. L'ange brand -- usually sells for around $90-$100 and was on sale for about 60% off. I also bought a book about the Biltmore. Talking to Dfriend made me decide to at least travel there from my couch.
Also ordered Christmas ornaments for dgrands -- volleyball for her, football for him.
I also showered just now (11:00 pm) so maybe I can get tomorrow started in a better way. Getting d2s in clean clothes (and a slight bit of make-up) really makes a difference in how I manage the rest of the day. I KNOW this is true, I just can't seem to make it a habit.
Blessed, I will be praying that the thyroid and eyesight problems are easily taken care of!
Have a good trip, Twins!
Saying a prayer for you, Harriet, that all goes well tomorrow! (Today, I mean -- it's already Friday now!)
Good night to all! At least I will get to sleep a little later tomorrow. DGD is a human alarm clock and she gets me up a lot earlier than I want!

Re: Thursday Two Weeks before Thanksgiving PWYC
Harriet, praying for you today that the test goes smoothly and you're on your way back home again quickly.
Cathy, we have Black Friday here too (or rather Black Friday Month!
) In the old days, fights used to break out over reduced TVs
but now more and more of it is online. I have had some good deals in the past with things I actually *needed* , so just put them in my basket and waited to see if the price went down. Currently we could really do with a new freezer, it's nearly 25 years old, is getting very frosted up (possibly the door seals? Or another reason?) But I'm checking the temperature regularly, and that's still ok. So I e picked out the freezer I would like (it has to fit in the space available, and this time I'm insisting on a frost free model, as it's me that has to clean it out! ) And I've put it in a basket in three online stores. So far it hasn't been reduced in price, but there's still time!
LucyLee, I understand the anxiety associated with a big trip. Could you break yourself in gently and perhaps try some day trips? Over here, coach trips to stately homes / gardens of interest are very popular, and they usually include lunch / afternoon tea, before driving back home again. Oh, and there's usually a visit to the gift shop, which is the highlight for some folk, but IMHO they are usually somewhat overpriced!
