Well, at least you're getting some things done, trissie. Did you work on the research project?
Kitty, WTG on the kitty pampering session. I dread dh retiring. He has a lot of energy! Last time he had some time at home, he reorganized and decluttered the kitchen. I had to salvage some decluttered items that I use, and I quietly move some items back in my preferred spot after he was finished. LOL! I don't see him retiring any time soon, though. He's very motivated by his projects, and would like to see the technical developments through -- if they're even possible. He's also involved in a number of start up companies.
Enjoy your walk, L Ann! Ideally, I'd like to scrub the tile in our shower today.

Well, I need to be otd in 8 minutes. . . I've already s2sed and squeegeed and wiped down the shower and reclaimed the kitchen.

It is another sunny fall day!! The high is forecast to reach 58F!! 8-)

Today: I'm meeting AC and DE from payroll at a coffee shop on campus in 25 minutes. . .I need to stop by the school and write a good bye note for a student who is leaving. I'll be back at the school to "teach" my last class 1:30 - 3:30. Then, the rest of the day will be about getting ready to host the Gs and the Rs and then hosting 6:30 onwards. We all get together for dinner every couple of months. The Gs and the Rs both have much newer and more put together homes than we do, so I feel a little pressured, though dh would say it doesn't matter. We have a kind of lived in professor-y kind of house, an older house (built in 1955 - we actually prefer the character of older homes to subdivision-y homes) with huge trees in an established neighborhood with too many books for our bookshelves. LOL!

Next:
- brush and floss
- 9:30 - 10:30ish? coffee with AC and DE
- payroll: write good bye note for S

Later:
- back exercises

- gather games; otd to payroll by 1:20
- 1:30 - 3:30 ish teach AIAS D14
- call back window washer dude
- call optometry?
- make: cornbread, white chicken chili, rice,
- set the table for 6
- 6:30 - ? host Rs and Gs for dinner (they're bringing dishes to share as well)
- after dinner clean up
- update health apps
- duolingo
- payroll: end of session tasks
- payroll: curriculum review

TaDas!
- up; weighed self - same at higher point
- s2s and self care
- squeegeed and wiped down shower

Good morning!
Gma ~ There was a lot of thank you notes to be done here. I can't imagine how many you have. I'm assuming siblings will help? That's pretty awesome that the house and cabin things were caught early. We probably should do that for the townhouse here when we start spending more time in NC. We do have an alarm on the NC electricity. From your experience, sounds like we should ramp it up. Would you mind sharing the brand name of your system?
Dogged ~ glad you had such a good friend day.
trissie ~ Lovie Dovie back to you! Good luck on your quest to find something fun for you! Sounds like a fun weekend coming up.
kitty ~ those retirement partners take up a lot of brain space. He seems like he has several outside interests already. Maybe that will expand.
L.Ann ~ how's the recuperation going?
helian ~ I love the sound of your house - plus, I think you have a fireplace to go with your professor-y ambience?

Early morning stuff is done. Was going to get right to the gym, but decided to do house stuff first.
Off to flybys!

I feel pretty good Smile*Lee. DD39 is determined that if the doctor says I shouldn’t drive for 2 weeks that is how long I need to wait. I will be carless the beginning of the week anyway. I got bumped by a large pickup truck that was changing lanes two weeks ago and DD39’s DH is taking the car on Monday to his shop to get the dent in the panel by my front tire fixed. My general theory on bathroom cleansers is apply and than ignore for at least an hour, Trissie. Looks like you have another busy day, helian.

L. Ann ~ Nice that the healing is coming along so well. Yes.. listen to doctors. Hard for us "doers" to do that sometimes. Sounds like "the bump" could've been worse. Was anyone in the car with you?

still working on quick spiff aka morning dailies.....

helia, DH mentioned that he was looking forward to maybe learning car repairs in retirement - you know, the "take an old car apart and hope you'll somehow make it work again" kind! Funny that this comes from a guy whose parents never had a car and lived in a condo apartment! And no, the IDD report did not get any of my attention! :-)
Smile*Lee, I don't know - at the cottage, I do all the cooking and cleaning like at home, but in far less comfortable conditions :-) But there will be board games - DH got Witcher board game for his birthday that we never played, and we have Dune that we only tried with friends but never on our own.
oh my, L.Ann, car bumps are scary! Glad you were not hurt.

trissie ~ ikwym ~ we did a "vacation home" once it was WAY more work than just being at home. Suggesting you try to pack already prepped food seems like an additional task load onto your already packed schedule. I do hope you get some down time for yourself.

Good morning, all. Yes, I am vertical while it is still morning where I am.

Thank you for starting us off, trissie. You have my full sympathy, having to deal with bugs in the panty on the day that you are getting ready to go away. I can't imagine it. Years ago, and I mean decades ago, I had an issue with weevils brought into the house with some grocery item. It took me a long time to get rid of them completely, as I didn't find one of their food sources (kibble hidden behind furniture by some enterprising dog) for some time. To this day, I store almost all of the starchy foods in canisters or in insect-proof dog food containers. The idea being that if I bring home bugs from the store again, the outbreak will be contained to one plastic container. That way, I would only lose the contents of one container, and I won't be guilty of spreading bugs in the apartment complex.

Thank you, Kittykatt.
You really are in the perfect location. You get the warm winds giving you a more temperate climate than we have further south than you, but the Atlantic Ocean is cool enough to cool the engines of hurricanes on their way to you.
I see grey sky and snow coming down. It's interesting because this is more like the weather of my youth. For the past number of years, winter has barely started until January. In winter where I live, grey sky is good news. Blue sky means that it's going to be COLD. Grey sky means within 10-15 degrees of freezing.

Good morning, L.Ann. I'm glad that you were not hurt when your car got bumped.

Have a good time at coffee, helia.

Thank you, Smile*Lee. WTG on getting morning stuff done.

Dementia Dog's latest wrinkle is doing her business in the kitchen. I am not a fan.

Re: ty notes. I first ordered 100. Yesterday I picked up another 80. We are sending to all who sent cards, not just who sent money, food, or flowers. Plus those who worked at the funeral. And I have a list of those who visited during hospice care too. Some overlap, like the woman who brought 2 meals, visited, sent flowers and money. Very generous!
Mother was well known and well loved. For her 100 birthday, there were over 200!
