Good morning

Today marks the end of Thanksgiving break, and tomorrow it’s back to the usual dual school schedule. DD14 has a packed week ahead with five appointments. Hopefully, our little introvert will manage the extra people time well. She did spend several hours with friends over the weekend, so maybe social interactions are becoming something she’s more comfortable with. ANYway - since DD14 has 5 appointments this week....that means "I" have 5 appointments. My out-of-the-house time this week is going to be a rude change from the slower pace I enjoyed over the break.

There are other priorities this week too...
** Decision on house insurance. Are there better alternatives than paying more than double what we paid before? If I don't make a change then the amount will be auto withdrawn on Wednesday. That gives me 2 days to research and make a decision.
** Health insurance sent notice that our data was compromised. I need to sign the 4 of us up for additional identity security monitoring.

In the never-ending need to feed teenagers....
** Instant pot filled with potatoes
** make requested SOS (gravy with meat)
** Breakfast cupcakes

I'm thinking LucyL. a gift "card" so they can pick out what they need later on or check or cash.
Just say I hate to shop LOL!

Also got to add a list of 5 things I wish I'd done in my teens and see what you could do now in that area.
Five things I'd like to learn.
And some new things to do.
What I"d like less of in my life right now.
Books / Movies I liked or would like.
Enjoy your journaling assignment!
You can do one a day or five a day.

I've slept in and have re-dated pages on my new journal 9it was marked down b/c of the out dated parts0.
I can still use those pages for writing I give myself assignments too.

I'm working on the empty nest years now for my legacy journaling.
Things like funny stories adventures.
I'll do sections in it has grayed parts for time blocking; I"ll put write in journals; knit 8 short rows; crochet 5 rows; other.

Was able to talk to a gal about knitting sock and how I practiced the techniques
for toe and heels on puppets only had to do one!
I'm still researching yarns for that had hobby Lob. is closed today.
I washed one pan after dinner.
Enjoyed listening to authors being interviewed.

I need to s2s.

Continuing on with trying to get the plates spinning again.
** Paid DD14 for the A's on her report card. 4 of her 7 classes had 99 or 100 score. She had a B (87) in one of her classes. She said it was in protest of the one teacher that she detests because he has never taught a single time. I am fairly sure intentionally not turning in papers in protest doesn't accomplishes anything other than make her feel like she is making a statement in her own way. I try to pick my battles, and this is not one that I am picking. I don't care if she makes a B in one of her classes.
** Put $100 with note "DD14 name lunch money" in Ziplock baggie. I will drop it off at the admin office in the morning. That should cover her meals until after Christmas break. I have a card that reminds me to look at credit amount and pay for her school meals every 60 days.

The girlfriend returned home after a week-long visit to her grandparents. Both she and DS17 are grinning from ear to ear, thrilled to be reunited and celebrating their 10-month anniversary. We are back to having 3 teens in the house again.

I just dropped DD14 off downtown to spend time with her 2 friends. It is barely above freezing but they don't seem to care.

I got the inside-the-house lights up in the bedroom window. They are behind the window blinds, so it looks like they are outside. I've plugged them in and they look good.

Dh has been watching football and snacking (he had an apple) and nodding off on occasion. I have been reading and skimming through FBook. Trying not to do too much. I admit that laundry is happening. Two tiny loads and the bedsheets. Towels were in one of the tiny loads. The first load had 2 pairs of pants, one top and a pair of socks. That stuff is all away. Load in the dryer is one cream coloured sweatshirt, 2 pale blue towels and 2 facecloths. The sweatshirt has never been washed before and I felt it would get cream coloured fluff all over the dark pants so I split the load. Bedsheets are just finishing off in the washer.

I need to empty the dishwasher. No rush.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

I love the peacefulness of not having to go out today. Dh is going to Costco, of all places. I'm heading downstairs to walk the dog next. Geeze, 42 degrees!

37* no wind & I wore my denim vest under a hoodie it was perfect for our rather cool walk.
Had lunch before made myself a nice Sunday dinner meat loaf, green beans tomato & donut.
and before that I raked 3 piles of leaves bagged one up.
Have been doing rounds to the basement for items for steps fetching Dec. decor items as I did that.
I did my quota on knitting and crocheting items.

Waving to everyone.

The sun was going down so I wanted to get DD14 before it got dark. She didn't answer my phone call, but I could see where she was on Life360. When I arrived at the park I found DD14 and 2 friends dancing in the gazebo following the dance steps being shown on utube they had playing. It is 33F which feels COLD to me but the 3 teens were loving it. DD14 had taken her coat off and tossed it onto a picnic table. Ohhhh to be young again and just enjoying life.

Tomorrow night is DD14 much anticipated BFDIA 23 show in the big city. DD49 volunteered to take her.

DH is at elder meeting. I love seeing him able to do normal things.

It’s 36 degrees here, but it’s going down to the 20s tonight. Brrrr. I took the garbage to the road as soon as I got in from church. I ate Thanksgiving leftovers for supper and I am glad I don’t need to go out again!

Ddil has Covid. I took Dgd home anyway. I think Dgd was getting pretty tired of me. I think this is the first time I have been alone since Friday the 21st! I’m watching the Audie Murphy story, To Hell and Back.
No more decorating but I’m fine with just the tree for now.

Re: the bzby shower — I’ll probably get a Little Golden Book and a small box of diapers, and something little from the registry… it just seems like a lot of “instructions,” and I guess I react the same way I did to the wedding invitation that had so many instructions.
Tomorrow is another day.
