Well, every day is full of things that have been running around in my head for a few days.
One being the need to paint/stain patio and porch furniture. However, since it has turned so cold, I am eliminating that from my weekly to do list.
And today, I did not get any of the anti-procrastination stuff done -- I went to the chair yoga class at 10:00 a.m., came home and curled up on the couch, talked to dmom on the phone, talked myself out of going to a funeral visitation, napped, talked to DS, went to Bible study, and came back home. I did take dgrands to and from Bible study also, because ddil is still recovering from Covid and DS stayed home with her.
BUT... the night is young, y'all know.
I've been clearing out emails and looking for Christmas gift ideas, and I did a load of laundry. Right now I'm watching AU and NC State. (Harriet, forgive me, I can never remember which team y'all cheer for! The second half just started, and AU is 11 point ahead. Make that 8.)
Up at 3:15, Nancy??? Oh. My. Goodness. Well, actually, I was up at 3:15 too -- but I went to sleep shortly after and stayed snug under the covers till 9:00 a.m. Looks like you had a LOT accomplished by then!
I was certainly sleeping good at 5:10, blessed.
Twins, I do appreciate you getting us off to a good start, as you said, a positive thought to start the day.
Good for you, getting the tree up, Cathy! I did not know BK was headquartered in Canada. I always learn things when I am here! Dgrands usually ask for McD's but I am currently hooked on the S*nic Double Smasher with Bacon, on a Pretzel Bun. However, tonight I ate chicken nuggets at church supper.
I just downloaded a Kindle book on my phone, and I am trying to read a regular book -- the latest one of the Jan Karon
Mitford series, and I still have quite a stack beside my bed that is part of my "to be read" stack. Plus a bunch of magazines that have piled up. I have got to find a way to regulate my phone time -- waaay too much Facebook and game time wasted there.
Our lead is now only 2 points, Harriet. DGS might try that Grinch meal. He has -- on at least one occasion -- eaten THREE Big Mac's. Not tonight though, he only ate a donut and some of my French fries at church. I certainly hope he is not coming down with Covid -- ddil tested him and he was negative, but he sat at the table beside one of the ladies in my class and I told them ddil was recovering. Now of course, I'm thinking all the ladies will come down with Covid and blame us. I think dgs was just tired, though. He had fallen asleep after school and DS had to wake him up when I got there to take them to church. But maybe he was tired because he's sick? I'll try not to overthink it. (These fries were from a local restaurant, Cathy, but I do love McD's fries. My absolute favorite fries are from Freddy's though.)
LadyM, I'll probably never be ahead of schedule in my life, but I would like to try the tickler folders also.
* Mystery * I don't understand the part about the pathway spreadsheet either. Maybe she'll explain it to us later.
I also need to put the NokBox folder together and get that organized.
And all my cards for today are still just lying there all in a row, undone.
Mystery -- that is a good thing for me to remember -- Exercise is more than you're doing right now.
Oh, (((LadyM))) -- you haven't reconciled the checkbook since 2019? Maybe you'll be lucky like me and find a mysterious $400 bonus!
I let ours go about 3 months once, couldn't make the statement and checkbook balance, and y'all can imagine -- Sheldon could barely stand it until I had it correct to the penny. I actually went to the bank and sat down with a sweet older lady in bookkeeping who went through the whole three months with me till we had it right. I don't know what he'd think about this ten months of extra in our favor. But now, the bookkeeping department is in the main bank about 40 miles away and I don't know any of the ladies who work there. I did call, you know, and a nice young lady went through the deposits with me, and we could not find anything. I check my math with a calculator as I go along, and I write all my transactions using the debit card just like I would if I were writing checks -- I just don't know how I could make an error that would cause the bank to be this much ahead of me!
I also look at the bank app pretty regularly to make sure I haven't forgotten something, Twins. This is just the strangest thing that has ever happened to me re: the checking account.
Same, LadyM, same here:
School and business closings are already being announced for tomorrow, with the possibility of 1-2 inches of snow on the way. It’s funny—if a tornado is coming, locals grab a lawn chair to watch it, but just an inch of snow sends everyone rushing to stay home.
Of course, first we all rush to the grocery store for bread and milk as if we're going to be snowed in for the rest of the season! (Not me though -- I rush to make sure I had plenty of diet coke and snacks!)
It's not predicted here yet -- it's just COLD. 28 tonight, then "up" in the 30s until Monday, when we're back to 25. There is a 50% chance of rain tomorrow, but it should be above freezing all day and night by then.
I turned my heat up to 73, but I still feel kinda cold in the house.
We're back to 9 points ahead, Harriet. Almost 6 minutes to go, so this could go either way.
