I used to be the slice and bake cookie queen!
I luv mincemeat / no longer on my eating plan but mom used to make
cookies with the kind you get at the store in a box, she put it in a basic dough for ch. chip cookies;
or sugar cookies I for get what when used; made filled ones too. Or the one you use a thumb print in that
space. Such good memories. My sis said mom would chase her out of the kitchen I guess I got to
watch and or help more b/c of my 4-h cooking project.

-----
I've vacuumed the living room.
Answered q's from my work shop and got them on a separate page for later use.
had lunch / still raining out.
No one came to pick up those donations.
No package today tomorrow but I've learned to not hold my breath ol!
I have flip laundry again.
mopped yea!
----
knit a bit x
next crochet on my ME projects.

I think it's smile*lee's bday today Have a happy day!

Hey, all! Looks like the joint was jumping around here all weekend, but I have not fully CUOPed.

Oh, Rose! This is a pretty major change for you. (((Rose and Sweetie))) It's one thing to know it's coming, but when it comes....

My weekend was busy -- the early part of Saturday was making white chocolate Chex mix for girls' night, then going out to get my gift for the exchange because I had forgotten it until somebody mentioned not being able to come at the last minute and needing to drop off their gift. Yikes! Fortunately, we had agreed on an ornament exchange this year, and I had drawn my best friend K, so I had a good idea of what I was going to get -- I just had to actually go out and get it. Girls' night was fun -- this month's activity was to make bingo cards for 2026 -- of things we'd like to do, not so we could say when something outrageous happens, "That wasn't on my bingo card!" We had a yummy vegetable stew, buttermilk biscuits, ramen salad, a lovely apple pecan cake (that was barely cake, there were so many apples in it!), my Chex mix, and our choice of hot beverages or cider (not hard, but there were a variety of kinds of alcohol to spike it with).

Yesterday, we went to see the new Benoit Blanc (Knives Out) movie -- Wake Up, Dead Man. It was a fun watch, and then we went out for dinner afterwards. Before the movie, we got our tree up to shake out. DH is of two minds about getting it lit this evening. He had a physically taxing day at work -- had to deliver schedules to every homeroom teacher. Their campus is fairly large, and the main building has six floors, so he got a lot of walking and a lot of steps in.

Today was kind of disjointed -- I had to take DC in to school, but then before I had to take DD to work and pick up DC, DC texted to say they were going to take the bus to their girlfriend's, since their final in their T/Th class is on Thursday, so they have no class tomorrow. I reminded them that they do have a hair appointment tomorrow. (So at this point, I don't know whether they're coming home for dinner, or later, or I'll pick them up tomorrow morning before the appointment. ) I couldn't do much once I got back from dropping DD, since I had an appointment with the psychiatrist re the ADD meds. For now, at least, we've settled on the Concerta, so I won't have to see him again for a few months. I'm sure he could use a rest from me! He's disappointed that we couldn't find something that works better for me than the Concerta, which does have some benefits but hasn't exactly knocked my socks off. Getting sidetracked less often is still a benefit, and, as he pointed out, one byproduct of this process is that we got me in with a cardiologist.

I have to go to church this evening -- it's a day of obligation. Most of the time, when one of the days of obligation falls on a Saturday or a Monday, the obligation is dispensed, but not for this one for whatever reason. Ah, well. It's getting dark here, and there are still things to do, so I'd better get doing!

Home from another great workout -reminding myself that even getting in one a week is still better than last year, when this gym was closed so they could locations. I went by the post office after to p/u HOA mail. Wow, was it busy! I'm glad the only business I was was checking the box.

Started to go on to Staples for that return but maybe I'll get to that tomorrow. I have time now to try to hit those last two things on my list of three for today. Dh is checking in with dfriend from down the street - her dh is away and he's asking whether she wants to come by for a drink with us.

I started the Roomba before I went to workout. It's recharging itself now, somehow I was thinking that dh was out this p.m. so it wouldn't bother him. If it's a pain to listen to I'll stop it later. I also need to wash our bath towels. The dryer is empty, so I'm going to throw them in the washer, can move them over, and have them up again by morning!

So right now:
-towels in washer
-do HOA stuff, that may be the least of the evils?
-feed the dog

Done with those three.

-dissemble 1/2 ball of pretend greenery that was go to in a planter by the front door
-fold the load of laundry that was in the dryer Surprise!
-heat and wipe down the iron skillet I used yesterday, I have a terrible time keeping it seasoned.

need to develop list for tomorrow and that's it. Soup is beginning to heat up.

Went to look at Carhartt hoodies for dh this afternoon. I didn't feel like paying $125. for something he doesn't truly need.

I got home before dh got back from his "running around", so I had some delightful quiet time to myself. It ended up being less than 10 minutes. Sometimes you have to grab it when you can. Like right now dh is snoozing in front of the TV, I'll take this moment of peace as well. (as in, he's not grumbling at the newscast.)

Not long after that...

Dishwasher is loaded and turned on. Dryer is also doing a wrinkle free cycle. I've also done most of the pots/pans/large utensils.

I feel like I got a lot done today.

"That wasn't on my bingo card!"
Sounds like a fun game.

DS17 and GF brought home a beautiful full grown pit bull dog that was given to them. They were sad when I instructed them to return it. I just went through home insurance process and they will not insure us if we have one of their banned breeds of dog.

Christmas tree decision - neither of the teens want a Christmas tree so I'm not going to pursue getting one. The house is decorated for Christmas with lights, table clothes, poinsettias, Christmas quilt wall hanging, stocking, Santa hats, garland, jingle bells, porcelain manger scene and two advent countdowns. I might do a little more decorating tomorrow, but most of it is done.

3 blessings from today -
** DH had a good mental day. He slept well, was able to write the check for water bill (I did have to tell him what day/month/year it is) and he spent an hour at local coffee shop visiting with 3 lifelong friends.
** a 3' by 5' area was decluttered in the garage
** enjoyed using the fire pit
