I love to look in and see what’s happening in the village!

We went out to see dd’s workplace, won’t say this am because it was nearly noon by then. Walked about a mile. It’s hard for Dh to understand I only have so much in me. The synagogue is beautiful. I sat in the pew and said the shekeyanu (sp) blessing thanking god that we have reached this “season.” There is a museum as well, so she gave us a tour. Part of her job is supporting the program training docents. After, several blocks to Frick museum which I enjoyed very much. Unfortunately when I was giving out dh indicated we had,t seen the exhibit he wanted to see but it was only three rooms so we did that and took a cab back towards go to Bryant park, which has a winter festival of unique shopping booths. Took a very long time in cab by then we were hungry so skipped Bryant park for now, ate, and walked back to hotel.

We have dinner reservations in an hour, lol, and theatre at 7:30. Both are close by, thank goodness.

That is a beautiful museum, Twins. I bet you could spend DAYS and not see it all. And Bryant Park looks like so much fun. HOWEVER -- nothing is fun when you're running on empty. I totally understand what you're saying. I haven't looked at MO yet.

Y'all, I am so embarrassed to tell this, but when I woke up this morning I thought it was about 10:00 a.m. Got up to go to the bathroom, and it was 10 minutes till 2:00 pm!!! I didn't feel really well last night, and I guess I just needed the sleep. I think I slept about 12 hours.
Since then, I have talked to DS, walked for 20 minutes, and eaten breakfast
I've got to get a shower and wash my hair, and go to the post office. I told DS, if I didn't have a post office box, I might stay in bed for 3 weeks. I felt really bad and embarrassed about this, and still do, but I have read multiple things that talk about the exhaustion of grief -- the mental exhaustion of suddenly being the only one to make all the decisions and be responsible for all the things, after always having someone else to help with those things. So I try to tell myself that as long as I'm keeping all the bills paid and meeting regular responsibilities, then if I need a do-nothing day now and then, that's okay.

I haven't talked to dmom about Waffle House Christmas. (Bill Anderson has a song by that name, BTW. That may be why ddil wants to give it a try, LOL.)

I am so impressed, Mystery, by your weight progress and I hope LadyM's DD has a good experience with her nutritionist. I need to think about "incremental" changes because I know I cannot stick to a diet!
I am trying to have fish/seafood at least once a week, and maybe a salad once a week. Last night I ate at church (BBQ pork sandwich) and the night before, I had grilled shrimp and a baked potato. I think I will get a grilled chicken or pork salad tonight. (IF I ever get s2s!)

blessed, I'm sorry your mom is having a bad day. If your mom enjoys the decorations, I"d leave them up as long as she likes! My mom's tree has been up over a year now. DS thinks we should leave them up till Epiphany, but I think I will take mine down on New Year's Day. At least that is the plan now. If I leave it up too long, I get really tired of it and then it's harder for me to find the energy to take it down. That is partly the reason my mom's has been up so long -- she needs me to help take it down, and I just haven't been there to do it for her. OTOH, she really enjoys the lights, especially on those cold January and February nights, so I think it's cheerful for her. She does have a screen she can put in front of it, and I think she did a year or so ago.
But this past year, it's just been sitting there like Elvis' song came true: "Why Can't Every Day Be LIke Christmas?" At her house, it can.


So glad you found your dh a sweatshirt, Cathy! My DGS loves those half-zip sweaters and sweatshirts. He wears one to school just about every day. (He has a couple that he alternates, I hope! I worry that they don't get washed often enough, but he wears it over a t-shirt, so maybe he does okay.) I'm going to look for another one to finish out his Christmas presents.
Glad you got your frying pans and toilet seat! AND I'm glad they are not your presents!

Nancy, enjoy your writing! My dmom also likes to go to Wmart as soon as they open. (I'm more like getting there right before they close!)

Had a great visit with dsis today we were both talking about how great it is to have less these days on our calendar.
Fewer holiday to do's as the family is no longer exchanging gifts.
She is really enjoying doing cards this year me not-so- many. LOL! Different strokes.

I had fun stocking up on pens today and got some sticky notes was nearly out.
I don't use a lot but they are handy for some things in my planners got some bigger list ones nearly
the size of a recipe card for that, and other a bit smaller for diff. life pie focus areas.
Now that I have fewer categories it is easier for goal setting too with 4 instead of six or 8 of those too.

I did find a book with lines to write in helping over thinkers decide or something like that.
Thought it might help me for some writing decisions.
I had a break through in writing that scene I had not for a couple yrs. on that project!
So yea!

One other one too finding the yarn for socks!

Also...
Got a mini reward individually wraps sweet.
And some little smokies for the Holidays Chriamas and NYE.
So glad that was on my list. I've been trying diff. kinds of cheese it's good to have new things to try.
Even at my age.
Learned something new tried Notion for some notes on the 12 week year for writers plan.
Doing an outline on paper is easier just saying.

Thinking of you all I've had a great day today and am feeling better each day as my body is healing
muscles and tendons are better and better now!

Very busy day. Wish I could post it everyone, so interesting.

** teamed up with DH to trim & load a trailer with limbs from trees and shrubs. It felt wonderful to work outside because the weather was absolutely beautiful with bright sunshine, minimum wind and 70F.
**The perfect blend of soy sauce, maple syrup, sesame oil, and rice vinegar made the Korean beef dish incredibly tasty.
** Painting the tips of my fingernails instead of the whole nail results in easier care while achieving the coverage I need.
