The 2025 school year is officially over—thank goodness! Now it’s time to kick off a 17-day Christmas break. *Big sigh of relief*
I've stayed busy this morning doing normal daily doings while following my hourly pathways. 139 cards completed.
Wearing a knee brace is making a tremendous difference in my hip pain. It makes no sense to me but i guess they are connected. As long as it works, I'm all for it.
3 things for today -
** Restart daily planner usage. This new habit took a hit while dealing with DH memory and DGS18 visit.
** Capture & organize DD14 recommended changes to be made by the various therapist, doctors and counselors. Some of them are super simple while others are multi-step and complex.
** Show DH how to use new vacuum. One of the main reasons I bought this vacuum is that DH should be able to safely use it.

Re: Thriving Thursday PWYC
I have rested a bit did some knitting.
It's raining harder.
A good day to do the outside work early before that.
My bs was up in ack land a bit intentional on my part so I did not have a low as I
knew I would be doing that "logging".
The one limb is a two person job DD did text me back no rush with the rain.
I did sent text to Dgson to get on the list he is very busy with roof repairs.
My roof is great; but the lattice needs reattached not urgent.
I sent him a pic.
I may ask DD to go an inspection of my roof I'm sure she wouldn't mind.
She used to do roof work.
Have not done any writing or p/c work today.
Guys on the street behind got the tin on the shed they've been doing I think.
Grateful for a rain coat windbreaker today.

I'm home from workout. Only one a week right now and I feel weak! I told dtrainer that goal for today was just to move - I did a lot more than than, but always a great workout. Some stretching. The gal that works there does a better job with stretching but I didn't have her today. She's so chipper and perky sometimes she gets to me!
I drove through our National Cemetery which has evergreen wreaths on most graves. All perfectly aligned. It's rainy dreary today. I've always loved this cemetery because I know that daddy lived very near it as a young adult, and I recall him talking about walking through it to get home. I have some cousins there, no one real close.
Also stopped at drugstore. Parking lot was full - there are some little specialty shops in that strip center so there was lots of traffic.
Dh will bowl again tonight.
Dfriend V sent an email today about a menorah lighting that is being done as part of a neighborhood Luminaria festival. And it's Saturday night. Remember I said that we had temple tomorrow night and another Hanukkah get together on Sunday night. I don't think I can book Saturday night. I'm not sure my mental health will allow it, with more events next week.

I ordered a pan of chicken spaghetti from local restaurant. The cook is lifelong friend and I know the quality of her cooking. Normally I would prefer to make it myself but I'm still trying to get back into synch with hourly pathways. It is an easy and quick way to feed 3 teens and DH for only $25.
DH and I played a game of checkers while we waited for the food. I felt a tiny bit guilty playing him because I've been playing a game of checkers almost every day for several weeks. But I couldn't resist playing a hands on game and DH was the only available player. I'll survive my guilt.
3 blessings from today -
** Final day for both schools this year.
** Harvested radish, beets and greens from the garden
** enjoyed texting with DGS28 as he shared news about his new job and date on Saturday.

More gift wrapping, interspersed with housekeeping chores. About half the decisions on money presents are made.
HRH wanted me to watch "Man vs Baby" with him - I think that's the title? Mr. Bean, basically. R. Atkinson as a hapless fellow who is left as the last hope for an abandoned baby in a series of silly, yet individually believable events. Well, most of them are believable. lol. Even HRH said there's no way a baby would keep from crying so long. Anyway, HRH really likes it, and we enjoyed the first two episodes.
HRH did the cooking this evening. Warm and toasty sandwiches.
Twins', have a memorable, a calming holiday. If you don't want to celebrate extensively, that makes all the sense in the world.

Re: Thriving Thursday PWYC
Hello! Today was the start of a very busy three days for DD. Today was her last day of work. Her coworkers got her flowers and got as many of the children as they could to sign a card. (Pity that the littles she mostly works with may well not be able to write their names yet.) She does need to go in tomorrow to turn in her keys and return the pitcher that her coworkers used as a temporary vase.
We got the playroom at least clean enough that we were able to pull the trundle out and turn it 90 degrees so one can get to the daybed without climbing over it. Beds are made with sheets and pillowcases. Blankets are folded in a laundry basket because DD isn’t sure who might like what.
Tomorrow the houseguest arrives, though in the wee hours. We’ve informed DD that the friend who’s driving should leave the keys on the counter so we can move the car to the street in the morning so DH can get to work and I can run out to pick up Christmas presents (and ingredients to attempt to make the Candy Cane Pie that DD wants instead of a birthday cake and cannot be bought anymore). I’m actually going to attempt to make two pies assuming all DD’s friends will be coming back to the house after dinner.
Saturday will be the hockey game in the afternoon followed by dinner out. Of course, several of the items I’ve ordered for Christmas are supposed to arrive then. I’m not sure what to do about porch pirates; I can ask our neighbor to keep an eye out, but what could she do? I thought about leaving the front door unlocked and locking the vestibule door so she could toss any packages inside, but the vestibule barely has enough room to open and close the door. I may just have to cross my fingers and hope the packages come early in the day.
Well, unlike DD, I am not planning to stay up until the guests arrive. This means that I will likely meet our houseguest for the next several days by running into them in the house at some point. I’ve never met them before. (The driver, I’ve known since middle school.) It also means that I will say good night to you now. Sweet dreams!
