Good gracious, I’m sidetracked today! Nothing unusual, I guess.
I am just obsessed with this child I told y’all about in J&C. I keep checking for updates and then I get lost in FB — Steve Harvey reels and different things…

JUST got out of the shower, and I think I announced to dgs about 90 minutes ago that I was going to take a shower.

I typed the church notes last night but need to organize my meeting notebook.
Dishes did NOT get done.
I did update my purse calendar for 2026.

Cathy, My DH has criticised my efforts round the house once. I just handed him the iron, and he now does his own ironing!

Vergers, how very good to "see" you! Your church Christmas meal certainly sounded different! We have a "bring and share" harvest supper at our church and I think the organiser must have nerves of steel. There's always a sign up sheet, and this year, only two days before, the potential offerings consisted of 3 lots of rice salad and 5 lots of cake!! But, by the time it actually took place we had lots of other things too.

LucyLee, I easily get sidetracked too, and end up exploring new rabbit holes online.

Today was our neighbourhood Christmas get together at our community shop, for coffee and mince pies. Since then I've done some housework, a little gardening and some laundry, and appreciated my quiet house. And had a long chat with DNeighbour S, who is currently painting our side of his fence. (The fence divides our two gardens, and belongs to him).

I've gone and picked up the fudge that will be going into a gift for the woman that owns the store where I go on Fridays. There will be peanut brittle and chocolate fudge and some ginger/molasses cookies in her tin. I didn't make any of it, but it all appears to be home made. Last year I spent a lot of time and money baking all kinds of things. I kind of felt like being "lazier" this year. The fudge is made by volunteers at this particular shop, so it is "home made" just not at my house.

I also stopped and got a lot of sliced meat and some liverwurst and other things at a local smoke house. They are known locally for their ham and bacon. I got a couple of small ham steaks for later this week.

I think most of my errands are done.

I'm done (again) with DAR work and it's off my plate for the moment.

Going to stamp. I'm skipping the holiday get together for the neighborhood, or at most will make a brief visit...

I get to have some fun now...

I have the front yard and side drive way area cleaned up for the most part.
I have the back to deal with too, three smaller piles of smaller branches and one
long one to cut in half to fit in the trailer or a pickup bed.
Not sure where or when that will happen yet.
Had lunch and on a breather.
It was good to work out some soreness doing the front & it was sunny there.

Meant to say hello to vergers! Good to have you back with us!

I have made very little progress since my last post although I did wrap another present. I need to get some small boxes for the remaining gifts and finish ornaments with shirt scraps. I will do that when I am “child-free” tomorrow.
Dgs has kept me occupied and I called my dmom and talked to her for a little while.

Dgs and I are watching football but we’re not really concerned about the outcome.

Hello, everyone.

vergerswife, I hope the blending of the two church families into one becomes easier and easier. The meal does sound nice.

Today is bows, gift tags, package decorations which are also, you guys remember, my successful UFO finish this year. All the grands will have a mini quilt on their package, which becomes a tree ornament.

Extra laundry is drip-drying.

A Ta-Da is a long phone chat with HRH's dmother. She and a friend were out together and friend fell upon getting back home, in the driveway. Dmil called 911. Friend was having surgery for broken femur and hurt knee this a.m. Everyone very grateful it wasn't worse, grateful she was at least back "home" on grass to await ambulance, not on a concrete parking lot. I believe this lady is younger, maybe about 60. I've heard of her often but haven't met her.

Saturday Stillness, what a nice thought. My feeling is that everyone has been hard-working, efficient, diligent. If on a certain day they don't seem to be "proving" it, all that really proves is that someone else must be spending precious time, inefficiently watching them. What a waste, lol. We are terrific, and the chore police have lost their jurisdiction.

I hadn't really committed to go to the neighborhood party but dh wanted me to go so I did. And of course, I had a great time there. Fun afternoon, so many kids in the neighborhood and families that I don't know.

Last revision of the application was good, ready to mail once I assemble and sign everything.

Dinner is in the oven. Individual pizza already ate some squash for fiber.
I am pleased with my clean up I did rake and that was the last step for my plans today.
There are larger pieces that are longer to go on later but...
I forgot I have some smaller ones to take out of the back yard first to add before that happens.
So it's good I waited.

Oh yes I wanted to mention if any of you have not seen the newest Downton Abbey movie
it will be on Netflicks either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day I'm excited to see it as I did not make
it in Sept. when it came out.

DS52 stayed for 7 hours and is now driving 5 hours back home. He said the vehicle does most of the driving, so he isn't hands on all the time. While DS52 was here we had an impromptu family gathering with DBro & DSIL, DSis, niece and husband that was lively and enjoyable.
It was a very good day filled with treasured moments.
