Re: Miss Marple Monday @ TDD - C&C
What a wonderful form of entertainment, Miss Marple from book to screen. My ddolder tells me that Miss Marple is usually considered among the "cozy mysteries" aspect of the genre. Dreadful things happen, but somehow "out of sight", both in the writing and the cinematography, usually.

Good morning!
I love Miss Marple... (mental note: time to read some more Christie).
Thanks for the start trissie - it's going to be a challenging day for you, back to routine.
Kittykatt Your lists are always impressive!
Gma and Doggedly - I don't know how you stay up that late...
Harriet - yes - that's a good way to describe those mysteries.
I was out on Saturday and Sunday and when I was home, I had DGKids over...
Now, it's time to pull the house together.
Starting with;
take meds/supplements
feed dpup
D2S
sw/sw upstairs
make beds
garb/rec

Re: Miss Marple Monday @ TDD - C&C
Ooh, thanks for an interesting week, trissie! Miss Marple has been recommended to me, though I have neither read nor seen her. I will definitely check her out. I hope payroll is productive today. Sounds like you've got a lot piled up to do there.
Harriet, so nice to see you!! I enjoy cozy mysteries!
L Ann, how exciting!! I got a bird feeder from dh for Cmas but it hasn't been put up yet. We can hang it so it is visible from our living room windows but about 8-10 feet away. Not close like your video!!
Good morning kitkat! Looks like a good start to your day.
How are you going to cook the pasnips, Bama? I occasionally make a tray of roasted root vegetables in the winter, including parsnips. In fact, that sounds delicious and maybe I'll make that for a veggie this week.
I think it's true, Gma - the more charitable giving you do, the more you're asked. I gave once to an org maybe 15 years ago, and I still get requests from them for more.
I didn't get here yesterday at all as I started my new Magic jigsaw puzzle on Saturday. I'm doing this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/Jigsawpuzzles/ ... e_company/
This image was taken before the puzzle sections are moved, and the last bag of pieces is taken out and put together in the middle of the puzzle to solve a mystery. Not a super compelling mystery -- but it's still a very fun way to do a puzzle!
I did do a few other things yesterday. LOL! I went to church and went for a jog. We hosted R and J12yo here for Sunday dinner; S is out of town. Saturday, I got all the clothes laundry done, got the Ks' Cmas gift package in the mail, and scrubbed the tile floor of our shower, which is much improved.
It is sunny and 31F right now! It looks to be a beautiful winter day!
Today, I am going to go for another short jog. I'll also make a WF run for ingredients for dinner tonight. I'd like to make some phone calls and maybe decide what to do with my mom's knick knacks. Clean sheets on the bed and back on the guest beds would be good too. Dinner will be lo-cal, quinoa and black beans over rice and some roasted veggie. I'd also like to do some thinking and make a list of goals for the next 5 weeks without classroom payroll. SS has pinged me about help with a non-profit she is starting. Meeting with her will be on the list.

Home, finally! I think I can, I think I can!
Bama, so what did you do with the parsnip and how did you like it? All the talk of veggie dishes makes me want to do a grilled veggie side dish tonight
yay for something decluttered, kittykatt! I find that on round two or three, I can part with things easily. On round one, it's like "oh, I have this and I fully intend to use it now!" but by round 3 even I have to admit I won't
Harriet, I like all Agatha Christie books, but I like Miss Marple the best. Poirot is so annoying in always keeping the key information to himself so you can't uncover the mystery for yourself!
but now I really have to run, I'll be back with more personal replies at TOTH

Re: Miss Marple Monday @ TDD - C&C
Good morning, all. Kittykatt, thank you for that explanation. I had never heard that expression, but it makes sense. And I think that "Your dinner is in the dog" probably precedes "Your bed is in the dog house," LOL.
I like Father Brown too, Gma. Have you seen the spin off series, Sister Boniface? It's fun in the same way.
We'll welcome amateur sleuths, trissie. There are a lot of good ones.
Let us know how the parsnips turn out, Bama.
Hi, Harriet.
kitkat, our shared libraries have a good collection of Christie as downloadable ebooks and audio books, but there is often quite a wait for them.
That is wonderful, L.Ann! I'm glad that you and the birds are enjoying your bird feeder.
That looks like a challenging puzzle, helia. I'm glad that you are enjoying it.

Long Term

Re: Miss Marple Monday @ TDD - C&C
kitkat, I think January is a perfect reading time - the stress of holiday preps is gone, there is no garden to tend to yet, and it's still dark pretty soon so there's little running around!
you birdfeeder is a popular spot, L.Ann!
hard to believe you've managed to escape Miss Marple all your life, helia! But maybe you've seen Mirror Crack'd with the star cast of Angela Lansbury, Geraldine Chaplin, Tony Curtis, Edward Fox, Rock Hudson, Kim Novak, and Elizabeth Taylor, and haven't realized that it's actually a Miss Marple story?
and the timer just went off!
TaDas
- morning routine
- put away groceries
- 2nd load of ski/winter attire from cottage
- fold two loads currently dry (in dryer and in laundry basket)
- clean master bathroom
- clean out fridge
ToDos
- 50 minutes of work
- 10 minutes of rest
Braindump
- midday routine
- afternoon routine
- evening routine
- dinner
- bake something sweet
- menus
- hang load of ski pants which have been delay-started last night
- load of lights
- load of cottage towels? at delay start for tomorrow!
- ironing
- clean master bedroom
- at least 10 minutes in DBD's room
- one leftover holiday cleaning task
- homework / backpacks with kids
- DBD's speech therapy
- pay therapy bill
