☀️Good morning, Glories! 🌼🌸🌺

Hi Laura, yep Beau was born a bright white shepherd although he’s more cream colored now. I love samoyeds too, beautiful dogs, we had a white American Eskimo spitz which is as close as I will get to owning a Samoyed. It’s just too hot here for that thick coat.

Kitkat, it’s so true about large dogs don’t really mature until 2-3 years old. Beau is a massive 120 lbs and a sweetheart but his first 2 years were a bit of a struggle, he was very protective, almost aggressive with strangers, we couldn’t take him to the pet store because he would guard us. Now he’s chill, even the vet office remarks about how low key he is, especially for a shepherd.

Helia, yay for a “free” day to catch up. I’d love a card if you’re offering. Will message you.

Trissie, lol at the “water” comment. That should be patented and sold worldwide.

Hi LAnn. Picturing you and dog sitting at the table eating together.

Cl, I’m glad you had a good Christmas.

Kittykatt, I hope your friend has a wonderful birthday.

Wednesday To Do List:
Round up trash to go to the road
✔️Weigh
Water
Bible
Pet chores
Spot clean floors
Dust
Vacuum
Mop
Glass
Kitchen - dw, wfd (soup? hot dogs?)
Laundry
Walk dogs
Take down Christmas decor, pack decorations, pack tree
Paper, planner - in progress - pick habits, goals, write out bills in date order due, learn something new, fill in past few days. I’m already behind!
Read - book club book, Brenda Gantt book (both in progress)
Catch up on BG videos (in progress)
Craft - fake cupcakes - need to find spray
Outside - deal with bottles and jars, prune fig and weed around, fertilize (get dh to fetch fertilizer from shed)
Weekly - mop, water plants
Monthly - chg ac filter, add bleach to AC, clean glass, polish cabinets
Check on lp order for dd2, email says delayed, no update until January sometime
Check for frying pan at moms
Week 2 bedrooms
♥ Wake each day expecting good things to happen! ♥

Helia - flyer is still on Sheforums, did not move here. We were told it was ending and the people who started it stopped I guess but never shut it down so it is still working. Gma, mom, and I sometimes post there with flyer in the coffee house. I don't post daily, maybe once a week. Time just doesn't allow it. I am supposed to be sorting all of my mail and paying bills right now but I am exploring here just a bit.

kk - P is retiring in December and I most likely will stop teaching then as well. We have other plans together.

laurlind - hope you aren't too sore after your fall. Yesterday was Epiphany. We have a family in our parish that do their gift exchange on Epiphany to take the focus of Christmas off presents.

I must get busy.

Thanks cl. We're kinda learning as a family yet with 2 married kids and dgs. Last year I think ds and ddil came here Christmas eve. Christmas day was her family an hour away. Dd and dsil came down the day after Christmas for a few days. This year we went down to dd place for the week. Beautiful time. We ended up getting together with my family and ds and ddil here new years day but it was too short and busy for gifts for them. So it got postponed a couple times. They came last night. Epiphany. That is a good thought. I think that's the wise men day? I'm not super familiar as it wasn't a tradition our church emphasizes.

Yes I remember the push to move all our info from sheforums before it was gone. It never disappeared. Oh well..

Yes Casper is full of thick coat and only likes it in the house so long. Summer isn't too bad he survives the very short hot seasons here. Most of the year is perfect for him. Beau sounds like a great dog now. Casper is so not a watch dog lol 😂.

I'm too lazy and tired to push myself. Gonna be busy enough. I'd wait a bit for errands but both my stops require an actual conversation... and at a semi busy time for vet but that's when I have time.

Good morning! (Though not by the time that I hit Submit.)
Thank you for a very creative start to our day, trissie!

Nemesis is a fun one, Kittykatt! You are wise to wait for the sun before taking your walk, so that you can see what you are stepping on.

Hi, CostumeLady. Sorry about the awkward times with FIL, but glad that you got to spend time with DS.

Hi, L.Ann. I see that you are enjoying your bird feeder. :)

trissie, a study of Americans who lived to 100 concluded that the majority of them were farm children, so they lived in a healthy environment and had a lot of physical activity. When I read that I thought to myself "Yes, but these are the last generation of farm children before broad spectrum pesticides were commonly used on farms." I'm anticipating different results for people born in the 1940s.

Hi, helia! Enjoy your rare free-calendar day!

Lauralind, I hope that you got your soak. It sounds like your body is telling you that it needs it after your fall.

I've got to the end of Page 1. Time to get up and do things.

Wednesday
Checked emails
Cleaned up after dog
Breakfast for Germane
Put on a pot of coffee
Searched bin of old papers in order to reply to one of hte emails: could not find original apartment paperwork
Responded to message about missing parcel (vendor has agreed to reship).
Looked into finances
Dug out RRSP paperwork
Responded to financial guy’s email with decision

Yay Bama! I'll send you a card once I get them.
Doggedly, my mom grew up on a large grain farm in SW Kansas. She used to tell me how as a child, she would stand in the fields as the crop duster planes flew overhead and released pesticides on the fields - and on her. She said she was always fine and that was evidence that there was no danger in the pesticides! However, her dementia that started around age 80 has always made me wonder how good those pesticides actually were for her. Who knows?
Sounds like you had great times with your family, Lauralind. Nice that ds and ddil could come last night. How's the baby doing? Li'l J?
trissie, you do have much of your day left! I just thought it was interesting that I was getting up and drinking my coffee and starting my day while you were leaving work, at the end of your payroll time.
I can't keep up with 2 websites, CL. G'luck with the mail and bills.
We have chickadees here too, L Ann, but not so much in the winter, I think. Well, I don't remember - I need to get my feeder set up and check out who visits it.
Hi Peaches.

Main Goals for Today:
1. Exercise - it's mild enough I can jog outside. Dh just finished his run and said the path by the river is clear.
2. WF; I'm doing my groceries piecemeal this week. *sigh*
3. NY card - get blurb edited, hopefully, and get the cards ordered - added pic of ds + fam they sent last night
4. Clean sheets on the bed
5. Sheet laundry (We do have extra sets but my favorite set is currently on the bed.)
6. Med. appointment phone calls 1 2 3
7. Walgreens - pick up script
8. Dinner: panko salmon, potatoes? and asparagus (or other fresh veggie)
9. Something fun - knitting or reading or both
10. Communication: email trustee, text SS - coffee date, text JK - coffee date, text S - check in with her

Next:
- some qt
- s2s and self care
- squeegee and wipe down shower

TaDas!
- up; weighed self - trending down
- coffee
- email deletions + weather website - cloudy today and high of 40F
- ordered a couple sweaters on sale
- got pic from ds + fam; created yet more versions of a new year card -- with 5 pics; 2 options.
- reclaimed kitchen
- back exercises
- Jog
- texts with SS; we have a coffee date scheduled
- Walgreens: picked up script
- home; lunch
- texts with dbro - rent for parents' storage units hasn't been paid for 2 years. He told the company to contact the trustee. I guess that slipped through the cracks. Dbro likes drama.
- texts with dh; large charge on A account was my Adobe acrobat renewing. Gosh, I didn't know it was so expensive! It was convenient dealing with Mom's stuff and occasional payroll stuff -- but is it worth it going forward??
