trissie how long does the ski trip last ? It was probably a good thing to take it easy yesterday. We shouldn't wait until our bodies or minds can't cope anymore.

Right now I'm going to take it easy myself for an hour or something. Did some cooking preps in the morning, the leftovers will fill some lunchboxes nicely and we will enjoy roasted carrots and roasted kuri squash all week at payroll lunches 8-) .Also baked two easy cakes, one with pear and almond powder, one with chocolate and coconut powder - the latter is almost gone. The excuse for baking is thath, well, the oven is running, so it would be a pity to let heating energy go to waste...
I hoped to tempt DS7 into eating, but he just had a bite. Not sure if he will go to school tomorrow. MrNG is considering staying home with him on Monday, and if needed I'll stay on Tuesday - and lose 50% salary.

TODO after reading break by the stove
write more NY cards to family, DF J--, who else ?
attack cleaning list
admin stuff I postponed
trip in the fresh air to walk to mailbox to mail my cards ?
dinner is burgers and fries -> MrNG's job

TADAs
tea, fed DS7
started to cook a few things ahead
peeled half a big kuri squash
2nd half of my breakfast
peel second half of red kuri squash
cook today's lunch
also cook ahead the fish parmentier for Tuesday or Wednesday dinner
put away Christmas decorations, still box to put to storage and tree to store
lol in
lunch baked and served and eaten (except DS7 who isn't hungry)
lol out
also two quick cakes baked
two cards written, I'll do 3 others later, and mail them.

Good morning and thanks for that lovely image of a Sunflower , kittykatt. It brought back memories; growing up, we had a painting of one on the wall. All our visitors joked that it was a Van Gogh :) I always loved sunflowers.
Try to keep warm, Gma
Thankfully, I trained my pup to "go potty" - she does it in less than two minutes. It's cold here as well...
Enjoy the projector, Dogged ! Sounds like you're having fun
FFly - hope DS is all better.
Nice school trip, trissie! Hope they enjoy it.

I will have a day at home today after my gym class.
So I'm off to change,
feed pup
take meds

and GO:)

See you soon

OK -- now I can't NOT picture you in pink quilted overalls, Gma! That's a good point about seed and mice, though we've had mice in our house every year since we moved here, with or without a feeder up. We have a year warranty on the work the pest control guy is currently doing to seal any holes through which they could get in. Hopefully, that will work. We also always have traps set. Dh checks them all on Wednesdays as part of his weekly routine. -Stay warm. That is insanely cold!
I see you had a fun social evening last night, Kitty. I'm sure by now you've already enjoyed your Sunday lunch. I grew up with sunflowers in our garden! My mom always planted a row or two of them. The state flower of Kansas, where my parents were from, is the sunflower!
Glad you are feeling well, FFB. Has DS7 perked up? I had to google kuri squash. I'm not familiar with it.
Glad you're enjoying your new hand warmer - er, projector, Doggedly!
I hope the packing is going well, trissie.
kitkat, we used that command with Pepper. It was very convenient for the time we used it. I hope you had a good exercise class.

That was a lot of greetings! We're a busy bunch this morning. I suppose L Ann will be coming by soon.

Today: We're going to our regular church here in town at 10 am. Then, we're hosting dinner at 6 pm for up to 8 people; with this group, the precise number is always an unknown until dinner actually starts. Then, we have our family zoom call at 8:15 pm. I'd like to get in a long walk or some sort of exercise this afternoon, though temps here are cold -- though not as cold as in MN. It's currently 13F and lightly snowing right now. Dh is out running in this. Nothing stops him. AND I should finally make the guest beds and work on NY cards.

Hi helian!

Sunflower mazes are a thing here… a way for farmers to make their farms profitable. I am hoping we don’t get that cold here, GMA. We only get that kind of cold once in awhile. I prefer it to stay above 30. Hope your DS feels better soon, FFB. My friend and I decided not to walk about an hour before we were to go because the weather report called for sleet…. and then of course it didn’t.

helia, no wonder your freezer is so well stocked with leftovers if you have to host an undetermined amount of people!
kitkat, what kind of exercise do you do at gym? like, weights, or indoor aerobic exercise, or a class?
Frenchie, is your job one that could not be done remotely? I am so glad I can do home office days (and DH as well) - the only good thing about covid! DH was always so sure his job can't be done remotely, well it turned out it can! Not as efficiently (we both rely on "listening to the grassroot", i.e. getting input from everybody to assess the needs and priorities), but a 3+2 / 2+3 (three days in office, 2 at home or vice versa) is still doable, and I really do rely on my 4+1 schedule, where I spend one day a week on tying loose ends, updating, scheduling and basically keeping tracking of everything.
L.Ann, when it comes to the risk of slipping on ice, it's always better to be safe than sorry!

I'm back:)
The gym was soooo cold I had to keep an extra layer on for the entire class...
Yes, trissie - I do classes. It's a good combination of weights and aerobic exercise. I need the weights for my old bones:)
helia - we need that command for cold climates like ours:) It's a matter of survival
I forgot to reply to you the other day: photography is my hobby. I love doing it but have little time to do it lately....
LAnn we have sunflower mazes, too... lots of wonderful photo ops:)

And now:

PUPAs (main)
