I hope that the interrupted sleep doesn't leave you too dragged out, kitkat.

Luckily, it was salmon and not liver and brussel sprouts, helia.

Bama, I faced something similar with my old house. It was decorated in 1970's colours. The best that I could do was to introduce a very pale green with modest blue tones to brighten it up a bit.

Be careful on the ice, L.Ann. I'm sure that the birds will appreciate your efforts.

I would be very happy to continue my policy of not putting my nose outside of the building until I'm sure it won't freeze off, but last night I realized with a sinking heart that the missing water bottle must be in the car. That means that by now the water has expanded and cracked the bottle. If it warms up inside the car enough to start melting, it will melt into the cup holder or over the side and onto the seats, and then refreeze. So, at some point, I will have to stop indulging myself and go out at least as far as the car.

I have something worse: my waterhose is attached... Dson managed to get one off... but the other is frozen there... I'm thinking of wrapping it in pool noodle? Anyone with a better suggestion?

I just invented a new (to me) dish:
I had some baked Spaghetti Squash in the fridge - put it in a frying pan over some EVOO, beat an egg over it and used TJ's Crispy Onion spice...So good! I can almost call it healthy:)

Hello everyone!

Helia, yes, you're right, the magnolia will be for the outside of the house. ( Indoors is mostly natural Calico -paler and slightly more yellow, except for the bathroom, which is tiny, with a white suite and grey and white floor, so this room is actually painted white as I didn't want to introduce another colour, and our bedroom, which is the palest of pinks)

Do take care on that ice, L.Ann, it sounds really cold!

Trissie, Matilda was reasonably well behaved today. She did insist on singing the song of her people in the waiting room, and then didn't.wamt to come out of her carrier. She also did her usual jumping off the scales thing as soon as she was placed on them, repeatedly, so she has now been weighed in her carrier, then I held her while the carrier was weighed. The nurse did the maths, and both Matilda's weight and the weight of the carrier (for future reference) have been entered on her notes. I use the same carrier for her each time, with the same piece of vet bed inside , so it should be reasonably accurate. While we were chatting, Matilda occupied herself by jumping on top of her carrier and trying to disassemble the notice board, which had all sorts of helpful notices pinned up, mostly to do with weight. Matilda's weight is stable, and she is the right size, and the nurse pronounced her to be in excellent condition, so we're happy, especially as the notice board withstood her tactics!

KitKat, I think L.Ann is right, and Gma didn't take her laptop.with her to Florida - she was posting from her phone at the airport.

Dogged, I hope you can retrieve the water bottle safely and easily.

Bama, I concur with keeping cork boards out of cats' reach. I'm our house it would probably be chewed and / or used as a scratching post!

I'm tired -I didn't sleep well last night because of the rain,.and then I had an early start. But Matilda's appointment was successful, and downstairs is clean and tidy. I'm currently cleaning the 3 kitchen shelves before I decide what to put back there. A small job, but it all adds up!
