Re: Thumbs up for Thursday! PWYC
PSW came a lot earlier than expected. I had to wake dh up from a really good nap. I just happened to look outside and saw her car on the driveway.

Re: Thumbs up for Thursday! PWYC
It's a good day happening here.
For the first time since last Friday, I’m able to take my walks outside. I stay mindful with each step, going around the solid ice areas while listening for the satisfying crunch of snow underfoot and making sure to step where the snow is lower than my ankle so it doesn’t get into my shoes. The residential streets are still a solid sheet of ice so I stay away from them and stick with mostly walking on areas that have grass underneath the snow. I only do one lap at a time and then come indoors and check on DH. I am so very thankful for the ability to walk outside again. Sunshine, fresh air and walking = energy lifted and a satisfying calmness and joy.
This morning’s breakfast cupcakes were a favorite. While they cooked in the air fryer, I shredded potatoes to fry in the cast iron skillet and put together some ingredients to have potato salad later.
DH is about 70% back to normal. He is happy and upbeat while acknowledging he doesn't know what happened. He saw the fan blowing on the mattress and asked why. During the episode, his CPAP mask got disassembled so I have given the pieces to him to put back together. I can't do it because it has to be adjusted to fit his head. ANYway, these are simply things to deal with but there are several that need to be worked through before we can get back to our normal.
I’m trying a new approach to help DH avoid overhydrating. I give him drinks in an 8-ounce cup—he still downs it all at once, but at least it’s a smaller amount, so it’s not overwhelming his body. The desire to drink is strong with him. During the worst part of his memory loss episode he was trying to drink from anything he saw. The auto air fresher. apparently looks close enough to a glass...yup, he picked it up and tried to drink from it. Fake greenery in a while planter.....yup, he picked it up, removed the fake plant and tried to drink from the planter. This is just a little of the reasons why I can't leave him alone for a moment during that phase of the episode.

Re: Thumbs up for Thursday! PWYC
Oh, dear, thinking of your dh, Cathy, with a lost nap in order to be prepared for early care/helper.
And thinking of LadyM household today, in hopes of back-to-normal day. Oh, there she is! A better day, yay!
Twins', those are interestingly named, if not downright amusing, subjects to learn!
Didn't get to return yesterday and report on further Robining.
In the sewing area, I got all the measurements, done, written and some computing done for the current quilt. Computing how much backing will be needed, how to cut it, and how large a batting. That let me straighten up and set some folded things aside. Getting back to housework, the kitchen was next in the Robin.
Then we had a visit from Wonderboy and his next-youngest sibling, dgsC. They picked up the gallon of milk HRH was able to get into our grocery order. Ddolder called later and said thanks for that, although she commented they were spoiled.
It's become increasingly clear that I will not be able to make an appt Monday because road conditions would keep any wise chauffeur away from travel on our road. So, I have a call in to that office, hoping to reschedule. Even if others might be able to get there, no one in my entire circle would believe a trip out on our road would be a wise choice. It's been long enough now that I bet the real question for that office is whether any of them will get there.
A thumbs up, I guess, lol, to finding so many potential choices for a quilt backing fabric that I can hardly choose! The downer, however, is choosing "blind", with no opportunity to see/match or touch anything.

Sweet! Next week our temps are going to be in the mid 60's with sunshine. I've enjoyed the snow but now I'm ready for it to go away.
I’ve been keeping up with my hourly pathway plans, I wondered if I could stick with them once I started doing the outside walks again. It turns out the walks boost my energy, letting me get more done without it feeling like extra effort.

Re: Thumbs up for Thursday! PWYC
Y'all are all going to bed and I'm just getting here.
No thumbs up really for me today. I did go to Wmart and I texted with my cousin's husband, who runs an HVAC business. He is going to come put some metal covers on the gaps at the bottom of my heat units, and hopefully can advise on closing up the other gaps around where the unit connects to the house. He said I didn't have to be here when he did that, so I'm thankful for that. Although I would like to be here to talk with him about all the places that are concerning me.
Also told DS to tell our carpenter friend to plan on replacing the access door to my crawl space.
I bought some steel wool to patch some of the indoor spots but I haven't done that yet.
I am sooo glad to hear LordM is doing better today, and that you got some walking in, LadyM!
Also good that dgrands were able to visit, Harriet!
Nancy, I'm not really watching TV early in the day, but I still have trouble getting my housework tasks done.
I am just being a slug lately.
Someone posted on Facebook yesterday that we should not say negative things about ourselves -- speak life, he said. If we say "I am so tired," we will be tired. If we say "I am full of energy," we will be full of energy. I can't remember to say anything at all to myself. I just find myself sitting on the couch, eating, and then falling asleep.
I went to the post office, and I went to the church and signed a couple checks. Read the paper and did the puzzles. That is the extent of the activity around here.
I ate the rest of the leftover spaghetti, and then since I was still hungry, but didn't want to open the package of turkey slices, so I ate a bunch of junk. Of course that did not help my energy situation.
I should try the outdoor walks to boost my energy, LadyM. Tomorrow's high will be 43. (But Saturday will be 26! Brrrr.) (Still don't know about the early morning departure time for dgs' scholars' bowl.)
WTG, Twins, for getting out and getting some sunshine and fresh air!
So good that your dmom was doing well, blessed!
Cathy, that is aggravating, not knowing when the helper will show up. Can they not understand that they should at least text or call when they are on their way? OTOH, that was really nice of the garbage man to help out with your compost load.
KittyKatt, I am trying to keep a gratitude journal in my planner, and I'm still using Thanksgiving napkins that say "Count your blessings."
I am thankful -- I'm healthy, I have a warm house, my dmom is able to live independently, my DS and his family are happy and healthy... I know I am blessed.
I just get so down on myself because I cannot seem to manage any sort of routine and get things done around here. It's really hard to motivate myself when no one is here to care about any of this except me. No one cares if I sleep 24 hours a day, no one cares if supper consists of cookies and cereal. I should have never been so critical of my dmom after ddad passed away -- the only differences between her and me are that I am not on any sort of medication that causes me to sleep, and I do open my mail every day.

You have a kindred spirit here, Mystery.Well, I did not much succeed In overcoming procrastination necessary.

Re: Thumbs up for Thursday! PWYC
lucylee, I do think you forget to speak to yourself congrats on being a valuable part of teacher group, church responsibility, almost daily grandchildren's lives.
blessed, what a good report on your dmother's day and your nap.
Snow - here it comes for us.
Ds called after their big conference call today. 90 percent chance of more than 5 inches but only 10 percent chance it will reach 14 inches. He really does think I can make the new faraway appt time nurse managed for me, which is 8:30 a.m. (yipes) Wednesday. He thinks there will have been enough melting (but doesn't that mean mornings are treacherous...?) I understand nurse - she is having to work around insurance requirements that have to have exact time between things.
I don't know if I ate something "off" or what, but have had tummy troubles that kept me from feeling up to par today. Hopefully that's over.
