Re: Francis Bacon Friday
Hi, all. It is a bright sunny day, I have a deeply satisfied dog and all is well. I suspect that I am coming into a case of pink eye, which I haven't had since I wore contact lenses, but hopefully it will just pass. In the meantime, I will be extra diligent about washing hands and wiping down surfaces.
Thanks, Kittykatt. I hope that your kitchen cupboard is perfect.
Dog food really has gotten expensive, kitkat. I'm lucky that Germane is such a little dog. I don't remember your mentioning Balance It, but I am interested to check it out. Thanks for mentioning it.
helia, I hope that no news is good news regarding R. Fingers crossed!
Lauralind, I can't imagine a large group of people descending on my home for dinner with no warning. Kudos to your DH's ddad's dfamily for rising to the occasion.
LOL, yes, trissie, we can't lose bacon as well!
WTG on making it through the week. Yay weekend!

You know, Dogged, if catching a break isn't working out for you, catching a pink eye should not be an alternative! Quick healing!

Re: Francis Bacon Friday
Hi Everyone,
just dropping in for a coffee:) Long overdue...
I had 2 DGkids, down to one now...
I also had the "tree guys" chopping down branches in the front for the city... Had to move cars and all. My dpup decided to "react" with barking, then growling as there were a few people in front, working on the ground, up on the tree... so I spent some time, 3 or for outings with her on the porch where I allowed her to observe that they were no threat. She did well. By the second outing she was obedient AND quiet. Of course, she got her rewards:)
We worked on her to let me touch around her eyes. I have an ointment for her... I think, it's even more difficult than the drops we used b4. She now lets me hold her lids open but I would need a third hand to give the ointment
Thankfully, her eye is not looking bad. Keeping an eye on it.
Dogged - be careful about your eye... Polyporin eyedrops from Shoppers might help.
(Apparently, we can pass on pink eye to dogs (and vice versa).
Lauralind, I'm not a dr, but that sounds like a sinus infection (I've had my share of them) - and you just might need antibiotics... Do you have access to virtual appointments?
helia sounds like you had a rough evening. (((((()))))
Waving to trissie, LAnn, Kittykatt Did I miss anyone?
Back to laundry I go:)

Re: Francis Bacon Friday
LOL, I can see that catching pink eye is not much of a Plan B, trissie! My eye has actually quit bothering me, so I hope that I was wrong.
Doing great, L.Ann.
You have done better than I, kitkat. I was never able to convince Dreadnaught that people providing services to the house were not a threat.
I have a terrible time getting anything into Germane's eyes. She braces her head against me, which is a help, but then she thrashes around.
I'll join you in the laundry room after I get my hair washed.
I have had to do some restrategizing. Germane has upchucked on her dog bed. Luckily, the bottom has come apart so I can see that it's stuffed with synthetic batting, not beads that can jam the washing machine, so I can put it through the wash. I just have to take out the stuffing and put it all in laundry bags. So that will be one load. For my second load, I'll do clothes but no delicates, so it will be an easy laundry day for me. I'll have to bring up Germane's second dog bed before I take this one away. She won't be happy, as this bed is her favourite, and once she changes favourites she won't have anything to do with second best. If I were going to get a wish from a genie, I think that I would ask for confidence like Germane's, LOL.

Re: Francis Bacon Friday
I thought I came back here this afternoon -- I guess not. It's 3:20 pm now. I'm tired and need some mojo.
I need to join you in the laundry room, Kitkat.
Sounds like interesting reading, L Ann - fiction and nonfiction.
I hope Germane feels better, Doggedly. And you too - pink eye is no fun. - Oh, I see it's not bothering you any more!
WTG dealing with financial paperwork, trissie.
Get better soon, Lauralind. So much stuff going around right now. I hope you can rest today. Oh - you're almost done with the blanket! Who is it for?
R got home at 6:20 this morning; apparently, M picked him up. He has atypical bacterial pneumonia. But his MRI was normal. He's on antibiotics. I offered help if he needs it, but he hasn't responded. Hopefully he's sleeping. I called S's mother who stayed overnight with J12yo last night to see what she knew. She thought R was pretty much back to normal and that J12yo wants to be with him as much as possible; I think it was quite a scare for her. J12yo is very sweet and sensitive and surprisingly mature for her age, an only child. S is coming home tomorrow night - unless she has cut her trip short.
Next:
- refill bird feeder
- back exercises
- start a lol
- some qt
- NY cards progress
Later:
- some qt
- refill bird feeder
- bring in firewood
- exercise - go for a walk? (I'll jog tomorrow)
- NY cards progress
- laundry
- writing time
- maybe, to the school to check that final exams were turned in
- update timesheet
- 15 minutes decluttering
- dinner out with dh
- read for fun
- duolingo
- update health apps
- restart knitting project?
- progress with planning travel?
- can I buy and send a bd card to ddilF?
TaDas!
- up; weighed self
- coffee
- email deletions + weather website
- s2s and self care
- squeegeed and wiped down shower
- reclaimed kitchen
- 9:20 - 11:15 out to coffee with MM
- lunch
- AS texted: has to cancel work out this afternoon
- messaged R with offer of help
- called LW, S's mom - how is R doing? (She stayed at their house with J12yo last night while R was in the hospital)
- payroll: finished checking syllabi for GGT; figured out some things with google sheets
- payroll: updated timesheet

Re: Francis Bacon Friday
Hello, everyone!
Trissie, thank you! DH has been told today that he will find during the "second quarter". He's not sure if yet that means April -June (calendar quarter) or July -September (financial quarter), as it wasn't clarified. He'll ask for clarification on Monday, but Ive said to him that long term, it really won't make much difference.
I hope Germane feels better soon, Dogged.
KitKat, congratulations to DPup with her progress with visitors! Freddie is unpredictable and has to be shut away, Jude is very shy, and Matilda has the opinion that everyone is here for her entertainment, and also has no idea of the concept of personal property. As far as she's concerned, anything in anyone's bag needs to be disinterred and examined. So she's also shut away when I have workmen in the house.
Helia, that's good news about your DF R. I'm sure everyone is relieved.
Laura, drinking lots of water can also help sinus infections while you're waiting to see a doctor.
Is Little Bit's valentine 's project for her parents, L.Ann?
It's been a good day. The sun actually came out this morning, so I had time in my garden. MJ has made good progress on the cupboard. The drawer is finished, and the cupboard just needs a shelf fitted. He's done really well, raking out the old fittings, and building a frame from scratch, with no instructions or diagrams, just my ideas! He'll be back on 27th to finish, as he's going to DF CW (who lives opposite) so it makes sense to do it then. He's on holiday with his family for next week as it's half term,.and did suggest coming over the day they got back, but I vetoed that, and he and his wife have two small children, and I think she would appreciate some support that day,.dealing with the inevitable post holiday laundry and all the other jobs! This afternoon it rained, and I cut out my first tablecloth and got it pinned. Matilda is now on my lap.
