LadyM, I'm just amazed that she's 14, really. Yes, blink and we're amazed at the changes.

Cleaned on around the room under the bar that extends from kitchen, so that was a good CONGA extension of yesterday's work.

Decided to go through some kitchen cookbook/recipe stuff after that. Happily, found a few of dfirstmil's recipes, one or two I might not have managed from memory. Her cabbage casserole in print is somewhat valuable to us (ddolder's boys love it), but I was pleased to see I had it memorized. Pineapple casserole, not so much. HRH was making a face when he heard that name, lol.

d harriet - we see a pattern - two days and a night of no real sleep - a fib hits - a couple days later she sleeps almost all day and night and then it fixes itself. (approximately every 3 weeks) -

yesterday dh and I made a mistake - one that made all of us laugh! We both swore that yesterday was our 50 th dating anniversary - it wasn't ; it was 49 It's my d sis in laws (dh's older sister)'s 50th wedding anniversary this Fall. We started dating on February 12, 1977 - I remember hearing about this sister's wedding. Time does go by fast!!! Too fast!

I am surprised dh didn't say it "felt" like 50 years

made a new soup today for tonights dinner and one, is cooking, for the freezer - I had cut everything up two days before yesterday. I want to do prep like that from now on.

starting at 9:59 am.

Roasted Veg:
3 onions, peeled and sliced into roughly 1 inch pieces
1 small butternut squash, peeled and sliced into ¾-1” cubes
1-2 t. Chili powder
4 cloves garlic
2 sprigs fresh thyme leaves
Drizzle of olive oil

Soup:
2 T. olive oil
4 garlic cloves, sliced
3 sprigs each: rosemary, sage,thyme (adjust to taste- I only use 1 sprig of sage)
1 parmesan rind
6 cups chicken broth
2 T. sherry vinegar (I used 1 T. cooking sherry + 1 T. rice vinegar)
Zest from one lemon
Juice from ½ lemon
8-10 oz. short pasta
6 kale leaves, stems removed and sliced
½ c. heavy cream
⅓ c. grated parmesan cheese
s&p

Preheat oven to 375 F. Mix all veg ingredients. Spread evenly on baking tray. Bake for about 18 min.

Add olive oil to dutch oven set on medium-hi. Add sliced garlic, fresh herb stems, s&p, & parmesan rind. Cook for a few minutes. Let flavors infuse, watch the garlic, so that it doesn’t burn.

Pour in chicken broth, lemon zest, lemon juice, vinegar, and s&p. Cover. Let simmer for a few minutes. Remove lid, remove herbs, add pasta. Cook to al dente. Add kale and cook for 2 minutes. Remove from heat, stir in roasted vegetables, heavy cream and grated parmesan.

Serve right away with freshly grated parmesan, black pepper and a drizzle of olive oil.

as dd older doesn't do well with cream - she can handle parm, goat cheese and feta - I put shredded parm and oil but no cream

I'm kind of all over the place this afternoon.

I made a valentine for dh. I've done a bit of playing with AirTable and decided not to move my stamping stuff to it. I've played with Evernote, where I do have my stamping stuff catalogued, plus household stuff and genealogy research. I need to do some editing on stamping stuff - I need to inventory and make sure I've deleted what I gave away.

I've ordered the NGS (National Genealogical Society) booklets to consider submitting for a family history writing contest - deadline is next 15 December so there's time, and I have a lot of it written. It could suffice for my renewal portfolio. And I emailed the genealogy friend who won it last year. She's also the person who matches up portfolio mentors - so I sent her an update on my "mentee" who is fluky about setting up meetings. I'm pretty sure she's still committed to submitting. And I emailed my mentee saying that I'm here if she wants to meet.

And I'm considering taking down one of my ink pad storage holders. It's mounted to the wall and would open up some space for other things since I'm not keeping older stamp pads.

Handyman has finished with the multiple mini projects. It took him 6 hours and he charged $350.
** Wall insulated and sheet rocked around bathtub. Both side - bathroom and walk in closet.
** Ceiling sheetrock replaced in living room where water leak happened a couple months ago.
** A hole in the sheetrock repaired in DD14 bedroom
** ceiling fan and light replaced in DD14 bedroom
** Shop door frame repaired

I started the day with clean floors. The floors are certainly not clean now with all the insulation and sheetrock dust. Ohs well.

DH and I hauled a few items to the city dumpster as part of our weekly effort to get rid of stuff that has outlived its usefulness.

I am so glad to get these multiple mini projects done.

GF16 text to ask my permission to deep clean DS17 bedroom & bathroom for him as a Valentine gift. YES!!!

Realized that I never got to the pet supplies store for dog food, so found something in the pantry, part of a gift assemblage that will suffice for tonight and a.m. And got next-to-last dues in. Texted the last guy that if he brought it by, dh might be pouring bourbon. He's a nice guy, just different priorities.

We have leftover grilled pork chops and chicken for our dinner, I'm baking a sweet potato, and will add salad.

Moved on to the master bathroom and worked on mopping there. A good deep clean.
Extra laundry

Doing some hand basting now, taking a break to use hands differently for a while.

I did make that DPC. Dr's not there until Thurs and her PA not until Monday.

Ddolder called. Her internet line was redone today.

HRH made calls for upcoming week to schedule two things, heat pump annual check with outdoor filter change here, and car's inspection.

Thinking of him, it just dawned on me that while I was deep into hand sewing, he came down the hall and asked me something. Better go check on that, lol. What did I say? lol poof.

The upcoming holiday coming this Monday is "Family Day" and is a new "holiday" Monday to add to the calendar between Canadian Thanksgiving in October and the Victoria Day holiday Monday in May. I meant to answer this earlier.

I did call our carpenter friend and he said he would try to get out here today (Saturday.)
Went to funeral visitation.
Picked up dgrands, spent the afternoon with them, ate at McD’s, took dgs home.

Tomorrow, Dgd is going to the trampoline park with the pastor and pastor’s dgs.
When she gets back, I am taking both dgrands to high school basketball game. Ds and ddil are going out for Valentine’s Day.

Dgd has been so much better behaved. It has been amazing.
