Good morning, all.
Kittykatt, thank you for starting us off. What a beautiful flower thyme is!
Good morning, L.Ann. Your poor neighbour's son. I understand about being lucky that he wasn't killed, but it still sounds like an awful thing to go through.
Sounds like helia will be busy outside of the home today. Have a good one!
Hi, kitkat.
I'm with you, Bama, on donating rather than selling. I feel insecure about giving money away in case I need it later, so I tend to give small amounts as I go along and not try to collect tax receipts. But if there's a thing that I know I'm finished with, I'm happy to donate it so that it can benefit someone else.
Today's big goal is laundry. I can start it early in the day and not be hanging laundry at midnight, LOL.
Thursday
Cleaned up after dog
Breakfast for dog
Spent some time on course
Checked emails
Tried to link my last purchase to my account, but computer hiccoughed and the button was gone

Re: Thyme Thursday
My students are taking their exam. I've graded an outlier hw assignmnet. Now, I'm getting caught up on other things while they're working.
kitkat, Thursdays I work out with my personal trainer. He has me do strength and balance exercises, some with weights, some using my body weight. Last week, he had me plank for 40 seconds X3 times at the end of the work out when I was tired. I could do it! It made me feel proud of myself. --French toast! Yum! You do deserve it.
I hope your leg feels better, L Ann. Maybe some rest? Your neighbor is lucky. That sounds scary.
I'm with you Bama and Doggedly. We don't sell stuff because it takes too much time and energy. It's not worth it for us. I've even donated brand new clothing items with the tags attached. . .
Good luck with the laundry, Doggedly.
Bama, we have a scale with an app, arboleaf, but I don't use the app. And it's not always accurate so dh bought an app-less scale to check weights on the app scale. So, we now have 2 scales. But I always step on the less accurate app one - even though I don't use the app.
Why do I do these things? (It tends to report a higher weight than the app-less scale.)
Next:
- finish teaching
- home; lunch
- after lunch clean up
Later:
- cut up squash for dinner; maybe roast it ahead of time?
- 2:30 - 3:30 payroll: CA mtg
- moisturize feet
- dress to exercise
- 4-5 work out with AS
- change into street clothes
- dinner: teriyaki salmon, rice, roasted squash
- after dinner clean up
- 5:55 otd to Vol. ESL class
- 7:45ish home again
- duolingo
- update health apps
- read for fun?
- payroll: review EPT interview info for tomorrow a.m.?
TaDas!
- up; weighed self - a tad up
- coffee and tea
- email deletions + weather website
- payroll: finished the midterm test
- payroll: prepped for AR D5
- payroll: LOTS of communication
- reclaimed kitchen
- made the bed
- s2s and self care - minus moisturizing feet
- squeegeed and wiped down shower
- gathered everything and out the door late
- at payroll, giving the exam

Re: Thyme Thursday
I've done that too, helia (donated new clothing with the tag attached.) I am embarrassed at wasting my money that way, but I also think about the delight of the person who finds that on the rack in thrift shop.
Laundry will happen. It hasn't yet, but I believe, I believe, I believe!
Stay strong, L.Ann. That is everybody's least favourite type of work--getting someone on the phone to do something that you are paying them to do.
I am all clean and sparkly and the laundry is sorted, so time to sparkle my way over to the laundry room.
Thursday
Cleaned up after dog
Breakfast for dog
Spent some time on course
Checked emails
Tried to link my last purchase to my account, but computer hiccoughed and the button was gone
Set up new dollar store dog bed with old tshirt as cover
Cut up boxes for recycling
Finished sorting dirty laundry and putting delicates into laundry bags
Showered/washed hair
Quick scrub of bathtub
Made avocado and tomato sandwich

Re: Thyme Thursday
Hi Dogged
Thanks for the laundry reminder:) (we all believe)
helia -- WTG on those planks. End of session ones count extra!
In my old class, 3 minutes was standard... I have not done long ones like that since my foot injuries... so, almost, 2 years. They are really good for us!
LAnn sounds like a frustrating "chat"...
Just back from lunch with DD (I guess, we made up for yesterday:) ) - we had a lovely kale salad with brussels sprouts and sw. potatoes:) followed by coffee (which makes EVERYTHING better!)
The second bedroom is done - minus vacuum
So:
vacuum
clean front window (nose prints by pup)
take laundry down
lol fpa etc

kitkat! You're so strong! I could NOT do 3 minutes straight of planking. I don't know how long I could last - but not that long. Be good to your feet.
Glad I'm not the only one, Doggedly. Yes - someone else will love what I don't.
That kind of work is a pain, L Ann. Kudos to you for doing it. Did you have success at the SS office?

- dress to exercise

- message from SS - she is sick again so class is cancelled
- payroll exam prep: started LBBR Exam

Re: Thyme Thursday
helia - several 40 second ones get you ready for the long ones! I'm sure you'll do it.
I used to have a young lady instructor in the class (girlfriend of the actual instructor) - she would not stop as long as someone else was going ... I tried hard to keep up but then
Need the challenge. Bama here will remember all the fitness challenges we tried to do way back...
Second bedroom is looking ready for my little one. I added a Teddy Bear Picnic . (My DD's old Teddy bear collection displayed on a throw) She'll like that.
While setting up, I realized that some colourful new bedding would not hurt... Getting tired of all the neutrals..
Laundry started.
And now, I shall get ready to go for pup. No gym tonight. (Canceled
)
See you soon

Re: Thyme Thursday
Laundry is launched. I brought Germane to the laundry room with me, as a little outing. She was so good! She waited until we got home before using her pee pad, though I had set one up for her in the laundry room.
kitkat and helia, you are both so strong! If I went down to do a plank, I wouldn't be getting back up again. It is a good reminder to work more physio exercises into my day, though.

Re: Thyme Thursday
Hello everyone!
Is DPup's paw better today, KitKat?
L.Ann, that'a very scary thing to happen. So glad the neighbours son was not too seriously injured.
Bama, I sell a few things on eBay and it's a LOT of work. All the photos and writing the description (you can ask the eBay AI to do it for you, but you can always tell, and I find it uses too many clichés, so I prefer to write my own). And, if course, the wrapping and preparing for the post. I prefer to wrap everything before I lost, and put a note on the outside briefly describing the contents so I don't get confused, and so I can dispatch everything promptly. I think when this latest batch sells, I probably won't bother any more.
Helia and Dogged, you're both right - when I donate clothes that are almost new or just aren't "right" on me, I always think of the recipient and the joy it will hopefully bring them.
It's been an eventful day. The police arrived at the churchyard while I was cleaning the car, looking for a missing person. They were *very* I interested in the tents that have sprung up there ( currently three
). I didn't recognise the picture they showed me, but fortunately MQ arrived at that moment, and she did recognise him, and was able to give the police some information about where he may have been.
Church was good, and lunch was also eventful. DF E always gets there early and waits for us, but she wasn't there today. I gave it a few minutes and then rung her mobile, and then another few minutes and rung her landline. No answer on either, so I left not another few minutes and rang the manager at the retirement home and left her a message asking her if she could check to ensure E was ok (she is 100 yo, so we do worry). At that moment, J, the manager appeared in the pub. Apparently E had double booked herself with the lady who takes her grocery shopping. J, who always keeps a cool head told her to go shopping, as she needs to have food in the flat, and promised she would go and find us and let us know what had happened. Big relief all round!
After lunch, I went to the garden centre, ordered all the bark, compost and farmyard manure I should need for the season, and arranged delivery for Monday. And I also bought some hellebores for the back garden. I brought those home with me, so I'll plant them this weekend (weather permitting!)
Waitrose have delivered, the groceries are PA, I have cut Jude's and Matilda's nails, and everyone has been fed. Matilda has also had play time with her fishing rod toy (her latest obsession!
