Learning about myself that I probably talk too much. (This is no great revelation to any of us, myself included.)
I have a BIG question re: ChatGTP which I put in MO. Y'all please check that out.
Learning about my home... hmmm... it can survive a lot of neglect, apparently, as far as the WHB and other stuff goes.
I've been so wrapped up in getting this roof decision made that I have done almost NOTHING else. I'm pretty sure I've decided on the WHO to do it, but I'm really wavering on shingles or metal. Neither one is an absolute 100% foolproof solution, and the two highest priced ones both agree that shingles would be perfectly acceptable for my needs. So

I'm kinda at the point that I will just wait till the adjuster comes and if he says the insurance can give me enough to cover the extra cost of metal, I'll do that (but I do NOT expect that)... if not, I will go with shingles and get that deductible down to something reasonable in case I have to do this again in my lifetime.
do you see how valuable you are to your family, your home, your community?
Thank you, blessed. I guess I am... dgrands want to spend every weekend and school holiday with me, I'm teaching two classes at church and doing the secretary work for the church council, my mother needs me, sometimes DS and ddil need me... I guess they would miss me if I weren't here.
I'm glad your dmom had a better day!
Rose, I wish my bird was building outside a window! I have not put up anything to discourage her yet, but she persists in trying so hard to build a nest right above my back door! Every day I tear down the mud she has left, and every day she puts it back. And I NEVER see her. I don't when she gets in there, but if she is working when I'm awake, she sure gets out of sight quickly when I open the door.
Nancy -- WTG on all your projects! You are so busy! Oh, I LOVE Downton Abbey!!!
I recorded Lonesome Dove today. I hope to watch it after I am child-free again.

I can't believe I've never watched it all, but I think I got it all on the DVR today. It's 4 2-hr episodes. Plus I have 3 hours of the Chicago series on Wed. nights. AND last night's Boston Blue to watch. I'm about to have more on DVR than I have hours to watch!
Mystery, I have been saying to heck with it too often, I think. The middle of my day is when I lose all concept of routines too. I've got to get a grip on things.
LadyM -- I know you are doing the right thing, and setting a good example for ALL the young people surrounding you!
Cathy, we had wind and rain too, and it was warm today. We were likely to get another hail storm, but I think we missed it all. I think DS had to drive in a lot of rain though, so I hope it didn't get too bad on him.
Harriet, sounds like you and HRH have had a good day too.
Tomorrow we plan to go to church with dmom and eat out to celebrate her birthday, and then I expect I will come home and make up for the hour of sleep I'm losing tonight. I have set the clocks -- except the one in my bathroom that helps me stay on track in there. And the car -- it'll give me a moment of pause when we start to church tomorrow.
Y'all please check out my MO post. I got kinda spooked earlier today.
