Flashback alert!
Remember the banana hair clips from the 80's?
I decided that I needed them in my life again because they are so simple. I tend to change my hairstyle several times a week. When the weather is hot, I tend to put my hair up. When the weather is cold, I tend to wear my hair down. ANYway, now I have a new option to put my hair up off my neck. Do I care banana clips are not the current hair style? Nope. Not one iota

I have started 3 sweet potato slips in pots. This will allow them to get a good root start while I'm waiting to see if we get another freeze. They will be transplanted into raised beds after I'm sure they will survive.

Good afternoon! I've finally got a moment to sit. Just had a bit of very belated lunch. Not enticed or entranced, but just busy! After driving DC to school today, I got gas, came home, used & cleaned the bathroom, and I think I may have sit for a minute before stopping at the bank, picking up DC, taking them to their drivers' lesson, then racing home to use the potty before my mammogram. Lost my phone at the clinic for a minute but quickly got it back, then went to pick up DC, after which we went to the Korean grocery store near the driving school. We don't go there often, and when we do, it's for junk food. Other than picking up some tofu for me to try, the healthiest thing we got was some ramen, one pack of which just served as the aforementioned lunch. It's cream carbonara flavored, very yummy. The Korean ramen comes with a hot sauce packet as well as the powdered flavor packet. The sauce packet held at least a tablespoon and a half; I used maybe an entire teaspoon, and it packed a kick. I'm not sure I even made it to "white people hot." Anyhow, we got those, some ramune (soda pop), Turtle Chips (which are corn chips that look kind of like a turtle shell) in various flavors, and a bunch of candy. Finally, after all that, we came home.

I need to make myself eat something healthier -- something fibrous, in particular. I was not having any side effects from the Wegovy as long as I was keeping track of my protein and fiber, but with a party and dinner out this weekend, I didn't keep track, and now I am feeling it. Not a particularly high-fiber dinner planned -- salmon, rice and green beans -- but maybe I can get DH to cook up some brown rice instead. Every bit helps, I presume. I finally found the right sized containers to make chia pudding in last night; now I just need to actually make the pudding. Some of that for breakfast tomorrow will help with the protein and fiber.

I'm just wiped. I think I'll clean up my lunch and collapse until dinner. (But first, keep track of my food!)

Your banana clip looks lovely, LadyM!

we had a lovely visit with d sis in law and her sister - brothers wife - she is lovely
we had a really nice time - it's so different with brother not here - all the hateful things he says about his wife- sh doesn't know about his affair, his hatred he says has for her. I am not about to spoil that. to have all that hate inside of him, he says he has, has to be extremely destructive for him - not talking about stuff makes him an angry, vengeful soul.
it is always a joy to be here with you!

Dh and I both laid down this afternoon and I slept for over 2 hours. I must have needed it. We both started off reading. I asked dh to wake me at 3:30. Next thing I know, he's rolling over and then he says "It's 4 o'clock!" Even with the nap, I had supper on the table at 5.

Dh brought bedroom and living room garbage cans to the kitchen. It was all tissues, so it all went into the burnable bag.

MW that's how I felt after errands today. I rested and hydrated that helped.
This afternoon I was able to cut up the last two of the branches to get them to fit
for hauling off next week on pick up day yea for that. It did start to sprinkle a bit as
I finished up with the last one.

I'm trying to get back on track with my meal times and sleep schedule.
Some progress so that is good.

Popped out in the rain and raked leaves up by the roses I'd pruned the other day.

Peach tea sounds nice, Nancy.

Gee, that's a great report on your family visit, blessed.

Mystery, I have one word for you. Microwave-wrap sweet potato. I'm aware I ignored facts about the words. But this is easiest, no-hassle way to get fibrous warm comfort when maybe not feeling the very best. And can be a one-person meal when you're the only one who is thinking that way. I don't know why they are perfectly good this time of year, when it seems out of season, but somehow, they still are. Neat, easy-nuke, throw away, no mess.

DgsW came and mowed our lawn with his ddad's new mower. He loves it but he was bushed from both yards. Also really rubbing his face and eyes when he came in. He got a baby wipe  from Grandma. He seemed to really be content to sit and talk with me a while. But pretty soon, his ddad called and he was back to work. He did bring his little sister over later after he'd gotten everything done.

I had some time on my own, so used the quiet, and the kitchen/den bar again, for basting the next third of the quilt top. The children came in the mud room door while I was working on that, and we chatted about some family memories in the blocks.

HRH and I have each gone our own way with eating today. Having leftovers, etc.
LadyM, I'm proud of you for work toward schedule and menu-prep!

LadyM, my hair is often in a butterfly clip (I think they are called.) sometimes all the way up, sometimes half up/half down. It may not be the height of fashion, but I cannot stand my hair on my neck when it’s hot, not to mention how my hair practically doubles in size with the humidity.

I am dealing with a cough that may be allergies, but tomorrow is my annual check-in with the allergy doctor so maybe I can get some relief.
I’ve done nothing today except wait on the satellite man, who never came! I finally got online and they said the order was not completed correctly!!!
They (chat agent) said yo let the roofer remove it and then call them. I am just smh!

I may get in bed early and try for a better day tomorrow.
Tomorrow is another day.

Lady M, congratulations and kudos to DS17 for being such a principled young man and passing such a comprehensive drugs test. He has evidently had the best upbringing!😀

(Over here, weed , while technically still illegal, is the most widely used drug, especially among young people, and no one seems to bother much about it any more ... unless you're caught dealing, or are stupid enough to get caught driving "under the influence". Ketamine OTOH, is starting to be a big problem, especially with the devastating side effects that long term use can bring. :( )
