My current cross stitch project is finally finished. All I need to do is press it and then get it framed. Some of my projects wait for a few years before they get framed. I'm so happy this one is done. YAY!!
We had a friend pop by for a visit. All I did before he came inside was spray some Febreeze in the hall. Thankfully all 3 litter boxes and the kitchen garbage went outside this morning. We had no idea he was coming because dh always ignores his phone.
I am currently making some Indian food for supper. Butter chicken, Jasmine rice and I decided on plain boiled broccoli for the veg. Nothing Indian about that.

Re: Why Not on Wednesday? PWYC
We made it back to town with 3 minute to spare before picking DD14 up from school.
The tomato plant search was not completely successful. I didn't know until I got there that the truck was coming tomorrow with a fresh supply of vegetables and flowers. I decided to bring some home with me but they are damaged. Hopefully they will overcome their rocky start and be prolific producers. I have time to replace them if they don't rebound quickly.
In the "why didn't I think of this before?" category..... I put dirty clothes hamper in DD14 bathroom. She seemed happy about having a place to put her dirty clothes other than the floor.
Clothes search for 9th grade graduation continues. DD14 doesn't like anything so far.
Cathy - Congratulations on finishing it!
Blessed - what a thoughtful gift.

oh d cathy - congratulations on finishing it!!! wonderful. how nice to have a friend stop by - hope you have a good night sleep tonight
hi d lady hope you find the tomatoes you wanted
have a good cloths search - hope she finds something she loves
hi d Lucy - hope your allergy goes away or feels better
hope your stomach feels better
hi d rose
hi d harriet
hi d all.
I didn't get anything done but spent a nice day going over the Alsatian language with mom - counting etc. she is forgetting her language at times and then only speaking it. she loved that Alsace has created the written language - it was only a dialect up until recently - They are now teaching it in school. The language has changed some - as all language changes over the years.
w did a lot of songs and language lessons for me

Re: Why Not on Wednesday? PWYC
I put away all the floss I used on the Mason Jar project. Then I went down a rabbit hole... I started to google the discontinued DMC colours to see if I had any. Yes, I had some. The list online was a LOT longer than the list I had , which I got from some website or FBook page many years ago. So far, the ones I did have that are discontinued are all shades of red. Hmmm...
I also took out the next project that I had started sometime in the past 10 years. "Fred" AKA (full name of kit) Frederick the Literary Cat. (It shows a tabby cat sleeping on a bookshelf with the Aida being black. I had never done a project on black and I won't be doing another one. I will be taking advantage of the bright summer sunshine to help me get this guy done (hopefully) before Christmas 2026.
Dishwasher is finished. Some pots and pans got washed today.
I'm boiling some eggs as dh said he would like egg salad sandwiches tomorrow. I will have 2 HOT hard boiled eggs before I go to bed.
Dh needs help with his shower but he doesn't want the shower until Survivor is over at 9:30.

That's just brilliant, blessed. Mental agility and historic learning at the same time.
Yay for the finish, Cathy. You and I need better sleep - I had a dream last night that would have made Stephen King some serious money.
HRH had a dentist cleaning appt today and I took the opportunity to get some cleaning done with cleansers that have fragrances/odors that bug him. I like things done my way, lol. Also watched some tv I like, had a brunch I made just for me.
When he got home, which was quite a while, he said let's just turn around and go right back out and do some errands, so we did.
Back home, I fielded a call from dd27, all about her trip and how much she enjoyed a tour of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, especially the statuary, which she considered very inspirational, meaningful.
While she was still on the phone, dgdC knocked on the door so I handed the phone to her, and they enjoyed catching up, too. She and her big brother were bringing our trash can back and took some mail that had been misdelivered, to neighbors.
Decided to S2S this evening because we will need to leave so early in the morning for an appt. Hair is longer, of course - maybe I shouldn't have done that if I want it to have time to dry before the pillow. It is trying to remember its old favorite part now, and I'm trying to decide if that is to be considered smooth (positive) or droopy (negative) in relation to how I want my face framed. Hmmm... ..
LadyM, will you go back to the same place for more plants later or try another? I hope these do well for you - talk to them!
My long-time dear favorite small nursery, tucked into a rolling landscape of little greenhouses and shop areas, shaded walkways with walking bridge, has been sold to a developer. That town's planning board recommended against the development, but the board members voted for it. It will become a commercial/residential place, very modern. "Growth" is the bane of existence in so many ways. I'll have to start going to a chain store type nursery that has a thousand of a few popular things rather than small trays of many variety-oddities. Or maybe home improvement chains.
