Happy Good Friday to all who observe it, and happy regular Friday to all who don't!

Dogged, that's one very long call! Your brother and you have a special relationship to have these! I remember when the maximum lenght of a call was 65 minutes and then it cut you off. Yes, there were people with whom I could reach that time! :-)
kittykatt, well a fish-less pie is a good lent food too, but I can imagine it's not what you have in mind for today! :-)

Never got here yesterday. I did get the groceries and we did go to the movie theatre and that was about it. Project Hail Mary is a really good movie, especially if you are into space exploration and a bit of comedy. Ryan Gosling has that boyish quality to him and "I don't take myself seriously" that works great with a movie like this! DS enjoyed it very much too - he loves science/space movies, his choice for family movie nights will be things Apollo 13, Star Trek, or Martian :-)

Since we got home late, I decided to ditch the alarm and just let my body get as much rest as needed, resulting in sleep-in till 10am and another hour of reading in bed, and I don't feel even a little guilty about that! Still three and a half days to get things done and it will be easier to be productive when I am not running on fumes only.

Hi, Trissie and Helia!

Yay for a lovely sleep in, Trissie!

Helia, I think everyone is having trouble getting on here today. Bama mentioned she was having trouble just after midnight (UK time).

I'm hoping to get out in my garden this afternoon. It's drizzled on and off this morning, and I could do with some fresh air and exercise. Also my new rose arrived this week, and I'd like to plant that in its new pot, as I haven't got more appointments or anything I have to rush of to today!

I want to see that movie, trissie. Glad you got enough sleep for a change.
I've never had (or maybe even heard of?) fish pie, Kitty. Did dh make the crust as well? That's nice that he helped with the meal.

Helia, the fish pie has a mashed potato topping, and the filling also contains leeks and prawns as well as fish. I've taken a photo of the recipe:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/photos/share/F ... EXY4wj7SSM

The "fish pie mix" mentioned in the recipe is a bag with a mixture of different types of fish - cod, haddock, salmon etc. It's all ready trimmed, boned and sliced, and there's no waste, so it's really more economical to buy, as well as saving time.

Hello Bama and L.Ann!

Bama, I hope you have a lovely day.

L.Ann, are you having a family get together tomorrow?

I've had a couple of hours in my garden. It was too chilly to sit out there, but I managed to cut the grass, sweep the patio, weed and deadhead, and trim a few bits on the hedge. Hopefully it will be warmer and drier tomorrow, so I can plant my rose and take my time doing it.😀

Back inside, and just had a cup of tea and hot cross buns (traditional Good Friday fare!) with DH. I need to think about folding laundry next.
