~~~~Waving Hello to all~~~~
I am on my 6th hourly effort of the day and continue to enjoy the work/relax rhythm of writing down 3 things to do each hour.
DS17 called for feedback on his idea to purchase an older home. There is one that interest him that just came on the market. He asked if we would go with him to look at it later today. At this point, it is just a dream......but I highly support this type of goal that include his detail planning on how to make it happen. I remember taking DS17 to the pediatrician over a decade ago and being told he was about 4 years ahead physically of his age. That seems to be true in all aspect of DS17 life. He is eager to do things now that most do in their 20's.
DH has worked most of the last 2 hours on the vacuum cleaning to get it unclogged. When he took a break I looked at it and was able to clear the clog with minimum effort. I appreciate DH effort and willingness to help.....even though he is losing the capability to do things that use to be simple for him.
Mysterywoman, the orange vestments are for the first Sunday of the Month, it is for gun safety awareness, kind of a silent protest - my priest said he wished he had an orange set. I thought I can make a stole so I made one for him and the deacon but he is on 3 month Sabatical and Mother V is really little - he is like 6 foot and she is less than 5 feet and all stoles drag on the ground for her and Chasibles are practically floor length. So I want to make her a shorter stole. I get losing touch with friends who move even an hour a way - out of sight out of mind even when you don't mean to.
Nancy - you have had a productive day.
Cathy - yesterday I laid down for a 20 minute cat nap and slept 3.5 hours - I guess I needed that.
Lady M - great job on the 3 things per hour with reward - that is a great way to get 18 things done in 6 hours. I did that once when I had a huge list to do but my son slid in a new book to me that I really wanted to read. It was an easy read with short chapters so I did a job, read a chapter - did all of my jobs and finished the book in a day.
Harriet - I hope your eyesight come back to closer to normal soon. I have always wondered what does HRH stand for, I think it is your husband but unfamiliar with that acronym.
Lucylee - I really recommend Honey Gardens Propolis Spray (you can order from amazon) but if you spray your tongue at the back and suck air it will mist your lungs and totally get rid of coughs that don't go away. I used to have yearly bronchitis that would hang on 6 weeks = I read about a lung cleanse and I was using propolus for sore throats at the time and thought I would what would happen if I dosed it the way they said to do with lung cleanse. So I did and within 2 days my cough was gone and I haven't had that level of bronchitis again in over 20 years. I rarely get sick at all. I carry it in my pocket and when I cough, I spray 3 squirts and suck air. Quite Amazing but only get the Honey Gardens version.
Twins - wtg on taxes that is what I need to be working on now. I am not sure if I need deluxe or premium - we have cashed in some investments from retirement but those are on a 1099-R so not sure I need the premium. I guess I will get the Deluxe and upgrade if necessary.
Blessed - Did you get your woodfloors refinished?
I had a massage today, I get one every 2 weeks generally. I feel better. The weekend and all the activities really zapped my social battery. I need to go tutor tonight and frankly I really don't want to do it, but I will.
I have a couple of things I need to do that I also don't want to do. I need to watch 2 trainings I missed for the youth leader graduation and that is this Saturday and register for Saturday. Second I need to fill out an new I9 form which is wierd as I have worked there for 24 years. It is just busy work. We also need to go vote early.
Made myself a sausage egg & cheese mc-muffin for my lunch.
I've been moving slower intentionally today.
Hydrating now.
But getting smaller easy tasks done that I'd put off.
With breaks in between. Asked him
Way to go gals!
Dson called to check up on the mower situation. I got out and cleaned under it and it did start for me and I did lower the mower deck,
and did one strip around the outter edges. Got a few garden tools out to get to the power cord for a charging station to set up.
Still deciding where that will be. I texted dson to let him know it started okay this time. Had some $ left from that mower and ask him for a bucket of chicken some time. Glad I remembered and he knew the day of the deal on it too! :mrgreen:
I watched the rest of a series two episodes and did some knitting. I'm making progress.
I have a plan for dinner.
Because we are having a long time friend of dh's coming over, he wanted a shower. So I helped him with his shower and then I had one when he got out seeing as I was already wet.
The bed will have to be remade because dh got under the blankets and Baby Cat went to war with the blankets again!!
I went and got a package of spaghetti so we will have the rest of the sauce with freshly made pasta. If friend wants to join us I can add another can of sauce. The house smelled fabulous when I got home!
Of course all the garbage has been taken out and litter boxes are "clean".
Home from dentist. I seem to need a crown - my left upper back tooth has a crack and it has an ancient (I do mean ancient, probably childhood) filling in it. Ugh. Scheduled for next week so I'll get it done with at least.
Before I left I mostly assembled wreath, need to ask dh what he thinks. I also need to see if we have a wire cutter so I can complete it. Dh had lunch out and was going to Costco.
We have out lamb to grill for our dinner, probably with a baked sweet potato and perhaps asparagus or green beans roasted.
Costumelady, my dh says he attributes that to our dear former admin, Indiana, who passed away several years ago, whose dh was called "Mr. Indiana" here (along with several of our spouses who were referred to by the handles of SHE villagers in one way or another). She had been amused at my dh's response to being called "Mr. Harriet". He had said to tell her it wasn't that he objected, but that the correct title was, "His Royal Highness, Mr. Harriet". So, I posted that to her, thinking it would be funny and forgotten. Instead, she latched on to abbreviating it and began to post things for me to tell "HRH".
Not sure what normal eyesight even IS for this eye. :? It's always been mysterious. As a child, school eye tests showed 20/20 vision until contracting Measles in 3rd grade, and then my eyesight became, as dr explained to my ddad, "What you and I see across a football field she sees across this room". I don't really think it was that bad, but I was certainly in glasses since then. A few years ago, this left eye experienced some kind of change that stopped blood flow in a teeny, tiny vein and left me with a gray cloud right in the middle. Heavy duty prednisone dosage last year caused both eyes to have Rapid Onset Cataracts (on top of, probably, some normal aging cataract formation anyway). We understood they wouldn't even try with this sorta handicapped eye, but this surgeon wanted to, and it seems there can be a lot of help, so I'm delighted. It does kind of seem like 'round and 'round the wheel of eye fate goes, and where it stops nobody knows, but there's no pain and something changed, which is remarkable.
Nurse called and says that because my follow-up was different and had to be within hours, I couldn't be offered something they offer for most patients, which is the removal of the glasses lens on the surgery side, if eyesight returns normally. They couldn't do it, because of course things might still have gone wrong. But now hearing my answers to her questions, she suggests I go back, or to another location, and get them to do it. Thinking.
Italian for supper. Basically tossing some mozzarella and basil at noodles, lol. I am not being much of a chef today.
Hello, all!
Did not get here at my usual time because I had therapy today, and I wanted to cross one more thing off my master list before then -- put the finishing touches on my nightstand. It's all done, except that getting rid of so many items from the bookshelf means that I need bookends now, so I ordered some. Now I need to update my master list.
Rapid Onset Cataracts sound very scary, Harriet. I'm glad this treatment looks like it will help.
Hugs to you on the mail, Nancy. It is good to know you are getting better.
Last night's dinner went well, though it was, indeed, too short. Our server may have begged to differ about that, but we left before closing time and there were plenty of empty tables.
Going now to decide what's for dinner and plug it into the WW app. Have a lovely evening, everyone!
Our friend has come and gone. She had just been to another friend's home where she had a large mid-day meal and she said no thank you to our invitation to eat supper with us. Oh, well...
I was happy with how cleaned the house looked and smelled. When you have 3 cats in a very small house, smell matters most.
Dishwasher is ready to be turned on. I will be going to bed early.
The winery across the street has a German Shepherd dog. It has been barking non-stop for almost an hour. I don't want to go and complain but it's rather annoying.
