helia, we had 2 of ours plus 4 visiting girls overnight. I told them at 9pm that if something major happens, come wake me up, otherwise keep the noise down and do what you want. No idea when they went to sleep - or what they did, but there's henna stains in the bathroom so I have an idea :-)
Frenchie, I hear you on the fridge tetris! What did you do with the asparagus? I have some in the fridge too, because it's spring! :-)

Morning all. I'm here. Frenchie was that a surgery on your shoulder that I missed. Wow nurses coming to the home. Yes you did not miss a thing not having to wait at the hospital. That's amazing.

I am trying to decide what to do today. You know how many times do I say that and then nothing happens the way I plan. I cannot seem to be busy doing all day. Probably could have made a focused effort and at least took what I have collected to the church. And baked something small. Nope. I got my music folder ready and me ready. Ran to the store for kitties fancy feast and some bread for what ds was making for supper. Piano practice and I got a little intrigued by ds new skyline and cities game. I feel like that one is actually good for him. Planning designing cities and having to consider everything to keep it running smoothly.

Practice was 4. Went well. Home at 5. Gone again at 630 . The performance I think went well. We were first. And then 2 hours of Piano. Choral. Instruments. Spoken poetry. Very well done. There was a couple of dramatic speech things not to my taste but it was not a church event. The arts.

Anyway.. I need to get in the shower. Dh is going to church early to help make sure everything is back in order for service. I should go a little early for a non playing week as well. Make sure all the music stands are sorted so when they go back we get the right ones. And some other tech things to figure out.

And I will see he girl in charge of the food project and tell her I can make something today. The afternoon is off. No band tonight. Our leader is out of town and the helper leader is probably needing a break after busy time.

helia interesting to read about the rope skipping club. I could skip ropes with a criss cross move too, but nothing wilder. My sons skip rope sometimes so I show off a bit, then excuse myself after a dozen skips because I'm out of breath  and tell them "there, you try it" as an excuse.

Laura I had a cyst removed (from old acne going wild a month ago), the wound was deep so it needed professional care. yes, we are lucky in France, we can have daily nurse visits at home for free.

trissie, henna stains ? I'm so glad I have boys. As for asparagus, I boil them until they're just tender and eat them with mayonnaise or salad dressing. MrNG loves it too, and the kids eat some. There are great recipes for asparagus and I do cook that sometimes with tinned or frozen asapragus, but when they're in season and fresh I just want to enjoy the real taste. We have a lot of cheap asapragus from Spain, the green ones, but right now there are French ones, the green type or the white type with a purple tip, and they taste so great ! I suppose you will have mostly the white ones ? It seems they are the most common type in Belgium / Germany so maybe it's the same in your area ?

L.Ann thanks for sharing your menus again. You have another busy week ahead, but I see you're finished with all the medical appts ? (for now)

I walked and mailed my letter at the post office letterbox, lots of sun, had some time in the garden with DS7, now DS7 will go with MrNG to the table tennis spot, and DS10 has done some gardening with his dad and will probably not want to go shower, he will ask for screen time instead, and I will have to say no.
Then leftovers for dinner, and then the big challenge : find ways to have the kids go to sleep at a decent hour, to be back to school tomorrow morning...

TADAs
got kids outside
mailed the letter
eye cream for my eye inflammation (I think it's almost finished)
read a bit, relaxed a bit
leftover dessert for afternoon snacks

TODO
pic sorting and putting into photo book : February
wash hair
have MrNG take car of my shoulder wound (the nurse won't visit until Monday)
vacuum upstairs
post list for the week
leftovers for dinner, probably
get kids to bed early - how ?

Hello, all. It's a glorious sunny day, warm enough to have the patio door open a little. I got Germane out for a carry yesterday, and it looks good for today.

Thank you for starting us off, Kittykatt. Enjoy church and your visit.

FrenchFly, I am happy to say that the weather where I am is nicer than Saskatoon's. We are quite a bit further south than them. I figured that the clip would give a laugh to our gardeners here. But that said, we do have a shorter season than the U.S. I remember when my foster parents moved to New Jersey, they found that the farmers there get an extra crop in every year, and they are not that much further south than we are.
Your barbeque dinner sounds fun. A good chance to step away from daily concerns.

Your garden sounds wonderful, trissie. I hope that you get to spend some time in it.

I hope that you feel better, kitkat. Take it easy!

helia, I loved to watch the skipping contests from Africa. Those girls were talented athletes. I can imagine that your girls were very impressive.
I love that the birds are now demanding better service. Wait until they figure out that there's a camera on the feeder and that they can call for service from their table.

I am at the end of Page 1. Time to get up and do something.
What will I do to live up to Kittykatt's SHEM? I will start the packing. There's plenty that can be packed well ahead of time to reduce the strain on my joints on the day of the trip.

Hello, everyone!

FFB, mmmm, asparagus! Our local asparagus should be in about now (it's usually available from St George's Day until mid June).

Trissie, it sounds like fun was had by all the girls at your house! :D

Dogged, I would certainly not like to have to deal with the weather and temperature in that video clip! :D

Helia, you were very talented with the skipping rope!

L.Ann, I hope you had a nice walk with your friend .

Laura, that was a full day yesterday!

KitKat, I hope your cough goes away soon.

Today the Bishop came to take the service, so it was a bit longer than usual. It was also less than harmonious behind the scenes, as WW3 has broken out over the coffees. (Yes, it's always the trivial things that cause the most problems!) I am having to do a lot of soothing of ruffled feathers, and also out out a request for more volunteers. (Sigh!)

Today's menu was baked ham with maple syrup glaze, roast potatoes, gravy, carrots peas and broccoli, followed by tiramisu . We've just watched the King's Speech, and Matilda is still on my lap. When she gets off, I'll go and do something outside.
