I've had notification that Fred's 6 month health check with a nurse is due . He had a thorough exam at the end of March, and all anyone can do with him when he's awake , is weigh him in his carrier and then do the maths. So I don't think there's any point in me bringing him in just so he can swear at everyone in the waiting room, and terrorise a poor nurse! Lovely receptionist agreed with me

How do you readers make time to read? Early morning or right before bedtime or …? I just can’t seem to get there.
Another busy day here, need to bless this house, pack up dog supplies and pack for me. Heading to Tuscaloosa for dd2’s graduation this weekend. Feeling a little overwhelmed so trying to take small bites and not think about the big picture for now.

I'm sitting in my hairdresser's home with foil in my hair for the highlights. I just made a grocery order. If I have time after this, I'll look at my prep for class tomorrow. Glad I brought my laptop.

Bama, when I read, I do it later in the evening, close to time for bed. It's a way to wind down; at that point, I'm not good for much else.

Hi, all. I am celebrating that the weather gods are smiling on me. The heavy rainfall warning has been lifted and they are forecasting nothing more threatening than clouds for today. For which I am grateful, as today is Seniors Day at the pet food store, so time to stock up on what Germane may or may not eat. So I can go out when it's convenient and not worry about being washed away, LOL.
Germane is having digestive issues, so I am going to have to throw out the rest of that topper that we tried. My db won't mind if I cook her some food at his place.

Thank you for starting us off, Kittykatt. I hope that things work out for the parish lunch. Sorry for DH's loss.
Big WTG on Jude's weight loss! The biggest hurdle with fat cats is to stop them from continuing to put on more weight and you have accomplished that the whole time that she has been slimming.

I did a little check of the grocery store near my db's house. It has a different name, but is part of the same chain as the grocery next to mine, and they stock the cheap frozen fish that I cook for Germane and they have it in stock. And for some reason that I can't explain, they have sole for the same price as basa with that brand. So I can just buy her fish after we arrive and not worry about travelling with fish going off in the car. I will, of course, have some fish cooked for the trip.

Good to know about the reading, Helia and KitKat. Once I’m in bed I usually fall asleep, first thing in the morning I feel like I need to move around, so may have to work out a late afternoon reading time and go from there. Who knew this would be a problem, certainly not young me. I’ve always loved to read.

Hope trip planning is going well dogged. I’m sure db is excited to see you.

Good idea to prepare for things in advance Lann. I finally sat down to learn the 2 apps for our trip and our flights have been changed so that is probably good to know.

For flyers, can I take a piece of luggage for overhead plus a book bag plus a purse or just 2 of the above? Trying to condense as much as possible without having to keep track of too much, especially stowaway.

It’s a TDD day for sure. I’m lost.

Congratulations to DD2 on her graduation, Bama. They grow up so fast!
I can't speak for the others, but I'm only trying to look after one room and one pet, so if I have more time to sit down and enjoy a book, I don't think it's because I'm organizing my time better than you.

Dogged, I think I just put off reading until everything is done and that never happens. Maybe learning to relax should be my may habit, might even lower my bp.
I’ve been to many funerals the past few years and I’ve seen pretty much every level of dress. The funniest thing was when dd’s boyfriend had on the same boots as the funeral director at mom’s funeral and it lightened the mood. Boots aren’t a normal attire and her then bf never met a stranger so that was a good memory.

Pets done. Went through a box of mom’s stuff and emptied it. Dd is much better at getting rid of stuff but I’d rather go a little slower, at least it’s getting done. She has all rooms emptied and in a big pile in the living room waiting on me. Dusted. Packed dog food and snacks for boarding.
