Are y'all sitting down? Guess what I just did?
* TA DA *
I started working on that NokBox. (NOK = Next of Kin).
I just started thinking about how I had already spent some $ on the basic kit, and I already had about half the folders I needed, and it was just silly not to try to fill out the pages.
It's kinda morbid, in a way, like if I am preparing for death, does that mean it is imminent? I know that is silly. And I know how it was sorta overwhelming to get all the stuff I needed when dh passed away, and I live right here in the same house where he filed things away... so someday, it will certainly be likely that DS will have to come in here and find a bunch of papers for ME... and if I maintain (?) dh's filing system, that will be insane.
ALSO, it is my plan that as I do this, I will tell dmom about it and * perhaps * make sure I know where her important papers are.
Anyway, tonight, the first thing to do on the check list was to put the 15 major headings in the plastic tabs on hanging files. These are things like "Primary Residence," "Vehicles," "Mortgage," "Bank Accounts," etc.
I also washed dishes and ran the dishwasher, made out a Wmart order to pick up tomorrow, filled out my planner for the week, and texted the teacher group to make sure we were meeting this week. I need to send an email re: that meeting (Wednesday) and tomorrow I will send a group text. There is one lady who fusses if we start texting too late

so I have to watch out for that. Once people were still answering texts after 9:00 pm and she texted back and told us it was time to go to bed.
Planner highlights -- ballgame tomorrow night, Wednesday has yoga, teacher group lunch, and final Wednesday night class before summer break. Friday is Awards Day for dgs (8:30 in the morning). I also may need to do school pick-up for dgd on Tuesday, because DGS has his semi-annual gastroenterologist appt in Big City. He's been doing pretty well, I think, for the most part. He takes an OTC antacid every day (unless he forgets.)
LOL, once I saw my dad layer two pairs of glasses AND try to use one of those big round magnifying glasses! It IS much simpler to use the phone camera and zoom in.
Another LOL -- thinking about LadyM and LordM playing "Name That Tune." Last night I showed DGS the Honeymooners episode where Ralph is on a TV show, trying to win $99,000 by naming popular songs and their composers. He has Ed over at his apartment, on a rented piano, playing tunes to help him prepare. Every time Ed starts a song, he plays a little intro of Suwanee River to warm up. He never says what he is playing, just plays the first first few bars with a little flourish at the end. This drives Ralph crazy (but he never asks what Ed is playing). When he gets to the show the next week, I think the first question is about Suwanee River. Ralph is completely stumped, and the pianist backstage plays those first few bars. * Spoiler Alert * Ralph says, "THAT"S Suwanee River???" Even if you know what's coming, the look on Jackie Gleason's face makes this all worth watching -- he mumbles and stammers and finally, when the show host says, "Yes, who is the composer of Suwanee River?" Ralph finally says, "Ed Norton?"
If you have never watched The Honeymooners, I strongly advise you to check them out. Ralph is full of bluster and big talk, but he's a big teddy bear. At the end of almost every show, he says to Alice, "Baby, you're the greatest."
I remember seeing short skits of the Honeymooners on the later episodes of The Jackie Gleason Show in the 60s. DH introduced me to the full-length programs. I found a gift bag once with a picture of Ralph on it, and every Christmas, one of dh's gifts would be in that bag.
DH was something of a "Ralph" about some things too... oh my goodness, he would have been steaming about waiting till 1:30 to sit down and eat today... but when it was all said and done, he'd try to make the best of it.
(((HRH))) I hope all goes well at the dentist, Harriet. I bet the tulips are beautiful. I love tulips.
Also thinking of blessed and hoping she and her mom had a good Mother's Day.
Cathy, I guess black and navy pants + white cats does add up to a laundry problem.

Good for you on getting so much done today!
Oh. My. Goodness. How I wish ddil would let me get in her laundry room and get them caught up on all that. Y'all would not BELIEVE how the clothes are piled up in there. I have no doubt that at the bottom of the pile, there are clothes dgrands outgrew two years ago.
I dreamed last night that I made a remark about their house and ddil and I got in a huge fight. * DON'T WORRY, IRL, I AM DOING MUCH BETTER AT KEEPING MY MOUTH SHUT.
I know I have skipped over a lot of personal responses, but I have certainly talked enough. I'm going to take my shower.
