Was up early to water my outside plants.. I threw a few extra seeds in the beds because I noticed not all that I planted a while back seem to be poking through the dirt.

Did morning routines then Sweeties breakfast. Worked in my laundry room hanging some of my wreaths on the wall. Then cleaned Einstein. Also went through my desk in my guest bedroom and decluttered and reorganized it

About to make Sweeties lunch and then will tackle my office.

I have a redwing black bird nest in one of my palm trees. It’s only about 7’ above ground. We have to pass underneath it to water my plants and the parents aren’t happy with us

Oh well such is life… I keep talking to them in hopes they realize we wish them no harm.

I'm up, slept in because I couldn't sleep last night. Was past 1:30 before I was asleep and I slept until almost 10. I've been edgy waiting to hear something from dcousins about a service or any arrangements so that was probably the source of sleeplessness. (this was from much earlier)

I texted with cousins this a.m. and they are having a private viewing and then private funeral (including us) on this Friday at 11. I hate that it is so far away, feeling in limbo until then but that's how it is. This week I need to get pre-planning for research while I'm at the conference. I'm still dithering about logistics. I think now I am leaving next Sunday, driving Sunday and Monday. Check in there Monday afternoon with Tuesday at library. Check in for conference begins on Tuesday p.m. and I'm going to two "extra" workshops on Wednesday. The exhibit hall opens that evening and plenary session is Thursday a.m., conference runs Thursday through last sessions Saturday which end at five p.m. Up in the air about whether to drive a couple or three hours Saturday after conference, or check out there on Sunday a.m. and head out. I have to be home on Monday p.m. for annual HOA meeting.

Today? I'm not doing anything. Dh is going to baseball game with dfriends but unless something changes I'll sit this one out. We'll be at the river some with A and V tomorrow. I also will have a car to drive for tomorrow to see if I like it before committing.

I'm not wanting to nap today. I hope I'll be tired enough to sleep tonight.

I ordered more of my zinnia seeds. I have many tiny tomato plants coming up but not so many zinnias.

Got to the garden center. It wasn't busy at all although from the looks of things inside they may have had a busy morning. All dh wanted was tomatoes and sweet red peppers. I got a chive plant because our other one is very sparse this year so far. It was pouring rain when we went back out to the truck. There is a lot of thunder and lightning here. TV satellite keeps shutting down. It's hard to watch baseball when we keep losing the signal.

I don't feel like doing much of anything today. We will go to the river tomorrow, and I will drive the loaner car to see if I like it.

I need to:
s2s
clean up kitchen and run dishwasher
what else?

Not sure that I'm doing anything.

I've spent some time watching a couple of my favorite utube channels.
Peter Santenello is a favorite because he travels and shows life in different parts of the world. He is currently doing a series on Arkansas and just released video where DS52 and family live. It includes where DGS19 attends university. I don't agree with all that Peter says but I do like to listen his viewpoint.

I also watched cattle gathering & shipping happening in my state. I've been a part of this type of thing and watched DBro do it for decades. It brings back some good memories.

DD14 just told me that she wants to open a bank account to have for her paycheck. WHAT?! I'm starting the think this girl is enjoying the work experience and will want to continue. Although this is only her 2nd day so the honeymoon period may still be happening.
DS17 told me again today how much he LOVES his job and is so thankful that he gets to work there.

ANYway, I guess a bank account needs to happen for DD14. They won't let a minor open an account so I will have to be on it with her.

Even though my kitchen is an absolute mess, I decided to make chocolate chip raisin cookies. From scratch. Now the kitchen is an absolute mess, but it smells really good!

Cathy, your logic is perfect.

Bird Life in Wington
I enjoy hearing about the birds. Nancy has somehow made a little fun-fair for them, I imagine - the ins and outs of a new pile.
LadyM, I guess Mockingbirds are my favorite songbirds. I still have the recording of one with so much vocabulary I lost count.
Ramblin', I hope the Redwings decide there are worse neighbors than you.
We think our Carolina Wren is quiet because she's gone into brood and is transfixed with motherhood. Hopeful but wondering.
Whippoorwills every evening.
lucylee, has your evening singer calmed down?

Thank you, Twins' and Ramblin', for reseeding. I am living vicariously through the seed packets of others, you know.

My season of waiting until release and having to mostly just buy plants is going fine, but is also a one-year course in seed appreciation. Not the cheapest year.
Then searched for pots and had sticker shock, too. Inexpensive ones are either sold out, backordered or too small. I'd made the mistake ( ? ) of saying out loud wouldn't it be nice if there were some blue ones. (Our brick house's trim is a Wedgewood blue.) HRH wouldn't hear of any other color, then, thinking he would buy me a single, too expensive and breakable present that arrives in the future. I argued him into getting the WMart price on a set of 2 "resin" ones that can come tomorrow.

I love the Mockingbirds. They are so vocal and animated. Fond memories of them teasing our cats way back when. I have one now that hangs our on the chimney next door early and has a lot to say about the world. (State bird of Tennessee, btw.)

Talked to a dcousin tonight - he's the son of a deceased first cousin. I remember when his mom and birth father came to see us when he was a baby. Wants to know if he can come for private family service on Friday to represent his uncles, the first cousins that I was authorized to contact. So I'll send that to cousin tomorrow. He's applied to the SAR on the DAR line that I pioneered. He's a nice guy, a Methodist pastor.

I hope I feel like adulting tomorrow.

We made a grocery order and got that in and put away.

I tested out the reading glasses at the sewing machine - so far, so good.
