One appt is done. The drive took 5 times as long as the appointment.
Being gone for multiple appointments in the middle of the day means I'm not home to cook. So on the way out of the city, I went through Taco Bell drive through and brought home a dozen tacos. I didn't check if they are gluten free but I'm hoping the corn shells are. A TB taco is 156 calories so easily fits in my food parameters for the day.

Just saw that because I was helping dh outside.

She is basically being invited to use one of our raised beds to grow whatever she wants. She mentioned to dh last year that she wished she had a garden. She has a car and I think she is still working near us, so she can come over whenever she wants. Knowing dh he will water it if she can't came and do that.. (What's one more bucket?)

I have washed my hair gotten food out to thaw for meals.
Walk happened or at least part of it.
Bagged up and containerized 4 piles of seeds in the driveway.
That's a relief.

I have clean sheets on my bed.

2nd appointment of the day is accomplished. What a hoot it is to go to family doctor office. There is high professionalism happening but additionally there is a lot of lighthearted chatter & friendly interactions from all the staff. DS17 is still using the sample of Ozempic (instead of having a prescription) but this office didn't have any samples available. One of the nurses volunteered to pick up a sample for him in the city and bring it to the local office on Wednesday. The family doc & staff have taken care of DS17 most of his life, so they consider him one of their own. Today they called him out for having a hickey on his neck. I was enjoying having someone beside me telling him to "knock that off"!

I have an hour at home before leaving again to do school pickup. This is the LAST MONDAY of school.

Coming back through after my workout. Great workout, always is good for me. I hope I sleep better. Last night I slept well after I got to sleep.

I feel like this is the afternoon shift. I added some Liquid IV to my water tumbler here. I forgot it when I went out the door to my workout. Managed to get to CVS and post office so that happened.

Things I have done today:
-scheduled meeting with temple administrator to talk to her about cemetery matters
-post office for HOA - that stuff goes upstairs to deal with tomorrow hopefully
-scheduled a walk-through in cemetery with tree people, I know there's one tree that needs to come down but may be more
-called vet re: payment that I needed to make
-pulled out at stamp to make a graduation card.
-paid an HOA bill online through our bank account
-ordered instacart for tomorrow a.m. delivery
-checked online balances for my accounts and for HOA and cemetery
-dog walked, new neighbor welcomed, social committee informed, lol.

I think I'm done for today. Still need to water indoor plants and deadhead geraniums so they'll keep blooming.

WHERE HAVE I BEEN??? I thought maybe I had been out of the loop for a couple days, but I think it has been FOUR days since I last got on this computer! My goodness... dgrands have been keeping me busy and I have got to manage my time better when they are here! Now... to cuop... I've missed you ladies!!!

Okay... I see that Amelia Earhart is a FURbaby... glad I cleared that up for myself -- I was thinking, what have Rose and Sweetie been up to... ohhh... a toy Yorkie... I know she is ADORABLE!!!

LadyM, I bet seeing ds getting ready to graduate and making $$$ is getting dd looking forward to the day she can be all grown up, too!

It's been pretty sizzling here today and yesterday. Since next Monday will be the unofficial start to summer for us, I guess it is to be expected. It is 72 degrees right now, at 10:00 pm, and the high tomorrow is supposed to be 90. * whew *
I will be expected (by dgd) to take her swimming regularly. Sigh. Twice a week will be just about my limit, but I will try to do it because (1) I think it is very important that she (and dgs) keep up with their swimming skills and (2) I need to get something out of my $275 dues. (It's a membership-only pool that is almost close enough for us to walk to from my house and my inlaws were some of the original members/builders. Dh and I only had to continue paying yearly dues, so I have kept it up, even though I never even get in the pool! The water is always VERY cold!)
BTW -- I told dgd this weekend, I am NOT going to take her swimming if she does not keep her underarms shaved! That just looks embarrassing to me.
She is going to middle school next year and is definitely growing up quickly.
She is a little sad about leaving the elementary school. She has really loved her teachers and had a good experience. I'm so thankful for that.

I still hear the birds chattering outside my bedroom window at night. Not every night, but pretty often. Any ideas what they might be? I haven't noticed them in the daytime, but I'm not in that part of the yard much.
I love the redwing blackbirds that Rose mentioned.

I had to teach Sunday School yesterday, too, Aflyer! And yes... some chaos. I had two four year olds, one kindergartner, one fourth grade, one fifth grade, and dgs, age 13. He is the only child regularly in church above 5th grade, and there is no class for him. AND ddil just found out that our youth director resigned today. (She did Wednesday nights for the youth, which was better attended, but EXTREMELY chaotic, and a source of great concern for the children's director. She was also our music director, so we are going to be in quite a bind when the new pastor arrives July 1.)

That movie sounds good, Harriet -- I love Sally Field. I do not have Netflix... and I am trying to leave my Directv account alone for a while. I think I've changed it three times in the past month. SMH...

LadyM -- I saw that you are still looking for the missing tax paper. I must share a JOY from my dmom --
She believed that she lost a gold tennis bracelet several years ago at dgs' piano recital. It was a 50th anniversary gift from my dad, and she was totally broken-hearted about losing it. We called the church where the recital was, but no one had turned it in... no one had contacted the piano teacher about it... it was just gone. Just this weekend, she was in her spare room closet, looking for patriotic things to put on her all season Christmas tree, and -- There Was the Bracelet, just lying on the shelf! She was completely dumbfounded... she certainly didn't remember having it on after the recital, and she just can't imagine when it ended up in that closet. I told her, the recital was about this time of year, so she was probably doing the same thing -- looking for those decorations -- when it fell off.
She said she is NOT wearing it again until she gets a "guard chain" put on it.

Well, I know I have missed a lot of you in personal replies, but I feel like I've gotten at least a broad overview of what's been going on here.

Friday, I did check in, I think, but never posted, because y'all were in the Conga line and I knew I wasn't going to be doing any congo-ing, LOL. I had to get up early and go to dgs' awards day. He received certificates for A honor roll and top five in science, and three certificates for some sort of computer thing they do -- i-Ready. He says those don't count because they are "fake." I don't understand exactly why he thinks that way, but he does not enjoy it and thinks it is too easy, from what I can tell.
Tomorrow is dgd's awards day, and ddil said we should not expect her to get anything -- she may have A/B honor roll, but ddil isn't sure. She is a good student, but not as scholarly as dgs. OTOH, with the elementary school, every student gets to walk across the front of the auditorium and receive a packet with their report cards and any certificates they have been awarded, so she will have her little moment in the spotlight regardless.

Tomorrow is also election day here -- primary, before the general election in November. We will be electing a sheriff, some county commissioners and other offices, AND governor. Some of these will be basically decided tomorrow, because they have no opposition from the other party, so I'll be watching tv tomorrow night to see how things turn out.

Then... summer in full force. Dgrands would like to spend every night with me, alternating nights. I told dgs today, "You can have Th/Sat and dgd can have F/Sun. Nana has to have some quiet time to herself." And MAYBE I can teach myself * and THEM * some better habits. I will also go broke trying to keep them fed.
I am still so frustrated with the way ds/ddil do housekeeping. I know they don't want anyone in their house -- they do let the lady spray for pests, and they let the carpenter friend in, but generally, they will meet people at the door and talk in the carport. They will not hear of letting ME in to help clean or do laundry. I actually discussed this with ChatGPT tonight. Chat says I must remember they are extremely busy with jobs, and children, and everything they do, and they do not have the same priorities I do. It also said that when the children get older and their lives calm down a bit, they might actually feel the need to get things on a more organized track.

One more thing -- I have a terrible "catch" in my back tonight. I sat with the heating pad on it for a long time, and it is still bothering me. I can't reach my arm around to it, but it is worse when I try to breathe in deep or release a breath. That gives me a sharp stabbing pain, just below my right shoulder blade. Maybe a shower with the massage mode will help. And some Aleve.
