Good morning! Trying to get back into routines today. Bible done!
Need to cuops but will have to wait. Dh just messaged from his room the dirt is on its way. We had some trees removed and the equipment left ruts so they are sending dirt to fill them. Need to put on outside shoes and get busy. Bbl.

Home from work. It's lovely and sunny outside, and DBD's room is a nightmare, so I will have to deal with these two things as a priority!

trissie - it's wonderfully efficient to be able to make our calls from the car... yet, I wonder if those few moments spent in peace, like back in the "old days" were better or not?

Dh is good, thanks for asking. His pain rx is wearing off so he’s uncomfortable (this rx is not quite as strong as the first one I think) and nauseous (from the med) so taking it pretty easy. Not much of an appetite. He did go out and sit on the porch to watch the dump trucks lol.

I’ve dusted, vacuumed, filled water and food bowls, scooped litter boxes, medicated Tux, washing one couch cover, backfilled menus in planner for past two weeks, dogs out and in, recyclables placed outside to be walked to bin later, dirt here, messaged yard guy that’s coming Saturday to clean up fence row to ask about spreading dirt, water…

Next is sweep porch and water plants.

kitkat, I do enjoy those quiet rides home - the only time I can listen to my music uninterrupted! But a friend needed some legal advice so I just used the car ride time for that.

I'm sure Casper appreciated his walk and didn't mind the rain, Lauralind. I remember having to separate the Sams' coats to allow the bathwater to reach their undercoat. They have some impressive waterproofing.

That is cool that you got to see manatees in their own habitat, Gma.

Thank you for another interesting start, trissie. Kittykatt, I can imagine how fast people scrambled out of the water so soon after Jaws came out.

kitkat, that is so sweet that your ddog loves your DGD.

We are hot here too, helia. It's not too bad in front of the fan, though.

Bama, I'm glad that your DH is on the mend, if not actually comfortable. Woo hoo for dirt that arrives when invited to. If we could get it to leave on command, we'd really have something.

kitkat, I think that a big advantage that we have is that the walls haven't heated up yet. Later in the season, the air conditioners have to fight that.
I hope that your heating pad does its job so that you can concentrate on cooling yourself down.

L.Ann, your lists will help you out with figuring out where you are.

Cleaned up after dog and floor for about an hour
Checked the slow cooker and turned it off. According to the thermometer it is badly overcooked, but it’s still perfect. You just can’t mess up a cottage roll.
Picked up Germane’s food
Gave Germane her heart pill.
Went back to bed
Put a pot of rice on to cook. Used 50% water and 50% fatty broth from the slow cooker
Made Germane a little “probiotic casserole”. She ate the fish and I hope the probiotic, but the dog food is still sitting rejected in her dish.
Went back to the kitchen to turn on the rice. Found that most of the dog food has been eaten, but now Germane is throwing fish on the floor because it’s not ham.

Dogged, Germane has made it very clear that her preference at the moment is for ham, subject to change at any time without warning, I guess!

I've made the most of a wet day, and sorted out some admin jobs, mostly by sending and receiving numerous emails. But I was finally able to do the annual meds review that the health centre had requested online. (I am not making an appointment in person just to say "everything is fine". I'd rather save those appointments for people who are struggling, or who can't use computers or phones easily, or getting unacceptable (to them) side effects). The sitting room is clean and tidy, and everyone has been fed.
