I spent some time in the garden, in the kitchen and visiting with some lifelong friends. I am no longer mad, but simply resolved to make some changes & move on with life. In the overall grand scheme of things, DS52 was going to have to be involved in our finances eventually. I thought it would be after we died. We just moved up the timetable a bit with getting him involved now. DS52 enjoys dealing with all aspects of stock, bonds, investments, etc so this is not difficult for him to jump in and help me with the decisions. I just wish our financial advisory of 30ish years hadn't failed us. I considered him a friend and don't like letting relationships end. ***deep breathe*** Moving on.....
Our ready-to-eat tub in the refrigerator is overflowing now. Two types of chicken, rack of ribs, 2 types of sausages, deviled eggs, hamburger patties....along with multiple side dishes. Depending on how much the teens eat, I might not need to cook for a day or two.
Now it is time for me to get back to regularly scheduled program of life.

Stay curious. Challenge assumptions. Success loves persistence.

I went to knitting. On the way to knitting I stopped at one bank. We have more money in there than I realized.
How the heck does that happen? It was a nice surprise.
Then when I got home, our tax info was in the mail box. Dh owes a bit, so there goes that money. The funny thing is that the money deposited by the Canada Revenue Agency last week is now going to pay the Canada Revenue Agency the next time I go to the bank. Sheesh.

Update (not bad but not great) in J&C for dmil from dsil.
Dh watered the garden tonight. We need to go get a new beefsteak tomato plant. One of the ones dh planted last weekend broke as he was planting it and it's not doing good.

LadyM, I was astonished at myself getting emotional last evening, so can imagine you did the same, being closer, I'm sure, to the doings of dd14's classmates. Congratulations to her on all, and also on enjoying the summer work experience.
Mystery Man is like my dh in getting almost disappointed that others notice good things and compliment. But I think it is wonderful that Mystery Man got appreciation for jobs well done, extras.
I have asked WonderBoy what his rank in class was. No, he explains I did not miss it in the ceremony, the ten were all informed only valedictorian and salutatorian would be named, and told in advance who they were, practiced where they themselves would line up alphabetically. He had been at 3rd before the last semester or last recorded ranking, and knew those two girls' consistency, so just decided he didn't want to know whether his ranking slipped or not. In the state online academy, the seniors know their code to get into their transcripts, etc., but parents do not necessarily know, and dd is keeping her hands off of it until he's ready to peek, thinks he is probably at 4th. He doesn't want to look while he's at his aunt's house.
They have been caring for aunt's children in turns, while aunt took individual ones to dr's checkups. When I called, they were entertaining the one-year-old, so they are having a very good time, lol. They'll drive home Sunday, in advance of what may be the most traffic, because dd doesn't have Monday off.
I've cut up potatoes and am making stewed potatoes at the moment. A little butter, house smells good.
