Yes, thinking of those categories also Harriet.

-Personal Growth: continuous genealogy webinars/conference/learning, also learning about the cemetery and GIS tools. I have enough on my plate there.
-Well-being: need a more nutritious diet but I'm not always hungry. I really need to consult with a doc/physical therapist about some of my aches and pains, and need a doc appointment for annual blood work and other follow up. I do workout twice a week when I can, and I do walk, although it's not always as consistent as I'd like. Mental states? I crave periodic creativity.
-Engagement: I'm thinking that I may be "over-engaged." Although I dislike leaving the house for lunch out and meetings, I have the cemetery and HOA on my plate. Also genealogical writing that I'm not able to do probably falls within "being meaningfully connected to your work.

Always room for improvement, but I feel I'm thriving.

LadyM, I didn't realize you had experience with cemetery mapping. When I did a genealogy course on land and mapping, the instructor recommended ESRI training for those who would like to learn more. Do you have recommendations also?
The decades-old paper records were shockingly poor in condition and accuracy.
Our records begin in 1866 with a card system. We're not using the original cards, they were updated long ago to new cards. Our map is from the 1940s and there are several copies of them, updated inconsistently. And then there's a spreadsheet which I compiled from the cards in 2005, and arranged so it would be sorted by name, plot number, vacant or not, and several other parameters. It's been updated since then by individuals who perhaps did not have the best understanding of excel and sorting. So it takes a combo of all of those records. And then there's been the multiyear project of GIS mapping, which one of our board members has funded, and the guy who is currently president has done all the uploading and data entry with a professional and refused our assistance.

I hope your headache improves with a trip to the library, RR. Nice and quiet and no interuptions! I know those little ones are enjoying your walks.

Waving to Cathy. IKWYM about achy hips, although mine affect my sleep a lot of nights. I'm a side sleeper and go from side to side all night.

Nancy, I like your two or three minute rounds. I did some clean up last night of the kitchen and counters knowing that dcleaning lady would be here. I was on the run and dropping things on counters and table as I can through.

Need to get ready for workout, although I'm on a roll here and hate to stop. I've settled the issue of whether the couple is buried in our cemetery (photo on Find a Grave in our cemetery). Also compiled to dos and some priorities, although my mind is still pinging me. While I'm out this afternoon I need to put gas in the car, wash the car, go to the post office for HOA and pick up a script.

Dh and I are going out to eat tonight - next door neighbor is going with us and another couple may join us.

Dh cut the grass in the back of the yard and I did the front. Now hopefully that will be the only time until next Thursday.

I made a macaroni salad and bought a small potato salad. I also bought myself a chocolate bar on the way through the cash.

Dh is laying down. I'm going to go read. I think he has the a/c on in there.

Home from workout with a lot of stretching, and spine and neck stretching. Some strength and cardio. Ran four of five errands - drugstore, UPS store, post office and gas. I decided to defer the car wash - it needs it badly - but I need a new window thing for paying by the month.

I need to walk the ddog now. Our dinner reservation is at 6:15. I'm not going to get a shower between now and then, but OTOH I didn't sweat much at the workout.

I have downloaded a trial of ToDoist, and entered a lot of the pinging OMM stuff. More to do - in the car I was writing things down at traffic lights to add. (I keep a notepad and pen close to me in the car for recording those things that come to mind. Sometimes they're "gone" before I can get to a traffic light to write things down.

Back out with dog next. It's currently 84 degrees and sunny, but humidity is low.

Virtual meeting went well. I got good vibes from new financial group. It will take a few days to get everything accomplished but it is headed in the right direction. I am hopeful.

We have 3 cooler days (85F/29F) ahead before returning to the high 90's next week. That means I can relax for a few days in making sure DH doesn't overheat.

Twins - does your GIS fella keep the cemetery data online for you to view? I started doing GIS back when dinosaur roam the earth. I was GIS manager at our installation for a decade before I retired.

Dd27's first job was with a program started by big city's mayor, and she did GIS mapping. A little work outdoors, but a lot in a cubicle.

Cleaning -
Have been washing some walls and baseboards, vacuuming.

Decluttering -
Consolidating some drawer space, taking books to correct shelving and organizing.
Tossing some - maybe one medium trash can full.

Matriarching -
Sat with dgsW this afternoon to teach him about checks - how they are written, how a register is kept, some cautions. I am astonished this has never been taught in school, although he says he thinks there was a class that included it, but he didn't take that class - he's not sure. He has a bank account, although I question how his parents set it up, with his first name, since he goes by middle name. A lawn mowing business is an especially familiar, friend-based business, lol, especially since he is just now completing driver's ed. I suggested that he asks folks to make any check out to "(first name) W. (last name)", so it will make sense to everyone with no trouble cashing/depositing.

Harriet - Good for you sharing that checking account wisdom! I bet he remembers and uses it all his life.
I recently learned from the teens how to deposit a check by taking a picture of it and using the bank's mobile app. DS17 gets a weekly paper paycheck and that is how he deposits it into checking account. DD14 paycheck is direct deposited into her checking account. It seems to be more commonly accepted to use p2p apps to transfer money (zelle, venmo, cash app, paypal, etc). I'm old fashion and still prefer cash transactions.

I'm in the process of hiring someone to do some repair on a shed. I'm waiting on a quote from first person contacted. I have another person I'll contact if he doesn't work out.

I think he was going to get his folks to photograph it for him, yes. HRH asked him if he could take PayPal yet - that's a good idea that may be a little early for him, I guess. I think he was pleased to think he got the concept of telling folks a check would be fine. Also, he could have occasion to write a check himself for some expense. It's so interesting to watch them grow up, but oh how I wish it wouldn't happen, lol.

I don't know if we'll try to do any more errands on the way home tomorrow.

I chatted with ddolder to let her know we'd be gone. She sent me her two youngest's updated wish lists for possible gifts for their summer bdays. DgsC starts his summer volunteering at the library on Wednesday - just finished his orientation day for that.

A very interesting conversation about cheques. Over here, almost no one uses or takes them any more, it's either card ( for things like groceries), BACS (for paying people like my Roofer and Painter), PayPal ( for many online purchases ), and, of course, cash. Cash is making a comeback with the ongoing cost.of living.crisis,.as it helps people budget better. I think "pay by phone/ smart watch etc" is popular with some younger people, but my concern is that it can make paying for things a bit too "easy" IYKWIM. (Which is.also the reason I've kept the £100 limit on my card for purchases where you just tap the card on the machine, as opposed to putting in the PIN number.)
