Re: Monsieur Jules Elie Peony Monday @ TDD - C&C
I hit the snooze button for an hour (the SHEM made me grin:)); did 3 sudoku puzzles on my phone, and a couple crosswords made from scrambled letters.
Trissie, I guess it's good that SIL realizes what you knew from the start. I hope the kids have a good time this week.
kittykatt, Eleanor Roosevelt always has thoughtful things to say, to encourage people to do well. I have 1 peony that didn't bloom this year - it was transplanted last fall, so I'll see what it does next spring.
hi to helia, kitkat, l.ann, doggedly, and everyone else I missed.
Made a list in my phone before I went to bed, so I know what to do today.
My post got interrupted by a phone call from the Dr where dfBS is in the hospital.
then TADAs
2 lol
3 errands downtown
long phone call with dfBS housekeeper, who comes 2x a day to feed the cats
TODO list is too long to notate, so I'll just get off my butt and do something, then report back

Re: Monsieur Jules Elie Peony Monday @ TDD - C&C
helia, I would be in a straitjacket if I had to go to social events eight days in a row! I can picture you eating your dinner on your one day off from it under a fort made of couch cushions and blankets. At least, that's where I would be.
That is no doubt the best approach, Gma.
Monday
Tried to get dressed: couldn't get my leg into pants, so put on a sort of tunic over my tshirt. Will dress when my joints have loosened up
Started to put on coffee
Gave dog heart pill
Put away groceries
Took a pill
Cleaned up after dog
Put away laundry from small drying rack.
Found the part that popped off and put it back on the rack
Put the rack away. This gives access to the patio door panes behind the air conditioner
Changed out kitchen and bathroom towels
Set up Procrastaccomplishments List for the week
Cleared off table
Wiped table and changed placemat
Breakfast is luckily already made: naan bread with onion yoghurt
CUOP

Re: Monsieur Jules Elie Peony Monday @ TDD - C&C
Hello everyone!
WTG on all the progress on your report, Trissie. I'm very happy to announce that the rain has watered my pots beautifully , and that both water butts are now full once more.
Which Shakespeare play are you going to see, Helia? I remember we saw Midsummer Night's Dream in the Bishop's garden one summer evening years ago, and it was just perfect. The high stone garden wall covered with pale pink climbing roses (Albertine?) made the perfect backdrop, the weather cooperated admit was just a magical evening.
L Ann, this is the second year for my paeony, so maybe I need patience?
Dogged, thank you for the vote of confidence regarding peonies!
Gma, you get a lot done, despite interruptions.
Bama, what a good idea to give DH jobs to do to keep him occupied and not underfoot!
Today turned out very nice this afternoon, so I had a good session in my garden, and have the rhododendron its annual trim. Also showed some more Virginia stock, pulled out more forget-me-nots and lots.of deadheading. I managed to clean the upstairs windows, a d I'm hoping to do those downstairs tomorrow if the weather cooperates. Matilda was very interested in a bee earlier, (Matilda, leave bee alone!
) but fortunately I managed to rescue it in time. The perpetrator is now asleep on my lap.

Re: Monsieur Jules Elie Peony Monday @ TDD - C&C
That one hour commute each way sounds brutal, trissie. Dh's full-time work used to be about 80 hours/ week, not including the commute, which is comparatively short. He clocked it at that time bc he and R made a pact to keep each other accountable not to work too much. (R was also working 80 hours/ week.) And that was post-tenure; pre-tenure, he worked even longer hours. That pre-tenure time was insane - and the lowest point for our marriage. But he's down to maybe 60 hours/ week now.
We'll see Love's Labor Lost, Kitty. They always do a comedy in the arboretum. The acts/ scenes are done at different locations in the arb, so the audience has to get up and walk from time to time. It's usually well done and a lot of fun! We used to take the kids to it, and they enjoyed it too, even when they were too young to read Shakespeare! We bring a small blanket to sit on. Glad you got in a good session in your garden.
LOL Doggedly! That's a great image! It's almost evening so maybe you're past the afternoon doldrums.
I hope dfBS is doing OK, Gma.
That's quite a list, Bama. I hope dh is healing well. Sounds like you're trying to keep him busy.
