Trissie, I agree that it's the contact with the "real" outside temperatures that's so exhausting. I was lucky as both the vet and the car have A/C, and we were back home before it got too hot out. And you're right, it is possible to keep the inside of the house at a reasonable temperature with judicious opening amd closing of windows and drawing curtains

Helia,.I hope you get to enjoy the house to yourselves. Iay be wrong,.but I got the feeling that Peaches had a medical condition affecting her mobility, and I had got the impression over the years that it was getting worse.

Dogged, I hope your hot water gets sorted out soon - it all sounds very frustrating!

Today has been very hot 36C/ 98F with a "feels like" temperature of 39C / 103F, but it's been a "dry" heat, with sun, so not so tiring, and the blue sky and bright sun were beautiful. I stayed 8nsidemduring the heat of the day, and the sitting room wasn't too hot to clean (those thick curtains keep the heat out in summer as well as in during the winter! ) We had an early supper, and I've spent the evening in the back garden, watering the pots deadheading and generally.l pottering. Now it's nearly.10.30 pm and.still just light enough to see and the perfect temperature to just sit out. I really ought to think about going.to bed, but DH goes to the office tomorrow, so I can always have a siesta then if necessary!

Good evening! We just returned from getting groceries and I was going to mow but the skies broke open and we are having a little summer storm now. I’m not complaining.

I’m wishing everyone’s country well too!
I’m “enjoying” hot temps too, I don’t know how people manage without air conditioning but it can be done, my aunt and in-laws never had indoor heat or cooling other than a gas heater in the main room.

Trissie, dh is on the mend, I doubt he will ever be 100% but he is better than he was a month ago. He still has a soft tissue knot on his knee and it’s hard to stand or walk for long but he is trying. He’s having surgery on the other knee in July. And I’m very thankful work comp got all straightened out.

Little Man is a medium sized cat, mostly black on top and white on bottom with medium length fur and beautiful light green/peridot eyes. He’s the last stray that found their way from a neighbor cat lady’s house, she has now passed and all of her cats were removed. His parents were from that house, the momma cat had her litter of 3 in our yard, something got one so we kept the other two inside. His sister and parents already passed a few years ago.

I want to thank everyone for their sympathy regarding Tux. He has seen so much in his lifetime, my girls were around 4 and 9 when we got him so much has happened in that span. It’s harder on me letting go than it is the others but that is ok. They handle grief a lot better than I do, or at least hide it.

Done:
Called to check on atv pu - they will call back, picked up for maintenance
Got breakfast at truck stop plus an energy drink (it’s too hot to be expected to function but this grass won’t stop growing)
Made grocery order and scheduled pu, picked up, put away
Gave old watermelon to turkey
Dailies (all but mop)
Tech to look at generator ( our power went out during the storms over the weekend and so did the generator ) fixed
Let DDs dog out
Walk dogs/played ball with Beau and now he’s limping so we are back inside for a lazy evening resting and recuperating
Brush Beau who has tufts of fur falling off of him, he sheds so bad/pulled the bigger fur balls off

Thanks, Kittykatt. I have cold water, so it's not too bad. If it's still acting up tomorrow morning, I'll contact the building. So far, I've been assuming that they already know, as it's not likely to be only me affected.
That is unpleasantly hot weather. I'm glad that you found a time when you could enjoy being outside.

I'm so glad that you got the work comp sorted out, Bama. That was a source of stress that you didn't need.
It's good to hear that your DH's health is improving too.

I almost hesitate to say it when others here have such heat to contend with, but we are having a perfect summer day here. I spent my evening on my balcony. It's something I always mean to do every summer, but don't always get to. I set up the second lattice to overlap the first. It worked out perfectly. The overlap is right where I am exposed to view while sitting in my computer chair. So now I can leave the curtain open at night to enjoy the night view while staying modestly behind the greenery.
After setting it up, I just sat out and enjoyed the view and the last of the sun.
Germane came around to check that I was still there, and then took herself off to sleep in the bathroom, so she's happy.
