Good evening! Dropping in for a bit before dinner while I'm on text with the person doing my grocery shopping. I think they are almost done; the last question was about produce and before that was frozen. We've got a 7:30 pickup slot, so I'm very glad I picked up a lasagna yesterday for today's dinner.
Oh! There's the dinner timer! Good at least to see what you've been up to! Will wish you sweet dreams a little early.

Bw2 for the answer to your q.
North wall what ever needs done there.
East wall what is done there
South wall " "
West wall " "
I would do it in weeks.
Smaller chunks helps.
Or when you have help to move stuff on a diff. card for that.
------
Some progress:
I just mixed up two more loaves of bread dough to make up later.
Might do em in to rolls, or pizza's. Too hot to use the oven today but
glad for the looking at my freezer filling up again now. Counts for progress.
Did up the dishes after that too.
With a 107* forecast I made an executive decision & postponed book club meeting. It was in the afternoon ack !

Mystery - Interesting. I didn't know the shopper would text with you for further instructions while shopping.
Delivery is starting to become available where I live on a limited basis. It is all new to me.
Your project sounds huge to me = more like renovating the room?
I tend to approach those types of projects by emptying the room to bare walls & floors then start with repairs/replacements/renovations before putting the room back together with furniture and belongings.
My mind works better when I start with a clean slate.

I don't group reoccurring tasks by room. I tend to group by action (sweeping all rooms, dusting all rooms, etc).I have a question: how do you set up cards or lists for jobs for a room.
how do you set up the project to work with your system.

blessed, setting up a project to work within a card file -
For tasks that fit into weeklies household care, I would just move those forward as priorities and do them the next time that task type or area comes up - for instance, cleaning a door, cleaning a light fixture. A little post-it could remind you, or mini-note under a paperclip.
Then I'd make some Project Cards - maybe in a different color or with a color drawn across the top to highlight them.
An initial card might be Supply Gathering for the projects - ladder, gloves, etc., especially if there's something that needs to be purchased and might take time to arrive.
For handy-chores - sanding, painting, repair jobs, you could either make cards 1) by task, such as all areas to sand, then all areas to paint, etc., OR 2) by location, such as all work in the bathroom then all work in the bedroom. Whatever feels best to your household.
To me, a couple of those tasks sound like rewards - getting to bring in new drawer pulls and new curtains. If some task seems cheery to you, maybe you could make that a Reward Card for when one of the Project Cards is all checked off?

Re: Thriving Thursday PWYC
Forgot to say I exercised first thing again this morning. That time frame seems to work best. Definitely sticking with EOD or 3 times a week.
Cleaning this afternoon was in the bathrooms. The kitchen is finished and dishwasher even done and airing dry.
A surprise call from kinfolk of HRH who want to come visit in the morning. That's fine except I had just said to him how I wanted to get to a lot of work early tomorrow, having lost this a.m. to the appt. Oh, well. He always asks for morning appts and I know why - traffic around early-to-mid morning will be less and the driving situation is uppermost in his mind. I certainly respect that. Unfortunately, it makes mornings even more rare and precious since it always seems that is my best time for starting with enthusiasm on plans, more than just dailies, something that carries some forward progress, successes. Two morning appts next week, one distant.

Re: Thriving Thursday PWYC
Well, I know y'all get tired of hearing about what I didn't do... but I have certainly not been thriving today.
I am just MAD.
First, I had to get up at 7:30, because the washing machine repairman was coming sometime between 8-12. He did call when he was about 30 minutes away, but I wanted to be sure I wasn't rushing to the door in my robe, you know. And of course, 7:30 found me with about 3 hours sleep. He arrived closer to 9:30, and it's a good thing I was sitting out on the porch swing, because I saw him drive right by the house. So I called and directed him in.
I am MAD because apparently there is nothing wrong with my washer; the problem is the drain pipe/hose and he said "Maybe your husband could snake it out and save you the cost of a plumber."
I didn't even try to tell him there is no husband... but I did ask if he couldn't do that -- I have a plumber's snake. He said, "Oh no, I just work on the washers."
*_(*)(+@$!*%^&)*(!*
So... I went to town and rewarded myself with an egg McMuffin.
Called ds, asked him if he maybe could face time his dfil (also an appliance man) and see if together they could get the job done. (The dfil can't come over and do it himself because he is still on a knee scooter recovering from bunion surgery.) Ds will try, but it may be Monday before he can get to it. He has a busy weekend.
Then I went to the post office, and got my newspaper, and AGAIN, they had given me my paper AND John Doe's paper. My box is 621; his is 681.
This also makes me MAD, because when it happens, fairly often, that I don't get my paper, the post office ladies always blame the paper company.
I call the paper to report it, they give me credit for the day, and they blame the post office.
I am beginning to see that it IS the post office problem and it aggravates me to no end. Every time, I give them Mr. Doe's paper and tell them he has probably already called the paper to complain.
Then I have to go find a paper box and get my paper for the day.
I came home and read the paper and napped for most of the day.
I did talk to my dmom, and saw a good friend at the post office for a short chat.
Oh -- and the man finally mowed the yard! He did not get the weed-eating done, however, and the fence man has not been back since Sunday.
I folded a small load of laundry (dgrands' clothes) and s/s the bathroom.
I am showered and ready to go to bed. That's progress compared to this time last night.
I hope you all have a great day tomorrow. I promise to be more cheerful.

Re: Thriving Thursday PWYC
thank you all... I think I am making it look too big - seeing the mountains instead of seeing the trail that I am on - kind of thing.
it is always a joy to be here with you!
