This afternoon, I got the upper room ready mostly by myself. After dinner, dh came and moved some more stuff from the closet and hung a couple of pictures. Then we tackled the downstairs room, which needs a lot of help. I just intended to do some surface level improvements, but that's not possible with dh working.

He went through everything in that double closet and a set of shelves. I moved stacks of books to the play room shelves. We threw out/ recycled/ put in the give away pile a LOT of stuff, including a lot of blank canvases (some of them are huge, like 5 feet tall) and also a lot of painted ones that dd30 had stored in the closet. She may not be happy with dh. Then, Dh washed the biggest wall and hung a couple pictures to make it nicer. The walls were in bad shape with a lot of bits of old tape on them. I also washed some cobwebs on the ceiling and corners of the downstairs hallway. I don't clean down there very often - I really should.

There are only 2 rooms in the house that have not been renovated since we moved in (well, 3 if you include the laundry room) -- the two rooms where S and K will be staying. Those were dd28's bedroom and ds' bedroom growing up.

Tomorrow, I need to: vacuum the downstairs room, finish putting bedding on all the beds (including the extra bed in the upstairs room), spot clean the walls in the upstairs room, s/s the main bathroom, and find a spot for S' bathroom things in our bathroom. I also need to get some groceries. I'll leave for the airport around 2. They will need to go through immigration and customs and they will have checked luggage, so arriving around 2:30 should be early enough.

But now, I need to go to bed.
