Smile*Lee Thats great that you made it through the holidays with gaining the usual 5. I was able to did the same.

Nancy is your glider a gazelle??? I have one and used it for a long time, but when I moved into my new house decided to leave it behind cause it took up too much room in my office. I have over 150 miles on it :D

Day 5....Eat right, drank all my water...I haven't touched a soda since last Thur....Didn't sleep as well as usual, but started back to school yesterday, so that might have something to do with it.

TWEAK!!!
I got prunes yesterday on the store run.
had one for my p.m. snack! 0 fat and only 4.6 carbs in one.
rediscovering the joy of fruit.
Even though the doc. says it raises my b.s. I need it for the fiber.
So I've been trying to focus on the lower carb fruits.

I'm up having tea first today.

Got off schedule with my meds. last night did a 20 min. work out with the
cardio glide before bed had a b.s. crash in the night.

I having tea now have to wait to eat breakfast
after taking my thyroid.

Cowinkie No I'm not graceful enough for a gazelle!
You sit on it like a bike and the whole thing moves
up and down with you in resistance.

ty, Cowinkie! Congrats back to you as well! It's a shock - almost a miracle - when I've made it through the holidays without extra baggage. It does take some extra monitoring, for sure.

Nancy ~ did you get the individually wrapped prunes? They seem more appetizing to eat as finger food. If I buy them boxed up the more traditional way, I like to pour boiling water over them to re-hydrate them. yum!

  • :!: 1 qt. of h2o before having anything else to drink: still didn't do this first thing, but doing it now.
  • vitamins:
  • :!: exercise: :30 step - :10 floor
  • clean eating:
  • no eating after 6: still workin' on it.
  • :!: cutting back on coffee: 1 scoop minus 1/2 tsp. - I saw an interview with Dr. Don Colbert yesterday. He was touting all the benefits of coffee, so I'm rethinking this. I definitely don't want to drink as much coffee as I have been, so I might cut it back to one cup in the morning - one cup in the afternoon - and look to other choices if I want more hot drinks.

There are also mini-packets of dried apricots (just a few in each). I bought them, but they are leaving here very slowly, so we must not like them as much. I thought my ddad would like them, but I think he doesn't look forward to them because they are hard to chew.

I am concentrating on food and staying mostly-God-made whenever possible.

Yesterday was a typical day of some of my "go to" items:

1/2 baked sweet potato with honey
1/4 cantaloupe
tossed salad with avocado, cucumber, cabbage
chicken breast over a small salad with carrot
1/2 baked potato
rice pudding for treat (not God made)

So there were more than enough veggies to get my 5 checkmarks on my healthy habits card.

This thinking, plus careful attention to water (5 pints yesterday) is very good for me. Since we don't mince words here, I will tell you that my body thanks me the next morning, as I am "regular" and feeling light.

I am back to my Healthy Habits refrigerator checkoff cards for instant "where am I in my day" answers to keep me on track, but still recording my eating/etc. in a folder as well. I even record how well I sleep - a couple words and hour #. It may be overkill, but helpful. If I don't feel well, I like to look back and see what I might change to avoid that in the future.

After not sleeping well for 3 nights running, I realized at 4am that the culprit could be the Ghiradhelli chocolate squares dh and I have been eating for a treat at night! So, no chocolate for us tonight--hopefully just a good night's rest. So your chart is a good idea in my mind Harriet!
Down 1.5# over the holidays. Wanted to be a bit further along, but a loss is good considering the holiday treats and the travel we did.
Congrats to Cowinkie and Smile Lee!!

Day 6...Ate all my food but not sure about my water...usually carry bottles with me and think I might have misplaced one. I'm drinking 80+ozs of water, plus my ice and hot tea.

Haven't cheated, not one little bit. Sweetie said the spagetti I made the other night was the best I've ever made. Perhaps its because he did all the tasting instead of me :D

I am charting my results on a piece of graph paper...there something about doing it the old fashion way that I enjoy. School bells, I'm off.........

I was having a rough morning so did some chores and

to sort things out in my mind on my walks.
