Indiana, I do notice that here Accuweather shows our allergen "forecast" to be "Very High", either 7 or 8 out of 10 for each of this week's days. sherinjoy is bright to say mention it to those around you.

I'm sure OKay will be very interested in the dowsing experience, Kathryn. That comes under the "learn something new every day" category for sure, doesn't it?

Kathryn, are the days warm enough for you to "lie out" in the sun at just the perfect time (1:00? 12:30?) on your stomach and let the sun give you a "warming" at the same time? This is my back's day: awakening - horrible; 10 minutes later - tolerable; rest of day - forgetting about it or putting up with it without thinking; evening - achy.

I had an epiphany about my leg. To attend the funeral visitation, ds and I made a plan that he would stay in the LR with my ddad and I would go out our sliding French doors at my bedroom, so as not to confuse ddad with where was I going, etc. I was hurrying. I stepped into a hole that our darling Sammie dug in search of a mole or something. I paid little attention, although a hidden camera would have recorded a funny bobble, I know. I just had to hurry, and in fact I remember thinking I'll have to think about that later. HRH wonders if that could have been more of an injury than I admitted, because now my derriere hurts some, and my ankle - he wonders if I could have bothered a nerve.

Cruising through to say hello. Great quote to start us off today, OK.

My daunt died last night. I don't know when the funeral will be, but I will do my best to try to go. I am scheduled to teach at the moms group next week, and my Hebrew final is in 2 weeks, so missing moms group and/or Hebrew class will complicate my life. But I think I will still try to go. Another of the moms group teachers has already said she'll take my teaching - I have notes and an old handout to pass on to her to help her out. Anyway, this is the aunt who used to send me those inflammatory political emails that were a struggle for me; I was learning to take them in stride. . . . . I went to her and my uncle's 50th wedding anniversary in April. It is hard to believe she is gone now. She was feeling a bit ill when we were out there in April, but everyone thought she was getting over pneumonia at the time. I'd sure be happy to receive the most inflammatory irritating emails from her now. :(

This means we are not traveling to visit my parents this weekend. This also means we need to get plan B going for ds' senior photos. . .

Dh's workload continues to be insanely high. He just can't seem to get out from under it - he has so many projects going on and too many grad students to shepherd, some of which require more shepherding than others. . . . He was up until 3:30 a.m. last night working. Dd15 also has an incredible load of work this year; she has been up studying until 11 or 12 every night this week. I think she could be starting her assignments and studying for tests earlier, but that doesn't account for it all as she is working steadily and quite hard, and she did start some assignments over the weekend. Between her and dh's workloads, stress levels are a bit high here in the later evening hours and exhaustion levels are likewise a bit high; we're all going to bed too late. Fortunately, ds and dd13 are generally cruising along seamlessly, and my extreme busyness earlier this month has indeed calmed down, as I thought it would. . . .

On another note, we are having the most beautiful week! Highs here are in the mid 70s all this week - with sunny clear skies. Gorgeous!

I'm working today without a list. Harriet would be proud. Moms group was this morning. I relaxed for an hour for lunch. I'm now going to slip out to return an item I bought yesterday that is broken and to buy some gardening sheers. Ds and dd15 should be home in about an hour. I'll go to dd13's field hockey game at 4. Three friends from our Thursday dinner crew will be coming over tonight; I'll get the breadmaker going w/ parmesan pepper bread by 3:00 pm for dinner. I hope to start some yard tidying in between all these things.

Have a good day all!

((((helia and family)))) I'm sorry for your loss.

((((Indiana)))) I'm glad you were able to post. Know you are in our thoughts and prayers especially during these rough breathing times. When it gets better, I would love to hear about the dog whisper sessions. I am fascinated with those type of learning experiences.

Dowsers - I'm glad Kathryn's DH was able to experience dowsing. I've had several try it with me, but few say they get any response. I need to go find water for a neighbor on other side of section, he stopped by a couple days ago and asked me to come. I couldn't do it at that moment, but told him I would get to him ASAP. I totally understand some peoples need to document and use modern scientific methods to explain dowsing, but I'm not one of those type people. I just do it and it works. I don't think much about the why and hows.

Yuck. LO just lost his lunch. It caught him unaware it was going to happen - He kept apologizing - which breaks my heart. Floor cleaned up, mattress protector and new sheets on bed, clothes changes and back down for his nap. I am VERY thankful he loves his nap and isn't one to fight it. He usually beats DH into the bedroom when it is nap time. :)

The concierge know I'm having trouble breathing. Also a few friends I was eating dinner with last night know because I had to leave the table and they delivered my meal.

The best protection of all is that I'm wearing my pendant. All I need to do is push the button and someone will be here immediately.

I am having dinner delivered tonight so security will know.

I am so glad I live here.

We're glad you live there too, Indiana!

I'm back from voting and picking up mail. Brought the clothes in off the line too. Back is still acting up (actually it is mainly my leg, but it is caused by my back.) I'm starting to dread the 6 - 8 hour drive tomorrow (depending on how bad the holiday traffic is.)

I'm glad there are those who can help you too, Indiana, Praying you get through this quickly.

I am not quite following the dowser conversation but am intrigued. . . .

I did my 2 errands, reclaimed the kitchen, welcomed dd15 and ds home, started the breadmaker, and started some trimming. I'm going to do 10 more minutes of yardwork and then head over to the middle school to watch dd13 play field hockey.

Indiana: I am so glad you are where you are. Just rest today and keep your O2 turned up. This, too, will soon pass. Then you can be up and about. Keep that pendant close.

Loads 1 & 2 are dried, folded and put away. 3 is on the line and 4 is done washing but waiting for pins. As soon as 3 is done - 4 goes up.

Chili is smelling GOOD!! Does chili powder lose its zip? I've put a lot in and it is still not hot. I had about 1/4 cup of mixed spices - Chili, paprika, garlic, seasoned pepper, seasoned salt, sea salt, Italian herbs and a touch of cinnamon. It tastes good - but needs more bite. Oh, and toasted fennel seeds.

The 5er is all ready - windows and mirrors washed, everything dusted, bed washed and remade, towels fresh from the line, and bath scrubbed. It looks pretty good.

Now to find something for our dinner tonight. Don't think we have enough chili to have some of that - but if I made some macaroni it wouldn't take that much chili. Maybe . . .

Thank you OK. I am quite sad about my aunt. Because of distance, she lived in SW Kansas, I wasn't close to her as an adult, but I did spend a fair bit of time in her home as a child growing up and I have many happy memories of her. KS was our main vacation destination growing up. I think my dmom is probably very sad as she was quite close to her, but I haven't had a chance to talk to dmom in detail yet.

A few more reasons I like it here.

If I was in my old home I wouldn't have the strength to make dinner. I wouldn't have eaten. Here I ordered more than I was hungry for. My brain said hunger but my stomach said not that hungry. I ordered a cup of cauliflower soup, a BLT, an Oriental salad and fruit for dessert. I had the soup and 1/4 of the BLT. The chef's know who the dinner is for. Normally it is just a BLT cut in half corner to corner. They made it into a BLT club in 4 quarters. Thy made the oriental salad larger than normal. I'm saving it for tomorrow. The salad is a healthier version of Applebee's. They sent a huge bowl of fruit. I'll have that for breakfast. I really don't need the extra food that they send in larger portions or something extra. I guess they like me.

Indiana, I'm glad you are where you are, too. Eating well is good for you!

I did leave work early, but not until almost four. I kept thinking I would leave soon so I put off lunch. After I got my tax returns squared away, I spent some time cleaning off my desk. 8-) I had to go by the temple for a few minutes then, and finally got something to eat on the way home. Have hung out in front of the computer, but also took the ddogs for a walk tonight. Macs has been so needy for attention and I think the poor guy is just worn out now.
