Elizabeth: Is the visa for you or for a housecleaner (the two thoughts were in one paragraph in your post.)

If you, it depends on the country. For example, to get a visa to Australia, we just filled in an online form, paid the fee, printed off the email and were done. To get one to India, we had to print off forms, fill them in, take the form and our passports to the high commission and then they called us 10 days later to pick up the passport and the visa is attached to the passport. Since we live in the capital of our country, we could do that but others would also have to mail in their passports. On our cruise, we'll need visas for several countries but the cruiseline will get those for us as we arrive in each country.

Dh is watching a movie now. I'll get going on housework in a few minutes. The dishes need doing, laundry needs doing and I have church work to do. Plus the vitamins need refilling.

Very cold here - I've been freezing all day - I think the high was only a little above freezing and the weather lately has been so warm that this change really has made it feel cold. I had a fire in the fireplace this morning for comfort.

This morning went through my last 100 or so emails and responded, forwarded, deleted, etc. Have stirred up a can of worms with temple secretary by sending her a copy of email meant for Admin-VP in which I mentioned her accuracy issues. The accuracy issues have been a continual problem with her but apparently she thinks I'm the only one who cares - her annual review is later this week and she'll find out differently, I'm afraid.

I got ds downtown around lunchtime to meet with a prospective summer employer - someone that dh knows. Wish ds would get a job on his own but I'm hoping he will be employed. While waiting for him I went to library and looked up a couple of obits on microfilm. Got back home and napped for an hour.

I don't know if I mentioned that we ordered a new computer online for dd on Saturday - hers was DOA - and at least partially based the decision on which computer could be shipped quickly since she'll head back to school early next week. This morning rec'd an email that her computer couldn't be shipped until Feb, so cancelled that and went to Best Buy tonight with her just now to purchase a computer she could take back to school. We ended up with a nice Asus which was the display model (10% off) and rec'd another $50 off for the "open box" so it was a successful purchase. She has to go back tomorrow to pick it up - they have to reset it to factory settings first.

We had overnight guests who left about 6:30 this morning. These were dfriends who stopped here a couple of weeks ago on the way to FL. Dh of family was with them going home, and the son who is my kids age was flying back to college instead of driving back with the family. Had a great time visiting with them last night. Then ds woke us up around 3 a.m. this morning to tell us the toilet in the dkids bathroom had overflowed. He had cleaned it up but water had gotten into the HVAC vent and leaked into ceiling of downstairs powder room immediately below. We think one of the overnight guests kids plugged it up. (Sorry if TMI!)

Tomorrow I really do go back to work. Was supposed to go today, and rescheduled for tomorrow based on needing to take ds somewhere, and needing to wake dd for a dr appointment today. Yes, dreading going back to work.

I thought I posted this morning, but evidently NOT. Didn't get up very early. Slept soundly under the warm covers. Was only 60 in our room -got all the way up to almost 63 during the day. Finally broke down and ordered an electric fireplace for in there. Had one last winter that was excellent but we took it north for our RV. Got dd one for Christmas and that's going in the living room -making it quite toasty in here. Supposed to be even colder here tonight so I'm not looking forward to morning. I know -it's much colder up north.

DH is now on an antibiotic for this 'cold' he's been fighting for 3 weeks. I was hearing his chest wheeze from across the room the last few days. He's definitely feeling better since he started the biotic yesterday.

I should be working on annual reports tonight and obviously I'm not. Going to have to really go at it tomorrow.

Made a dreaded phone call so I'm feeling a bit more productive.

Now to work on the kitchen.

Dr. thinks dh has a viral infection. He is to start taking 2000 units of Vitamin C. A Rx for an over the counter med that has to have a Rx was to have been called in. Went to pick it up and it hadn't been called in yet. They close at 8 so I will go about 7:30 and hope it's ready. Dh has decided to just work half days this week. He can at least get some work done but also get plenty of rest. His blood sugar was 128. Yikes! I told him that we will monitor it and see if it gets better when he is feeling better. The dr. wants him to come back in April to check it. Well if he does have diabetes, I don't want him to wait 3 more months to do anything about it. Dh has great blood pressure, 102 over 60.

I am down to 1 load of stuff left to bring over. Plan on messing with that and cleaning tomorrow.

H. was able to get the leaves, old TV etc. hauled off today it's a relief to have that gone. Plus a case of sheet rock nails is going to the sheet rock crew on sil's job site so glad to have that out of here! Yea!

Sorry I didn't post this morning - I didn't sleep well last night and DH woke me just in time to take a shower and head out for our lot.

We had 14 people at lunch today - but we really need to change the restaurant. Very slow service and not too good food. One about 6 miles away is much better. I will see about it next week.

Then we went to 5th wheel and used gasoline to get tape residue off from where they taped up the window. I also got some garbage out of my shed and we moved some carving wood out of DH's shed.

Then we visited with friends before heading back home. We talked too long and the transfer station (nice name for garbage dump) was closed when we headed there. So we hauled 2 bags to the lot and added another bag and brought it all home.

I need to find something for an evening snack. We each had 1/2 salad to bring home but I skipped breakfast and with just salad for lunch and dinner - I need more. Maybe I'll open a can of chicken noodle soup.

Kitchen chores are done. And I put away a few more decorations. Laundry is running and it has the Christmas tip-towels and kitchen linens.

Now I'm off to bed. Early. Hopefully that translates to getting up early.
