I'm still mulling over something I was told today. After surgery, I'm not allowed to pick up 50 lbs for a WHOLE MONTH!! ***VBSigh*** I do this several times a day so I'm trying to mentally go through how I'm going to work around it. Hum....concerning LO....most of the time I should be able to sit down and let him crawl into my lap but there are times that I need to pick him up. I'm still in the training process with our two dogs (both are over 60 lbs) and need to be able to stay in control of them. There are several tasks at MPB that requires lifting that much (and more). Hum..... I need to think through how I can do things differently.

I'm off to pick up DD10. After today, XDH is back in town and we return to our normal visitation schedule. We are eating at a friend's place tonight. Then we will probably play some games. See you tomorrow.

OKay, I hate to suggest this when you are all ready to proceed, but would there be a better time of year to schedule this surgery?

Neighbors are coming to visit, actually overdue, bringing their grown daughter and her two children. It is pouring rain. My ddad rushed through his supper and I'm almost sure he didn't get enough to eat, but he was in a huge hurry to be ready for when they arrived. Now he's sitting looking out at the rain watching for them. I fear there will be the "moat" that dd32 complained about last time she and her children were caught in a downpour trying to get to our house.

Earlier I swept the porch and walkway. That may have been a bit much for me, in case of dust/pollen, but it needed to be done.

OKay get very creative on lifting. I can only lift 10 pounds and I have gotten very creative. Think outside the box. It is surprising the number of solutions you can find.

The moon is beautiful tonight. Tomorrow is the Full Pink April Moon. It is also called the Full Sprouting Grass Moon, or Full Eggf Moon, or Full Fish Moon. It is called the pink moon because it heralded the appearance of the moss pink and the wild ground phlox - one of the first spring flowers.

I have a feeling I'm going to be late tonight. I fell asleep in my chair at 4 pm and woke up at 7 pm.

Easter Greeting from God Friday.
I went to the service last night. Took a long reading response reflection prayer time this morning.

OKay - that sounds like great boots. I'm sure you will be able to manage w LO during recovery time. Even a young mum after a c section has similar constraints. Hope DH stays well during this time and can PU where you cannot. DM had her eye surgery the week of moving back into her repaired house. I thought that might be too much at once, but she was able to and glad to get it done.

Lilac. Here there are mostly 30 day contracts, with earlier date when all must be oked. thats finance and inspections etc needed by buyer. A no turn around date.

Indian - glad you are recovering so well.

I am still trying with helpful routines. Remembering - was it Dee would strive for something done each hour? I'm keeping a list of what happens at any rate. lol - wanting my teeth clean - now. Ttrying to add to an hourly list of whats done .

Maundy Thursday service went well. The children there were exceptionally well behaved. It is nice to see them growing up and seriously participating. These were 3 brothers and their cousin, all boys, youngest is 6, eldest, 12.

The minister drove me home because dh was out. I watched BBT and have been working on the laundry. Must stay up another 20 minutes or so while I wait for a load to finish. Dh must do the dishes. He's home now and had promised to do them earlier.

Kathryn, I decided to follow dhs lead where this couple is concerned. He has an uncanny ability to judge the character of a person. After meeting them, he says they are just an older farm couple that came from a time when a handshake was good enough. They had a $10000.00 check made out to us. Dh explained that we just need a $1000.00 check made out to the title company and a signed contract. He also explained that if the sale doesn't go thru as planned they will lose that money. They wanted to put the $10000.00 down on that but dh doesn't want them to lose their money if something happens. Anyway he gave them a copy of the contract and told them to look it over and show it to anyone they trust. He also told them if they still want to do it, they need to tell that guy they are signing a contract and are depending on him to buy their place by a certain date. Anyway he put the ball back in their court. When the sale of their place goes thru, they will be able to pay cash for our house and so we won't be dealing with a bank, just the title company.

When we came in from the other house, my cell phone rang and it was the guy from a week and a half ago, telling me he had his ducks in a row. I haven't heard from him in 10 days, how was I suppose to know. He had called several times recently and I didn't recognize his number and he didn't leave a message. Anyway he asked me to call him if they don't sign a contract.

OKay, glad you found the boots you wanted. They do look comfortable. LO's look good, too. He'll be so handsome in that outfit!

Lilac, hope all goes well for you and dh re: the house so you can move forward.

I got my weekly cleaning done a day early today, plus a good bit of focus work. House is now company ready ----- bring 'em on!!! After kitchen duty is done tomorrow I will be able to relax.

Dh talked to ds#3 just a little while ago. He wasn't sure the exact time they are leaving Va. He said they have some packing to finish and he wants to get some sleep before they start out. We had made arrangements with dfam#1 to attend a Thresher's baseball game tomorrow evening; it's not something we could back out of at this late date, we don't pay for the tickets! So dfam#3 just might be here by the time we get home from the game.

Sending feel better soon to all those who are not feeling up to par. And stay safe to all those who are having weather issues.

My mind doesn't want to think anymore......I'm feeling extra tired tonight, think I'll call it a night!

Six of the eight rose bushes are now planted along with wire being laid on the ground around the rose bushes and covered with dirt. Also planted 4 rutgers tomato plants. I looked at 2 places today without finding my favorite tomato & pepper plants. It is still early in the season so I'm not going to panic, but I will make it a point to start looking in earnest for them everywhere we go.

I could delay the cataract surgery but I think it is at the dangerous point where I struggle to see - especially when driving. I know with a little effort of being creative there is bound to be a way to get most everything done without having to lift.

When we came indoors tonight, LO wanted cottage cheese for a snack so I prepared him a bowl of it and sat it on the table in front of his chair. Somehow when he went to get into his chair the cottage cheese ended up getting spilled everywhere.....on his clothes/boots....on his chair....on the floor around the chair. He said with a smile "Nana, I'm a messie mess maker!" then went to get out of his chair however the floor was now slippery with cottage cheese which caused LO to slip & fall hard and started crying. I picked him up and carried him to a area where he could be cleaned up and snuggled before I returned to clean up the mess on the table/chairs/floor. As I was wiping it up I found myself wondering......how could I accomplished this without picking him up? I know there is a way.....

Surrogate. I've never thought much about the process because it has never been in my little world. However, now it appears it might be. DDIL told me she wants to have another baby but doesn't want to be pregnant again. One of the persons who cleans their home is going to be a surrogate for another couple......then DDIL wants her to be their surrogate. After DDIL told me about this, I sat and listened to DDIL and the lady talk about several aspects/details and possible arraignments. Because I had never thought much about the procedure and the whole emotional/moral/physical parts and pieces of the process, I just sat and listened because my little mind was spinning and having a hard time coming to grips with it all. I've been letting it stew a couple days in the back of my mind while thinking upon the whole surrogacy process.

OKay, I wish you and SuzLew could chat. She knows a lot about this, I believe, because her dd has been a surrogate.

Harmony, you are on my mind. HRH says to tell you that for him stewed potatoes are a little better than baked, because of the texture and moisture difference. Also he says that coconut macaroons are a little too "rough" for him, although he sees why they would be recommended.

Sunny, good job getting ready for company.

The little girl who came with the neighbor family (she's visiting her grandparents) was immensely enjoyable to dd. They went right off to dd's room and had a great time.

Lynlee, I think any kind of record-keeping, whether before or after the fact, is a boost to keeping chores done.

I had a good day as far as healthy habits and may post it in H and F. Feeling better, although I am still coughing up inappropriateness.
