Picked up gd and of course she already has a 'mess' on the living room floor. It would be alright if she'd pick up after herself, but at nearly 14 she leaves every wrapper, condiment, food plates, etc, etc wherever they land. 'Nuf said.

I vacuumed through today and it looks so much better just doing that and picking up a little.

DD just called to say she's stopping at the Cancer Center (think to register for her next 5k) and that she THINKS gd's therapist is coming at 4. Gd fell asleep on the way home and think she's now dozing on the living room rug. But I can bet she'll fight going to bed anywhere near on time.......

Wind is blowing fiercely here. Not envying Katherine's weather. Same as it is up home. Think the snow has changed to a frozen mix there now.

Nice to have dinner all ready (in the crockpot) whenever we're ready.

Think I'll read for a little while. Just don't want to drift off.

Today would have been a great day for a crock pot dinner. But we are having baked fish and homemade chips instead. Actually, we haven't had homemade fries for ages so I'm really looking forward to those.

I'm starving now and dh will start dinner soon but I made need a snack.

I've got the income part of the taxes done except the details on the stocks we sold this year. I'm putting that off for a bit and sticking to the easy stuff. So far it is showing a refund and I have losses to carry forward from previous years so even if I have a gain this year, I can offset it with those losses. So this is looking good.

Since most of us here in the U.S. have already gotten our taxes done, we'll cheer for you, Katherine. I'd love to do my own, but there's just a couple of niggly things that I'm not sure about so pay our tax man to do them each year.

We need to go to D Donuts to buy coffee (used the last for tomorrow morning). DD said a while ago that she needs to get gas so maybe we'll go to the new store not far from here and get gas on the way. So maybe we'll get supper out of the way and go do that since she has to go out anyway. She probably would have stopped on the way home except gd's therapist was here.

Hello, villagers ~

I'm having a pretty good Apron Day here. I don't usually have a problem with movin' on Mondays. It just feels right to send DH off to work and then go on autopilot to start the dishes & laundry. I also catch up on a lot of Emails and other computer work first thing on Monday mornings.

However some of my Monday plans were tossed in the air today. Last night I sent an Email to DSis offering to help set up for her annual garage sale. This will be the first one since her youngest daughter died. The other 2 girls have new babies. I figured she might need a couple of extra hands just to carry stuff from the house to garage, even though I have no idea about pricing or anything else.

This morning I got a reply that she has it pretty well in hand and doesn't need a lot of help, but one of the girls will be there tonight if I want to come up and hold the baby while they get her stuff arranged. Do I want to hold the baby? Silly question, of course I want to hold the baby!

So I'm not working on the state taxes today or tonight, I'll start them tomorrow.

Of my weekend goals, I did 1 of 2. I mixed up the homemade laundry detergent and tried it out on a load of sheets. It was not a totally valid test, because these sheets are old enough for the rag bag and nothing is ever going to get them really clean again. However, I could see that the homemade dry detergent was fully dissolved in warm water, which was 1 of my concerns.

I'm using commercial liquid detergent to wash our clothes today. I'll try the homemade dry stuff again when I get around to a load of towels.

The other goal was to rearrange the kitchen. I'm picking away at that job. It needs a good solid block of time, which is hard to come by. The issue is that I will need to temporarily block access to all of the appliances and also thoroughly scrub the floor, which I can't do when DH is here. I'll probably get home from DSis's too late tonight, but maybe I can finally make the big switch tomorrow morning.

Supper tonight is goulash made with ground turkey, stewed tomatoes & macaroni. If DH happens to be running a little late from work when I'm ready to take off to go to DSis's, I can put a cover on the dish and it will hold for him with no problem.

Well it is official - - I have osteoarthritis. Good old Uncle Arthur!!! Dr. gave me some anti - inflammatory meds and a script for therapy for the next month.

I called DH's Dr. for therapy for his back - but he hasn't called me back yet. I will give him till 9 am tomorrow and then I will do mine and make an appointment for DH at chiropractor that I know takes Medicare. Hopefully we can do both at the same time to save gas.

We bombed out on most of the stuff we wanted to buy. Best Buy doesn't sell Lexmark printers any more and Habitat didn't have any cabinets. But we got Subway and groceries plus my meds.

Now time for a short nap.

And HOPING I WILL fall asleep before 2:00 a.m. tonight -- unlike last night. I can deal with one day of virtually no sleep... but two in a row... yep, I'll be falling asleep in my tracks, too. Not good when 120 teenagers are watching...

Well, I did finally get moving this morning, however, and so I can report a few ta-da's:
1. Oversaw the removal of 50 chairs from my room and 29 desks to my room -- leftover task from Friday before Spring Break, and kind of aggravating b/c principal led us to believe this would be taken care of before this morning! However, all's well that ends well, and with half a dozen students working, it was all done by 8:30 a.m. (I only had a small class to work with 1st period.)
2. Proofread & typed a letter for the football coach.
3. Got newspaper staff typing "as if your lives depend on it" so that helped get a lot of my concerns out of the way.
4. Got grades recorded in gradebook (but not computer).
5. Bought, put away groceries, etc. w/dh.
6. Delivered dmil's supper to her.
7. Talked to cell phone company, set up text-blocking, got $17 in charges erased (not texts, but things that apparently opened automatically through junk-mail texts!)
8. Decided to try & follow dh & ds's advice to "go with the flow" re: shower. Dmil has already talked to dh's cousin... it is totally out of my hands now, anyway, and as dh pointed out -- it always was, anyway. ) Dmil has a VERY strong personality.
9. Cleaned up kitchen, w/dh
10. Watered plants.

Now...
I shall try to follow MY cards and be productive tonight. Thanks for the inspiration!

Still plugging away at the taxes. This is going too well. Don't know why and that makes me very nervous.

Hockey game is on now. And is going well for us.

Things changed, the hockey game is going badly. First draft of taxes are done. I'll let them sit for a day or two and see if I can think of any mistakes I've made.

I thought these would be great for greenery and maybe get some fruit from them also we will see. I got tomatoes that produce in short time this year a new kind we will see how they do a couple are in pots and one is in the garden spot. I debated on planting one this year and decided to go ahead and do it as h. did not reseed it in grass.

I chatted a bit with the neighbor over the back fence and she got some honey suckle starts from her plant that migrated to our side of the fence after they put in a shade thing and she
could not reach it or see it any more so she's going to start some to plant else where.

H. got the A/C going phew none too soon it's hot in the house this afternoon.
He got sucked in to shredding downstairs and did not notice hot hot it was upstairs; I finally could not stand it any more had him get on it like he said he would this morning. Having lemonade now that is helping!

I got the upstairs trash is emptied.
Neighbor mowed part of her back yard today. Lots of folks put trash out the day before.
They appear to be done working on the sewer up the street.
I have granny duty tomorrow afternoon.

I appreciate this board I was able to have a good dialogue with dgd #1 & #2 about the hunger games book and movie after reading what you all said here helped our dgds had both read those books!

I stayed on schedule until noon then spent the afternoon doing MPB things while LO napped with DH. I called Sam's and asked them to pull 800 lbs of salt and have it ready for me and they agreed to do it. However when i arrived it wasn't done. While I was waiting for that to be done, I looked at landline phones for DParents. Theirs is acting up. Without doing any research - I selected 2 systems for them to try. I'll return what they don't like. ANYway - eventually got the salt loaded and then I headed to the chemical place (couple hour drive). Loaded up with enough chemicals to make 200 gallons of soap, bags for commercial vacuums and blue/red dye. I stopped by DParents on the way home to drop off the phones and discovered the bottle of concentrated blue dye was leaking. ***VBSigh*** Thankfully it was in the pickup bed so it can be cleaned up fairly easily.

After supper, LO and I stayed outside until dark. Bedtime routine has been done. Sweet Dreams to all!
