Post and run, I did a very quick CUOP. Dh and I were outside working in the garage from around 9 a.m. to 12:30. We've gone through a ton of things, thrown some things out and agreed on a garage sale before we move. Trouble is, the garage sale stuff got moved back into the garage and that scares me - that we'll change our minds on it if it sits around. I guess the benefit of a garage sale is that someone else hauls your stuff off and you get paid a little for it - my tendency is to price to move and dh prices to make money. I'm going to make an appointment for a pick up of the garage sale stuff that doesn't sale immediately after the sale.

We are taking friends to see the house tonight and then eating out with them. I'm going to take something for my back and take a nap!

Another gallon bag of chopped green onions is in the freezer and 2 small ziplocs of broccoli.

Lunch was chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, broccoli for LO and me - green salad for DH who won't touch broccoli . While preparing lunch I wondered if everyone eats chicken fried steak.

I also found myself wondering if Kathryn ate any southern foods while she was in ATL. Some say their BBQ is better than anywhere else. And their sweet tea! And...and...and. :D

LO is down for his nap. Next up is bringing in another load of onions.....

Twins' Mom, I hope the pill helps and you feel better. I just shocked myself - and told dd she should be shocked - because I actually took an Excedrin Migraine for a headache. I almost never do this any more because I'm as worried about my stomach as I am any pain lately. It's just that in my opinion, Tylenol doesn't touch a headache. Trying to eat well today, but put cheese crackers and pudding "under" the pill  in the hopes of avoiding stomach distress. I've also run my hands under hot water, but that help - however real - was short-lived. I had thought about suggesting that to OKay, and have now forgotten it until she is better!

About that chocolate pudding thing - it makes sense there could be nutritious cocoa enough in the chocolate pudding to make it a health food, right? I think I'll stick with that rationale. It's either that or beginning to wonder if it's a "hair of the dog" thing with chocolate and me, and I'll have to start prohibition.

Oh, is there bbq in GA? I was unaware. Bless their hearts, I'm sure they do a very passable job. ;)

My lawn looks great. How did I ever manage without an energetic dstepson who's big on neatness? He's a wonder.

Smiling at The Harmonys' conversation. My first thought is to tease about that, but knowing Mr. Harmony to be the guile-less and sincere sort, I don't have the heart! I imagine he was truly glad to find out he is included in hanging out with Harmony.

Another point about "just what I need, another job", Harmony, is that up until now it has not occurred to my ddad that someone (me) could bake him what he thinks up: cakes, pies, etc. If that ever dawns on him, I'll never hear the end of it, since he does not have a good understanding of the passage of time, and often assumes it's been a week since something happened, when it was only yesterday. Also, frankly, HRH is very knowledgeable baker, with decades of experience that I'd rather not come piling into my small kitchen right now. I've learned that all that big-bakery knowledge takes up a surprising amount of space. So, another important thing is not to let him hear that my ddad "needs" any baking done, because he will succumb to guilt and do that to the exclusion of things we really need done around here!

Home from picking dh up.

* Spent the morning sleeping/surfing/eating/s2s.
* Rushed to the airport (dh's flight was 15 minutes early and when we live 25 minutes away that becomes an issue!) On the plus side, didn't have to pay for parking since we were in and out so fast.
* took dh to a walk-in clinic (UTI) He was told to drink water and cranberry juice. Duh... at least we didn't pay for the visit. This is a long weekend so today is the last day clinics are open. He did get a prescription if water and cranberry doesn't solve the problem.
* we picked up groceries (again - long weekend so stores aren't open Monday.)
* I cleaned out the bottom half of the fridge (something was between the glass shelf and the support and I thought I'd clean it off before unloading the groceries into the fridge, since the fridge was pretty empty.)
* I've reminded dh to have some water and juice and gave him a vitamin C

That's a pretty productive day so far. I'm exhausted and debating napping on the back deck.

Watching Mean Girls to keep me entertained while chopping another 1.5 gallon of green onions. I tried using a food processor but didn't care for how it chopped the pieces, so I continue to do it by hand. The movie has another 20 minutes to watch so I will use it to do paperwork.

DH is out picking up papers from customer, I've remade the bed and brought in laundry from outside. I'm ready to go.

He was beginning to snack and I reminded him not to spoil his appetite since we're going out. "Oh, that's today? I forgot..hmm..oh, yeah that's right, you did say.." Sheesh. He cut the grass today, I think the heat must have gotten to him.

I finished some more cleaning in the kitchen. And sewed a little.

Harriet, yup, doesn't sound like you need to open that pandora's box with all the baking tools inside. I used to make oatmeal cookies all the time. They took a huge amount of time. Haven't done that in a while.

Just heard dozens of shotgun shots and couldn't figure out what the heck (we'll hear a half dozen in the morning during duck season because we are on the edge of the village and you can hunt just 1/4 mile away from us.) Then it occurred to me that it is Victoria Day weekend so they were fireworks. Phew!

Dh and I got the car washed (he did the outside, I did the inside) and I cooked dinner. We watched a couple of episodes of tv and are off to bed now.

Harriet - your day might like the brunch I had yesterday - sweetened to his taste.
I used a serve of frozen mixed veg, an egg, flour (I used buckwheat but any flour would do) salt and pepper, 1 tsp oil. this time I addded seeds of all sorts but you could leave them out if they are a problem for teeth or gut.. rolled oats could go in there. maybe pre soaked). stir it up. Cooked for 6 min in sandwich press as one big pancake fritter omlette thing - much less work than messing with making little ones. Or cook in your new skillet. I flip it over and cook another 6 min to even out the cooking, though less would be as good. I made a 2nd one with left over mix.
Chocolate and cocoa are definately related to headaches for me. Migraine are much rarer since I gave them up.

OKay - hoping you can get speech therapy for LO. Is there a state home schooling association? They would know. Did the speech therapist suggest any exercises?
 to the idea of children's records being retrievable by anyone.

Kathryn - Sounds like you and minister are kindred spirits. Its been interesting to hear of all the variety in the services. The bible that required gloves may have been a historical copy.

Prayers for all in your family Dee.

Washing is on the line this Sunday. Its cloudy here as a break in our run of fine winter like sunny days. Caught up on dishes last night.
Just begin.

Kathryn, I'm glad that wasn't bullets whizzing around you.

This was a sensational Saturday after all. I got a lot accomplished. And dinner out was really nice. I so appreciated that, since we haven't been out since I don't know when, I couldn't even remember the last time we went out for dinner. Or lunch even, for that matter. After we came home we sat out on the front porch and talked. I can't remember the last time we did that, either.

Thanks Dee for reposting me :D
Okay..as far as I know you can only receive speech therapy while attending public school. LO would have to be evaluated by your school district and if he is within the guideline he will qualify for special Ed labled SLI....which means speech and language. You must attend public schools in order to receive these services. The speech teacher then bills Medicare through the school and the district is reimburse for their services.

If you home school certain states allow your student to attend public school for elective classes such as PE and art. I believe here at my school it can be done but few parent want their kids to attend these classes for the same reasons they don't want their kids to attend public schools in the first place.
