OKay, our shipping is fast also, although I've attributed it to the fact that there's two distribution centers for Amazon now in our area.

Crispy (from the "old" SHE board) was recently promoted to Amazon customer service manager. excellent customer service makes the think about the opposite too...... about Dee and Med*co continual woes.......they surely could use some help from Crispy.

** LO is down for a "little" nap. On the days he doesn't want to take a nap, I tell him he just needs to take a little nap (holding index finger & thumb barely apart). He gets excited about taking a "little" nap and eagerly lays down and goes right to sleep........and usually sleeps his normal 2-3 hours.
** Green beans picked. I tried to not pick them too small after listening to DDad tell DMom she was picking hers too small. DDad said they don't have the full flavor if picked before the bean develops. DDad said his mom always grew contender beans and let them get holding his hands up about a foot apart before picking them. I don't know if I can let them get that big, it seems like they are tough. However I'm attempting to find a happy medium. WHO KNEW PICKING GREEN BEANS REQUIRED SO MUCH THOUGHT?

Done with that list, have handled three of the four temple issues of the day now, although I've also done a fair amount of lollygagging. Fielded a phone call from our realtor, he wants to come up and review what we need to do in terms of painting/fixing so we can get old house onto the market as quickly as possible. He's also a dfriend - he just told me that Z's family has a contract with a buyer for their house as of yesterday. (Z is working at same camp as dd - his parents are, sadly, divorcing. )

This round:
-last temple issue to email about - Must set up (another) meeting this week
-print addendum for DH to sign
-deal with the two paperwork new house issues
-put away a large basket of laundry
-bring down dirty laundry from upstairs

OKay, I love it that LO is still napping. Good for him and good for you! By the time my kids were three, they would nap at the day care provider's (they were there three or four days a weeks) but wouldn't nap at home. At least I could usually plan on an early bedtime when they didn't nap.

A little progress, thanks to ds. He called and I felt I should be doing something while on the phone so measured out the Anniversary Bible Cake ingredients. When the call finished, I timed myself making the cake. Total start mixing to in oven time was just over 5 minutes. Of course, adding patter and 7 - 12 'helpers' will at least double the time. While the cake was baking, I printed up the bible passages. Now to add those to paper bags and then fill the bags with their contents. The cake is cooling now so I haven't tasted it yet (the second point of the trial-run - if it is inedible, I'll have to come up with a brilliant plan, fast!)

I noted that the awful killer from Montreal that was the subject of an Interpol search has been arrested in Berlin. I wrote dh, saying that the way his trip has been going, it wouldn't surprise me if the killer was staying at his hotel (which I believe to be a dive since it is less than 50 euros a night.)

Hello everyone! Today at payroll I am reading about various computer models. I have confirmed DCat18's boarding reservation while I am on my cruise. I need to order meds, get a camera card, update Quicken. Saturday, I took DD10 to the amusement park, but probably shouldn't have. Today she stayed home and the doctor says she has bronchitis. Several prescriptions for her. Gotta!

Did the Wally World trip this a.m. and then went to our favorite pizza place. The wind is blowing a gale and I am not happy about that. Storm coming tomorow.

I love ordering from Amazon. We have huge distribution centers in Fernly - only 50 miles away - and in Las Vegas. My orders come so fast I can't believe it. It seems I only order from them anymore.

I thought Cowinkie would be here by now. Waiting to hear about her Saturday retirement party.

Tomorrow is my first cataract surgery. I am glad it is at 1:30. I do not like getting up before my regular time to go have a procedure.

Speaking of cameras, last night's nearly-super moon was lovely above our house as I returned with groceries and I snapped a photo in the dusky light. It's reasonably good but a little grainy.

OKay, my vote would be half a foot or so up to 10 inches - probably what you are thinking. If I'm not mistaken, the plants will bear more if regularly picked, btw, so factor that in. The bean plant is waiting for an interior mystery signal that it has matured its future babies and doesn't have to bear any more, and then will stop producing, even if you thought it was early in the season.

I noticed that story today, Kathryn, and thought of our Canadian villagers, since the anchorwoman reporting said that Canadians throughout the country were keenly aware of the ongoing story. I must admit that it has not been much of a part of our news until this recent development. I found the use of the past video conversations of the man to be disconcerting and don't see how they are news, really. They are lurid and gossipy.

Also thinking of Prince Phillip today.

Sometimes dd13 goes through a space of time being so capable that I forget she is still really a little girl without life experience. She bought a teacher's present, and as she put it into the gift bag, she snipped the hanging tag right off! What???? I was pretty unhappy, since of course she doesn't have her own money and that was MY money she spent. Sigh. Without the tag, the gift looked questionable, since it is textile (like a little pillow), so it makes a big difference to know it is new. Dd was baffled, as if the concept had never dawned on her as I explained a tag, however utilitarian, is literally part of the value of a retail gift item. Anyway, I thought about it for a while and took a tagging fastener off of a garment we recently purchased and carefully replaced the hanging tag. Everybody happy, including the teacher, I hope. I wouldn't want her thanking dd for a gift she privately planned to throw away suspecting it was a second-hand textile.

I have gotten one of 2 DPCs done. The second is just a worry in my mind right now - I'm not sure I would be doing the right thing and can't make a decision. The problem is, I have put this off for days already.

I agree that embarrassment is a powerful motivator. You do have to be old enough to fear embarrassment, however. Dd does not respond to it, for instance, but I probably would.

Sanity is a good motivator for me lately! I try to have order around me so that I can remember what I'm doing and not talk to myself too much!

Tasted the cake. Tastes fine but it isn't cooked in the middle. The cake tester had come out clean and the center hasn't sunk at all so I was rather surprised by this development. The outside is a bit crispy. This pan also has a bundt option so I think I'll cook it that way in order to make sure the center is done on the day. Of course, that makes the cake much more difficult to remove from the pan (it is a spring-form pan so I had planned to just pop off the edge and slide it onto a serving pan without removing the metal bottom.)

The cake will taste better with cream cheese frosting so I think I'll make up a batch to use on the day. Will think a bit more about that, though, simplicity being my main goal here.

Done! That takes care of all except milk and bananas, and dh is going to pick up ds. Dh called a few minutes ago and said that the kitchen cabinets are going in today - I'd love to get by the house to check it out but hate to take a little over an hour there and back to do so....but I could get the milk and bananas too.

OTOH, there's plenty to do here...

I had to ask dd for an update on baby status although I know she isn't pregnant (I can tell by looking at her and what she is up to these days.)

Kind of hilarious: I had trouble extracting an opinion about my life plan from +(mom) and +(dad) because they kept emphasizing that it was my choice. Best. Parents. EVER.

Yes, we gave her our thoughts but did emphasize that it is her life and she has to choose for herself. She wants to go back to school to take Early Childhood Education - her rationale being she can use it to raise her own kids and it will help her if she chooses to run a home daycare like I did. I think taking personal financial management is the better choice because 1) she'll be able to manage their money and 2) she is much too paranoid and I worry if she takes ECE she'll worry if her kids are 'normal' and only see abnormality in them.

Basically, she is tired of working and thought she'd be a stay at home mom by now. I'm hoping that having studies to concentrate on might distract her from obsessing about getting pregnant so she'll actually get pregnant.
