SHEs Organized

Trip to town with DParents went smoothly. DDad & DMom thanked me several times for going with them and also for quizzing DMom doctor on several areas of concern. It seems when I am the one asking the doctor questions and voicing her/DDad concerns, then DMom can relax and listen. DMom is still sharp-as-a-tack mentally, however she is doing so much to take care of DDad 24/7 that I can see her struggling to keep it all together.

DH had lunch cooked and ready to serve when i walked in the door. What a sweetie!

I'm going to snuggle with LO while he lays down for a nap, then get going on MPB business stuff. STacks of papers are everywhere with little sticky notes on top telling which day this stack is for.....which day that stack is for, etc etc etc. If a *POOF* of wind happens before I get all these stacks processed......it would be a small disaster.

Believe it or not, we close at 4pm. TODAY! The title co. called late Thursday afternoon and told me what time. Our buyer had said she would call when she had her money. I never heard from her, so I have been practically holding my breath. I finally called her this morning to see about the utilities. They won't be having them put in their name until at least tomorrow. Could we wait? I have been paying utilities on 2 homes for 6 1/2 months + and I am ready to be done with that. They better do something by Wed. We first put the sign in the yard Feb. 17. By looking back here, I was able to see that they first looked at it one week later. They are closing on their sale as we speak at the other title company. Then they will meet us at the other one at 4.

Well I have thought of a few things I need to do before we go, so better do them!

Lilac, I hope your closing does go through smoothly. Look like it will be touch-and-go right up to the very last minute. Don't hand over the keys until it is all through.

Short version: tool and supply delivered to jobsite; trip to title company made, no check, email sent about that, phone call made and received...waiting till Wed perhaps...3 more phone calls handled / made. DH is aggravated today. Jobsite delays. He's driving me crazy!

It looks like rain. Good, we need it. I'm off to make dinner.

I wrote mom a letter. After dgd & I dusted. Then we went outside for some time in the garden and got the play house cleaned and picked some currents. She was napping when her mom picked her up so it went well the sun is back out again now so that's good.

Harriet--Sorry for the pain you're having.

Twins--At first I wondered how a blind lady was going to help with the new house...but I get it now!

Lucy--Your son knows you well enough to understand whatever you wrote, probably. Any published journal is edited some, I bet. Maybe you could do some editing. When DD was about 12, she would write "I hate my mom". Then she would cross it out and write "I'm sorry I wrote that". Ask me how I know this...haha!

Elizabeth--I have only been on one cruise, but I say "yes" to the flip-flops.

Nancy--I think you are onto something with the doggie meds.

Lilac--Yay for your closing. We had electric taken out of our names on the day of closing. Our buyers were on their own--but then, we never even met them.

Hello to everyone else...

Yeah! The check is in the bank. We signed our papers and then the title lady told us that they were waiting on the check to be wired. We were in the room with them. While we were waiting on the check, they went and paid their deposit for the electric and water. When they came back, they had talked to the first title gal and she was on her way with the check. We had to laugh afterwards that of course, there had to be one more scary moment. We left there and went to the utility office to have them read our meter and send our final bill. Then we went straight to the bank. We are going to go eat at the Italian restaurant.

Dgs8 has an 8:30 game. I may or may not go.

Yea! Glad it all happened finally, Lilac!

I've told ds that he needs to drive himself to work tomorrow because I have unspecified things to do. I'm pushing him out of the nest. It is nice to have a little time in the car with him but it's running me ragged. He worries about getting lost I think.

I have to pick up DD10 from her summer program now. What on earth am I going to feed her? I think I will look up the times for Brave for tomorrow.

Hooray, hooray for Lilac & dh!!! I know this has to feel like the weight of the world has been lifted off your shoulders.
Celebrate -- eat out, go to the ballgame, turn cartwheels around the bases!

Elizabeth, Brave looks like a great movie for young girls. I love the scene in the previews, where her mom, I think, is combing out her hair. I told dh that looks just like me @ 8 years old when my dgmother would try to get me back in shape for Sunday night church, after an afternoon of playing, riding in the back of the truck, etc. My hair is sooo thick and wavy, and back then, I could sit on it. (Don't worry -- now it's only about shoulder-length!)

Thanks, elly! I guess I could check to see if I need to do some editing. Actually I looked through the current one today, and there is a LOT of talk about weight and exercise, etc. etc. After one volume of plowing through all THAT to try to find some of the "good stuff," he & ddil would probably be so bored they'd just burn the whole lot of them.

We had a nice weekend. No company on Saturday so I just relaxed and puttered around with little things. Yesterday dfam#2 came a little earlier in the afternoon so we had a nice relaxed visit. Ddil brought her computer and showed me the website where she is taking her online classes. One assignment is to make an information video of her answering a set of questions. We taped a practice video, but she felt a little nervous and wants to practice some more before doing the final copy. The other two dsons called to wish their ddad a happy day.

Happy Birthday to Debmasterx. I remember that name from some time ago.

Harriet, I hope your back is feeling better, that it won't take three days like last time.

Dh had an appt. with his radiation dr. and got a good report. Dr. was pleased that tests for psa came in at less than l.0. Next appt. is in Dec.
