I'm enjoying our storm. If only noone gets hurt or flooded or - the worst that could happen - a tornado. There was a tornado south of us last night, but noone was hurt, I have not seen pictures so don't know if there was damage. Now they're predicting this thing will head north slowly and then stay put for up to 3 days. Tonight DH said he's ready for some sonshine!

We went up to friend's house and surprise there was a whole house full of people. And so much food an army couldn't eat it. We took a card and a bowl of fresh fruit, which they didn't need. We each had a piece of chicken and a piece of lemon meringue pie.

Just enjoying my Sunday evening. Watching the garbage can, the wind blew it open once already.

Good job getting that washer out, Nancy. Elly, to bad your drier quit. It's usually the heating element.

We have 2 supermarket chains here that have gone bonkers too. One is very expensive with fancy displays. Other just went through reorganization and stuff hauled outside onto sidewalk daily to look like outside market (veggies & fruit) but stuff so pricey I can't buy stuff there. So I stay away from both of those. I'm stuck with only one I can shop at.

Daunt can't make arrangements until tomorrow. I do know it is his wish to be cremated. His daughter is there but her husband will be coming in from California. I am not sure if he is driving or flying. So I am guessing Wed. at the earliest. Dgd15 daughter of dd2 has drivers ed this week. She already missed last week due to cheer camp. Dd1 is working the last 2 days of summer school which is Wed. and Thursday. She isn't sure if she can get a replacement. Now dd2 told me that she thinks she has strep because her throat is red, painful with bumps. She will try to get in for a strep screen tomorrow. I have no control over any of it. Dd1 has offered to let dd2 daughter stay at her house if she can't find a replacement and doesn't go.

I have been antsy all day about dh. Last night when he called he told me that his tail lights aren't working. He found a HD shop and they replaced the fuse. 10 miles down the road it went out again. He does have blinkers and brake lights. That really shouldn't be an issue with a bike that new. It would not hurt my feelings if he comes home from this trip and wants to sell that bike and not take more bike trips. He would still have his other bike to ride around here. I'm probably dreaming............

My house is a disaster area and I am behind on my laundry. I need to kick it in gear, so that I can leave a clean house with the laundry caught up.

Last night I worked on my checkbook and it balanced to the penny. Then today I worked on my "funds" accounts. Everything balanced there also. We had deposited the check for the house in our checking account. I wanted to get everything squared away, so that I know how much to put on the principle on the the house loan and how much to keep out for our improvements. Between what I am keeping out and what we had already earmarked for improvements, we are ready to get started. Since we will be doing most of it ourselves it will take time. Oh well, I will just keep saving and adding to it. Dh plans to work until the house is paid off and we have the money saved for any improvements, not finished.

I better get busy and quit climbing the walls. I am just feeling unhinged and it is not a good feeling.

Sundays here have always felt different than other days of the week. It is a time of calm and reflection and planning for the coming week.

Oh my, what a day. It has rained overnight and all day today with very short periods of calm. Our back yard is under a couple inches of water, but didn't come in under the back door. I have heard news of about 10 tornadoes in our state, only a few close to my area. So right now I feel safe, but I'll be glad when it's daylight again! There is some streets closer to the intercoastal waterway and beaches closed due to flooding and various intersections flooded (some of the intersections flood during a normal heavy rainstorm).

We talked to ddil#1 a couple of times, ds#2, dh's dniece called from Ohio when she watched the news and saw what was happening here. And I just talked to ddil#2 who called to check on us. Both ddils said their yards had standing water, but so far all is ok with them. I also talked to Harmony this afternoon. Hope all is still ok with her!

Lilac prayers for safe travels for your dh!

Dm is home. She said that daunt has decided to have the memorial service Thursday morning at 10. Then there will be a family dinner at the church. When I called dd2 to tell her, she said that dd1 wasn't having any luck finding a replacement. Dd1 will be attending the funeral tomorrow with both dgd15. After that I don't think any of them need to go to another funeral this week. It is looking like it will be dd2, the 2 little girls and I going. I told dm that we would come the day before and leave after the family dinner. We have to stay in a motel and it just seems better to make it a 2 day trip. The boys will be coming home Friday and dh will be back Friday or Saturday, so we will need to be home.

Dh is in Canada. The wife of one of the guys called to let me know they were there and safe. The guys had decided to just call 1 wife due to the high cost and have her call the other 2.

At least I have 2 full days to clean, mow, do laundry and pack.

It was 105 today and with the wind blowing it felt like you were in front of a blow torch.
