Nancy...I've seen shawls like that before. I think my grandmother made me one like that many, many years ago.

Re: Beautiful day in the village Monday
Got that last skillet washed and dried. White clothes in the washer, almost finished with the cycle. I keep eyeballing the road looking for the FedEx driver with my clothesline! I may have to use my dryer.
At our house we buy specific things for Sweetie to snack on; primarily meat sticks and cheese sticks/string cheese. Lucky me, he forgets what's leftover in the refrigerator!

Re: Beautiful day in the village Monday
I'm home again with Macs. We signed out at our mountain vet and they gave me copies of records to go to new vet, although the vet will call tomorrow or Wednesday with the results of this bloodwork. (Macs has canine Cushings disease for which we give him meds.) The testing involves taking a blood sample, giving him an injection, then taking another blood sample an hour later to measure the change in the adrenal response.
The washer/dryer delivery people called at noon while I was at the vet offering to deliver then, but I didn't want to leave Macs there to meet them. I think they are to call back later, I hope that's what I understood.
Giving myself just a few minutes of downtime....

My few minutes of down time are now up.
Next challenge, either start writing a sermon or work on bookkeeping.

Came back briefly to say hi and remembered I hadn't call the dr's yet. Picked up the phone and I now have an appointment for Wed. morning at 9:30. Know they will want to do blood work, so must remind myself to drink plenty of water before I go and not to eat breakfast. I can live with that.
The sky has been 80% covered with clouds. Good for me as that means I don't think we'll be hitting to 115 temp today. I'm all for that. Got everything I need to get done except my exercising and that is next. I wrote letter of recommendation for the student I am suppose to see tomorrow. Just asked her if she will be there...I could tell by the post she had just gotten up. She said...I thought it was today...to which I replied...In that case you're late and just stood me up
We'll see what happens tomorrow. We're suppose to meet at the public library...even if she does forget me, I don't mind cause I can spend hours wandering around there.
Got to get going...Waving to ya'll...........

Re: Beautiful day in the village Monday
Nancy, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the beautiful scarves and wraps!
Kathryn, thinking of your image concepts of "woven" and of both in-progress and completed images, I thought of my Brisco's Cabin quilt, photographs of which I posted (scroll down) in The Creative Home here in-progress and completed. Larger ones of these are on my computer, I believe. Are you thinking of copyright, so that you'd rather use ours, or are you wanting to be able to say you were hanging around chatting with us when we made these? (because you were)

Harriet: I'm thinking of copyright first of all. But in general, I try to never use pictures that don't belong to me, I guess it is my words and so I want it to be my pictures as well when I illustrate a sermon. There's also the fact that some people might object to their photos being used in a religious service.
I ended up on the phone with my music friend who is having surgery tomorrow.
I also set up a playlist on my mp3 player with the choir music so it can cycle through over and over while I work without playing any other song (since these songs are quiet and I have the volume up quite loud.) The joy of listening to it over and over, is my part is the only part clearly heard, thus I won't learn any other part by accident and confuse myself. Can you tell I'm obsessing over this?! I must have sung only 30 bars (over the 9 pieces) on Saturday because I couldn't read my part, nor hear my part in the chords so just listened and followed along with my eyes, making notes on the music. So I want to have at least 2 or 3 songs I can sing along with by Wednesday night.

Back...
I did 25 minutes of my 40 minute dvd, but now I need to get ready for my hair appointment. Don't think I want to be seen dressed like this out on the streets. Might look good on Britany Spears but not on me...at least for the moment. Perhaps in 90 days... a girl can dream.

Re: Beautiful day in the village Monday
I must have needed a little extra rest - I was up at 5:30 this morning. I slept hard for 45 minutes, then was surprised when the snooze alarm went off again.
I've made a list for the contractor guy for tonight. The handyman who has done a lot of work in this neighborhood didn't pan out to do a round of repairs before we moved out. He continued to put me off and finally just didn't call back. He's done a lot of work for several neighbors and we finally decided there must be some issue going on with him. That leaves a lot of work to be done.
Washer/dryer people checked in and delivery will end up being around 5 p.m. which I'm afraid will put me into the meeting time for the contractor guy. Oy. Sending him a text message. I think I'll head on to other house - need to stop at cleaners and also Walmart for more bubble wrap on the way.
