We made cookies this morning for ice cream sandwiches
Lunch is over as predicted deviled eggs were short lived!

I picked up the living room and the older ones are working on yarn projects dgson is learning to crochet!

Y'all have certainly been quiet this afternoon...

I ended up with a pretty busy day myself. After dfriend left, I
* ironed dh's shorts & one pair of jeans
* went to
-- church to sign paper from last meeting
-- cleaners
-- Merle Norman store
-- bank
-- drug store * and drat * forgot my own rx to be refilled, while getting dh's
-- dmil's w/dh
Then dh & I went out to eat & now we are back home again. I need a nap.

Dgs has his first doctor's visit tomorrow and I am a little nervous, b/c ddil just basically picked a doctor out of the internet listings @ random. Her first choice was not taking new patients, so she just pretty much closed her eyes and picked one, I think.
I hope she (the doctor) is good & they like her, and that she will be on top of things, as far as noticing if everything is developing normally, you know... dh says I just can't be happy if I am not worried about something... and y'all know that's the truth... but it's hard to tell much about a baby that just sleeps 90% of the time. And I mean, he sleeps VERY soundly. He doesn't care who holds him, how they hold him, nothing matters until you start changing his diaper or giving him a bath... and ds says he will let them know when he's hungry (although I have my doubts as to how much they've tested that out!) It's just been so long since we've had a little one, I can't help but be a little edgy.
I'm sure my dmom would tell me to just relax and enjoy this time of sleep-sleep-sleep. As I've told y'all before, I think I started crying on day one and didn't stop till I was six months old. I'm amazed they didn't throw me away. ;)

Nancy, I think that is GREAT that you made the dgchildren help put away all their stuff. I hope to be like that, too, b/c the number one thing I think I'd do differently if I were starting over w/ds as a baby now, is that I would try to TEACH him to do chores WITH me, instead of just doing it myself and/or fussing b/c he didn't do it HIMSELF at my instruction.
Excellent idea, Sunny -- Dgkids have certain chores they do every day & week.
I only wish I could teach MYSELF to follow that rule. * sigh *
Tomorrow is another day.

Long end of the day.

We ended up going into town because my new wedding ring was ready and we wanted to pick it up before they shut for holidays. I can't believe it, but the whole thing, including taxes, was under $700. It is bigger (the ring, not the stones!) than I imagined but I think I like it. It is taking time to get used to it. Dh is pleased. It still doesn't feel like 'my' ring, just something that belongs to someone else and I'm borrowing it.

After that, we did a Costco run to refill the bbq tank and then supper. On the way to costco we passed a place with a sign for schnitzel so drove back to there and had that. A good sign, we could hear them pounding the schnitzel. The bad thing is that we had lost track of the time and it was 5:50 and they hadn't starting cooking yet. We had to be at choir for 6:30. So we were late but we really enjoyed our schnitzel and will go back there again.

Choir went very well but dh has us going back tomorrow night too. This won't work for me as my jaw is extremely sore right now. Dh completely forgot that singing does that to me since it hadn't hurt for a while. I haven't sung for a long time, either. Sigh....

I may have to drop out because it makes not sense to be in extreme discomfort bordering on pain just to sing. In the meantime, dh may be pressed into service to lead the commissioners at General Council in musical worship 3x a day during the meetings. That's 600 people. Doesn't faze my dh a bit, he's excited!

I'm working on the sermon now, hoping to finish it before bed. I'm pretty sure I've got all the words written, I just don't have them in the right order so have printed off a copy. I'm going to zap a bean bag to help with my jaw, take some pain meds, and then get ready for bed while working with a red pen on the sermon. I can multi-task!

(((Kathryn))) I am so sorry you are having such trouble w/singing. It is so unfair to have to give up something you enjoy like that. We have a very dfriend who had to give up singing b/c of a throat problem. So sad for her and all who enjoyed hearing her. I hope you get some relief soon & this problem doesn't last forever! (((BIG HUGS)))
Tomorrow is another day.
