Indiana, you have rip-roaring oxygen!

Apple at the keyboard! I must raise my hand and plead guilty to a similar offence many mornings. Here are my strategies to keep them from causing any trouble, If it is a new apple, I wash it with the veggie wash, so I just keep the paper towel I dried it with to hold it. If it's a half-apple from the fridge, I keep the baggie I refrigerated it in as a holder. If I quickly pop a half-apple into a baggie, squeeze out air and store in the fridge bottom down on a flat surface, it will be just about as nice the next day.

With a new baby every few years, I know exactly how HRH talks to a toddler, at least, if not a baby. Donald Duck voice. Every time. "Oh, boy!" he says, as if he just had a dose of helium. I think each of the boys have had moments to wonder if that's his natural speaking voice. Have to admit sometimes he does Elvis. if there's any reason to say "thank you".

I always called DMIL and DFIL by their first names, too. Somewhere along the way I started to call them by the names the grandchildren use. But I am happy not to have history repeat itself! So I will be "Mom". DH is not all that happy to be called "Dad", but he will adjust!

This has been a good day, but nothing rip-roaring about it. I did re-frame some pictures and rearrange a few things. Still "decompressing" from last week, which was too busy. Should vacuum...

h. is doing watered here for me. Came home early and was upset b/c they almost laid him off it's really slow, but one guy said he needed help after hours clean up a split shift.
So needless to say h. is worried and concerned.

I've watered plants and done pet chores, Dson was there spraying so we had a good visit afterwards waiting for the bug spray to dry. Dgds #1;#2 are here this afternoon. They made mac. n cheese w/ hot dog chopped up in it and cake & ice cream w/ hubby.

This morning I got pruning done this morning still have one trash can to empty out.
We just un-staged the deck. Patio expansion is on hold now. =(

Lucylee: get thee to a computer store and try out the external keyboards until you find one that you love. Plug it into your laptop and you'll be good to go.

I, of course, do not follow my own advice and have found I've had to shake crumbs that were jamming under my space bar on more than one occasion. Before you even mentioned the apple, I was thinking "peanut butter cracker crumb." On that chance that it is a crumb and not sticky stuff, suspend or turn off your laptop and tilt in on its side and give the bottom a couple of light taps to shift any loose crumbs out from under the key connection points. If you turn your laptop upside down and tap the bottom, dust and other debris might come out but not likely for you because you computer is too new.

Another space bar issue is that key is held on at two places. If you can hit it reliably with your left thumb, it means the right hand connection is not on correctly. That happened to me once and ds swiftly fixed it using his computer repair guy magic (he probably pushed down hard or pried up, but certainly something I would not have done, not know how much torque I could put on it.)

Home from Burlington, MA. It was a good day afternoon but I must say I can't recall the last time I had to sit through business stuff like that so I've obviously not been to a Standards Meeting event for a long, long, time.

Dh was honoured (the reason we were here.) He got a plaque and a speech. I was honoured in the speeches because of my financial support to Standards (all the travel comes out of our pocket and when he's working on Standards, dh isn't billable so there is opportunity cost as well.) Many people came up to thank me after.

There was a good dinner after the meeting and the lightening round speeches (registered people would speak for 3 minutes on their pet project within the organization.) Most had to do with cloud computing and development of Standards for that to help people overcome their fear of data security.

All in all, I understood only 1/10 of what I heard. I did enjoy seeing industry friends though and there were a lot there as this is the general meeting of the organization so all the key people flew in for the meetings. Dh has been actively involved since 92 and me since 97 so we've known some of these people for a long time. Those that know me were thrilled that I've become a preacher. But surprised.

The drive was effortless.

On the drive back I spent the time mapping out our route home. We'll take a ferry because I love taking ferries and there are several for us to choose from across Lake Champlain.

havenlt got much done planning on a yard sale starting Friday thru Friday got to do something for money Hubby hasnt worked this month what little he did we dont know when he will get paid for it. Very good chance of having to ask parents for help .
I am so stressed out this month things need to improve. at this point i do three hours a day for three days watching an elderly lady so their is a little money their. I do yard duty during the school year were out for the summer we dont start school again until Aug. 27 so we will have two weeks on that paycheck but will not see it until Oct. we run a month behind .
Praying for hubby to be working next week.

BWTG with the babysitting, Lucylee. I'll just bet you're learning how to be an awesome DGrandma.

Twins, painting is such hard work, I'll have to pass on your offer. I can hardly move, my leg muscles are so sore from the painting I did, also my shoulder and arm muscles. Tuesday I cut in at the baseboard, scooting from one position to the next...and struggling to get up a million times when I had to. Really feeling it today.

Was very glad to have today off, though it was a rip-roaring busy day for me. I started out at church helping with a mailing for about 40 minutes. Then I hit the toy store (gift for DGD turning 2) and then the grocery, which was a really long shop and a lot of bags. I had to get DH a throw rug for his side of the bed too as the backing on his wore out and he was close to falling while trying to get up from the bed.

After unloading all those groceries and rearranging refrigerator and pantry so it would all fit, I tackled the house. Made 2 beds with fresh sheets, did a boatload of dishes, did some general cleanup, and stashed all the sewing stuff away. Finally at about 2:00 DD1 arrived with 2 DGSons and DGD. She's almost 2, and cute as a button, getting taller and talking quite a bit now. She was not as shy with me as she used to be.

DD is off picking up her DH at airport and I am here while 1 DGS and DGD sleep. My kind of babysitting! We have a few plans for tomorrow, should be fun. DH is trying to get some time off to spend with us, he may be free all morning. I guess I'll go rest a bit till family is back.

Harmony thanks It would help if this economy would get on the right path. My hubby is a cabinet maker and no one wants to redo any thing andwith not much building going on it really hurts his profession, his boss is trying but nobody has money to do anything at the moment.

Harmony enjoy the grandkids , I have never met my two grandkids, they live in Ohio and i am in Calif. we just don't have the money to go back and see them i do gets lots of pictures and text from my daughter so i can keep up with them but oh my goodness i give a lot to see and hold those two. Some day it will happen.

I have to get up in the morning and get allergy shot, then go to next town for doctor's appt. * sheesh *
Just wanted to let Kathryn know -- computer is not a laptop -- so switching keyboard was a simple matter -- I just went back to the one I was using before. I like it MUCH better, anyway, even if the new one were working perfectly.
