Harriet, I agree with you about the possibility of the thyroid being messed up, in reference to Harmony. Another sign of thyroid problems is when your heart is beating too fast. Both my dmil and my dad had this issue and the drs. were thinking it was heart related. In both cases I told them to have their thyroids checked and that was the problem, not the heart.
Also, if a person is on any thyroid meds they need to make sure they are taking it hours apart from iron or a multiple vitamin with iron. This happened to me 9 years ago. Every day by the time I was done taking a bath, doing hair and makeup, I was done for the day. Day after day. Finally I found this info on the internet and when I told my dr. he seemed very annoyed that I had mentioned it. That is when I realized drs. don't appreciate us knowing more than them.
Harriet, I hope your dms advice will help dd32 as she waits for this to blow over.

Re: TIMER THURSDAY
Yes, that quote from dHarriet's dmom has been one of the best tidbits of wisdom I've ever heard. I (try to) say it to myself at pertinent moments. I'm sorry about your DD's work difficulties. Some people are just like that. I'm so glad you're the kind of mom who can talk it through with her.
Well, I wasn't home for 2 hours before ds emailed with some things he had left at home. Ah, that is my ds18!
He has also found a couple friends from high school in his hall (I think he means floor/hallway?) including one who is right next door! So, he is jazzed about that.
I didn't get to any of my 5X5s. But I did unload the car, repack the camping bin, clean up where the cat threw up last night
, have lunch, respond to ds' emails, have some devo. time. I can't believe it is 2 pm already!!! I'd better start on that 5x5 list. I'm planning on 5 pm for exercise.

Re: TIMER THURSDAY
Our dneighbor/vgood friend, went to court yesterday for the preliminary hearing (involving evidence) for the guy who hit and killed her dh last July. He was charged in November for vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. (His story was he was distracted, reaching for a hammer & ran the stop sign). At the hearing he waived his right to a jury trial (was to start on next Tuesday). So the judge will hear the case. Dfriend's not sure if this will be good or not so good for them. Obviously his lawyer had convinced him he'd do better this way. So????????????? Time will tell
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Have not had time to CUOP. I have 5 minutes before my phone interview. Then, after that there is an in person interview. Thanks to everyone who has been praying for me, I really appreciate it. Gotta go make that phone call!

Re: TIMER THURSDAY
Hello dear ladies,
Good Luck Elizabeth with the interview.
Dee, I have to agree with the others here that the DD's motor home or other accommodations for the ils would be better for all of you. The thoughts of so many people and only one bathroom
would give me an anxiety attack just by itself.
I got my dailies done, made lunch for all the guys, and cleaned up from it, got the dishwasher running.
I didn't get to dusting this week.
Just had a hard time focusing.
Going to do a bit of reading and chilling out and then head to work.
Wonderful day to all!

Re: TIMER THURSDAY
One interview down, one to go. ACK!!! One minus - this job would take place on base, which is about an hour away and starts early. The plus is that it pays. Of course, that assumes I even get it. I don't know how many people applied for it. One nice thing, during the interview, I had a cat for company rubbing on me and purring. I will be glad when today is over. I need to remember to turn off my cell phone during the interview! I think I will unload/load a dishwasher now and then maybe read a book. At 2:30 I should leave for the interview. I cannot find any of my makeup except for a cherry chapstick. It will have to do. Last night I realized I had left some jewelry at XDH's house, so I went and got it. Tonight I have curriculum night at DD10's school. Between interview and meeting, I think I will buy some yarn. I need inexpensive acrylic for blanket squares. I want to send DD off to college with a crocheted blanket. I know, I've got a while, but who wants to be doing it at the last minute. I am rambling. I should go. See you later.

Up from nap. Had a carrot, some cherry tomatoes and some hummus. Need to think about dinner since I have my doctor's appointment at 6:15.

Re: TIMER THURSDAY
I'm taking a break to get a bite of lunch and wanted to cuop at the same time.
Everything is just about ready for ddil#3 and her sisters. They should be here sometime between 5 am and 8 am tomorrow morning.
*Both extra bedrooms are done, beds made up, furniture dusted, carpet swept.
*Guest bath is s/s with fresh soap and towels out.
*Hard floors are mopped; living areas will be swept this evening so ddogs have less time to shed on them again!
*Sofa & chair have been sticky-rollered (to eliminate flyaway dog fur).
*Kitchen sink & counters cleaned.
Still need to do...
*fold my clean clothes/put away.
*run load of tea towels.
*Wash the three dog bed covers.
*Put the two 12-pack soda cans on shelf in kitchen cupboard.
*Set up cot for third bed.
That should do it for the day!
Helia, ds dorm sounds nice. It's good that he found some more friends he knows.
OKay, you have inspired me with your closet redos so I have cleaned out the shelves in the one bedroom closet and reorganized; looking much better.
Fall weather already Nancy (and others up north)? It's 89* here now. I'm ready for some cooler weather!
Harriet, good for dd32 getting the head position. Too bad she has to hear complaining about it. Better to let the supervisor handle it! Your dmom had the right idea!
Good wishes for your interview, Elizabeth.
Guess I better get started with those last few things...

Re: TIMER THURSDAY
Hi, all!
I'm being very lazy today. Did do one lol. DH and I enjoyed the movie last night. We kept noticing where things differed from the book, but that is to be expected. Looking forward to the second movie in the Hunger Games series.
Very pretty house, Twins! I liked Helia's idea of everyone showing pictures of their homes, but I would be too chicken to do that...don't need anyone driving by saying "That's where that weird Ellyphant lives!"
Good luck, Elizabeth!
Sunny--We're going up to 90 tomorrow, after feeling like Fall for a few days.

Re: TIMER THURSDAY
Have only gotten 2 of my 5 done by 5:30. I don't think I should do 5x5s anymore -- or I should include the other things I do in my 5x5s.
x thanks yous addressed -- except for 2 school friends whose addresses I can't find.
x photo album started! I did some organizing of the photos in the photo bin first, so maybe that should count too. I think I will ask my girls to help with a couple slight artistic touches I'd like to add. I'm keeping a list of photos to scan b/c we only have one copy.
x figured out (again!) how to give online to 2 organizations w/ people we support and took care of that
x tidied the island
I'm off to jog now. It is gorgeous out, clear, sunny -- a bit warm for a jog at 82. . . . But if I don't do it now, I won't do it today. The sun will be setting around 8 pm. Much of my route is shaded - but not all.
Nice idea for DD10, Elizabeth. Dmom made ds a quilt (she is a wonderful quilter!) to take to his dorm room. I didn't realize at the time that the beds are extra long twins, but it probably fit well enough anyway. Ds isn't picky about that sort of thing. I hope the 2nd interview goes well!
Sometimes a lazy day is good, Elly. Yes, though I'm usually a purist when it comes to films made from books, I actually appreciated some of the ways that movie differed from the book; there were some scenes in the book I wasn't sure I could watch onscreen, but I felt the movie version really softened the violence. . . . .either that or my own imagination while reading the book ran away with me. I also liked that Katniss was attractive but not gorgeous. I guess that would be consistent with the book -- I think?
You've had a productive day, Sunny!
I'm off before I sit here too long.
