For Nancy;
♫ Happy Belated Birthday to you,
Happy Belated Birthday to you,
Happy belated Birthday dear Nancy,
Happy Belated Birthday to you,♫

Usually I sing it in an Ode to Marilyn Monroe voice, but with my sinusis the way they are be glad you aren't actually hearing me. I hope that helps. ;)

So why am I back you ask... well, I never actually made it out the door, about 5 minutes prior to leaving my work DH who is the Staffing Director called and asked if I could come in at 3 pm. We have a serious RN shortage tonight and he needs me to work as a Charge Nurse on the Adult Unit. Oh, the joys of being middle management. :? I hate working the Adult Unit, but at least it isn't ITU (psych version of an ICU). My units are actually the Military and Adolescent units but those are staffed, (grumble) DP left holes in her schedule, which I did not.

Used the extra time to iron DS19's outfit for court, also started a new lol since I don't have to leave now till 2:30 pm. Managed to Iron his tie without ruining it. My DOS19 (son from another Mother) who lived with us up until July 3rd had a habit of washing ties while knotted. :evil: Still have one that I haven't been able to untie.

Question for those more experienced DMom's out there, why is DS19 constantly arguing EVERYTHING with me... I mean even over things that there is no point in arguing... he is driving me NUTS!!!

Need to finish schoolwork since it is due by midnight and I may still be at work, then I need to try and take a nap as I may have to stay until 7 am.

To Do list;
:D Coffee
:evil: Reboot Laundry (3)washer (3)dryer (2)folded {need to get DS's to put theirs away, especially since most of it is theirs}
:D Update Outlook Calendar with School deadlines
:) Schoolwork (In process)
:D Get Dressed and ready (now have to get undressed and wear scrubs when I get up rather than the Business Casual I am wearing now)
:D Iron DS19's outfit for court
:D Tie DS19's Tie... he can't do it :roll:
:arrow: Nap
Work (3-11, maybe 7am)

Okay need to finish schoolwork and try to take a nap.

scattered--I remember DS23 going through a time where he thought he knew way more than I did about everything. He was about 19. He didn't do that with his Dad, just me. DF's son also did that. Maybe that is how boys come of age...Living through their teen years with them helps us be ready to let them go! :lol:

Hmmm.... in a bit of a slump. I've had some lunch. Tried to register ds' microwave but need the serial number to do that. Dh thinks it is a waste of time and $$. It probably is since the MW wasn't very expensive. I'm fighting off the sleepies. I didn't sleep well nor enough last night. Then, a jog first thing in the a.m. often leaves me tired too, once I cool down.

Specific list:
- teeth care
- finish groc. list
- groc. store

Later this afternoon, I want to make cookies to welcome the girls home, a personal tradition on the first day of school. I'll pick up the girls at 3:30. Then, dd14 has her oboe lesson at 4:45. Her lessons have been upped to 1 hour in length to add time for working on reed-making skills. I'll try to have dinner (simple - tacoes) ready before I take her b/c dh has his ceramics class at 6 tonight, and he doesn't want to be too late -- and I won't be home from the oboe lesson until after 6. I'll bring some reading and/or Hebrew with me and hang out in a nearby coffee shop during the lesson. I haven't looked at Hebrew since the semester ended in April. :shock: I'm thinking of attending the placement session tomorrow night at a local synagogue. It has occurred to me, however, that they may teach the singing/chanting, which I don't know and which isn't so important to me. If so, I might be placed lower b/c of my lack of skills there, while my reading and comprehension might be higher so this may not be a good fit. I don't know yet, but I guess I'll find out! I need to figure out a way to keep up my Hebs. skills, and I think I need external accountability to do that. Any wisdom you have in this area would be welcome, Twins! --If you're back from your vacation. . .. .

Lunch was Subway (picked up by DH and brought home).

LO bedroom cleanse progress report = Painting is DONE! It took me 4 hours to paint approx 700 sq ft. of walls/ceilings. I am thankful to be able to physically do it, but I'm sure I will be sore the next couple of days. I've taken the tape off the trim/windows/doors and only found a couple paint blob bloopers that are easily cleaned up. I'll let the room dry the rest of the day/night and start moving things into the room tomorrow.

LO didn't have his meeting with counselor this morning because she is attending required training to keep her license. Just as well since nothing has happened since LO last met with her (last Tuesday). DD txt last night and asked what time would be good to call LO tonight. It has been 10 days since the last time she called him.

The day has gone ok so far.

Got off on time, with healthy snacks and drinks in my cooler bag.

Volunteering went well. What I wrote last night was fine so that's done. I got some tidying of the leftover space, taking an hour to work on that, then an hour working sitting down cataloging books.

Hair cut was fine but the new hair wash girl is pathetic compared to the old one. It hurt me to tip her. The old one is setting up a 'wife duties' company which includes cleaning. I think I might hire her if she can come out to our place.

Dh ran his errand while I was in the chair, I did the banking while he was in the chair and realized it was the first time I'd gone anywhere without him for 5 weeks. Only had to walk a block but felt vulnerable and weak. I've got to start strolling more, my legs are just too weak these days from lack of use.

Had a nice visit with the chip wagon lady. She had something like this and was exhausted for a year and took 3 years to fully recover. Hers seemed to have started with a bug bite of some sort. She asked if I had any marks on my body and dh assured her I didn't, he had looked me over thoroughly. She (and her mother) got a huge laugh out of that!

Only one errand on the way home, plus picking up the mail and sending in our company US tax return.

Dee: the weather here was low 80s, cloudy and just a small breeze. The sun actually came out on our way into the city this morning and dh had to use the backup sunglasses in the car. On our way home it started to rain hard. Dh got soaked running into the general store. On the bright side, the car is cleaner now! But I'll wait before bringing in the garbage cans. The outside temp is now in the 60s so I've opened up the windows in the bedroom during my nap so I can have fresh air.

I've got dinner defrosting and then will head to bed for a short while. Dh needs to leave the house by 6:15 so I have to be up by 4:10 in order to get dinner (stuffed rolled pork) ready on time. That's one of 'my' dinners and he doesn't know how to make it. I'm also defrosting ground beef and he'll double the mashed potatoes and make up a Shepherd's Pie for tomorrow.

Think Isaac finally reached us and most likely, Kathryn, about the same time. Storm has been traveling mostly northeast and brushed us a few times but only got a sprinkle, till now. Lost power for a few. Unplugged my computer so I'm on battery now. I was in "our" town about 9 miles north an hour or so ago and it was pouring -nary a drop here. Looks (by the radar) that we might be in for a spell. We really do need the rain. It is about "dark-thirty" here right now! :?
at 3 o'clock!

Went to the bank for quarters for laundry and dh's paper and put in a couple checks for him. The guy who was kicked out last week gave him a $100 to seed his lawn and winterize and move his deck. Wanted to get that cashed. Was supposed to go to another store but by then it was really pouring and decided it could wait. DH hardly believed me. ;)

Hmmmm....what to fix for dinner. Used my micro-pan for lunch -cooked left over salt potatoes, green peppers and sausage together. It was good! Thinking now of going back to C World and getting the other cook pan & muffin insert they have. Have to use my C World $$'s on something before December. Have $150 left and I will be sure to spend MORE than $50 at a crack so I use the entire thing. Lost money on the last one I turned in. Should have known better. Will really think on if we need anything else for our park model before then. Rather do it here than in FL so we don't have to transport anything.
