I'm sitting here thinking that Scattered has access to the good drugs. This might be important to me some day!

Back from the airport. Dh was successfully dropped off. I had to get gas on the way home (he was late enough that I wouldn't let him stop on the way in) and the last station before the airport was 10 cents a gallon cheaper than the other stations so it was good I insisted on doing it myself.

I had a powerful craving for jelly beans and it was a lot of work to them.

At the gas station, candy cost 30% too much but didn't matter, no jelly beans.

Grocery store - got potatoes and Angel Food Cake mix (on sale very cheap, first Holiday Grand Plan item bought.) No jelly beans, though, except gourmet and I don't like those.

Local pharmacy in Manotick, the Open Sign was lit but they had just closed.

Discount store. Success! But I ended up having to buy 800g worth. Should last me a while. I'm going to decant into snack bags and keep them in the car since they really do help with the tiredness. Also bought myself a pretty glass with the Lord's Prayer on it, 16 oz, built in straw, lid, designed to keep cold drinks cold and BPA free.

Now I'm home and in bed, just under 7.5 hours after getting up. Very tired and ready to close my eyes.

LOL at all ya'll... yes I work with a lot of crazy people and that's not including the patients! Yes I have access to the good drugs, unfortunately I have to account for all of them too. Had thought about what our intake department would think of a bunch of middle aged women moving through there houses (RV's) singing off key at the top of our lungs attacking piles of clutter...

For dinner tonight I am making a variation of cottage pie, the boys and I are having our standard 'whats for dinner argument.' They ask "whats for dinner" and I say "food," they then ask "what kind of food?" To which I respond "edible," they then say "what kind of edible food?" This can go on for a long time with them getting very frustrated and me feeling smirky. Not sure why they bother since the rule in this house has always been you eat whats made or you don't eat.

Need to flip the laundry and start cooking.

To Do List
:D Lots of coffee
:D sort laundry
 wash laundry lol (1)
dry laundry
fold laundry
put away laundry
:D pull out hamburger for dinner
Make Dinner

Happy Puppy Dance for Nancy!

But... ... as The Little Red Hen might ask, who will help you hatch the eggs? Nancy, as motherly as you may feel toward them you can't do it yourself! And here I am with Miss Perpetually Broody and Nuts herself, Cicely the opinionated hen. Right now, she would hatch an ostrich egg if it was only fertilized. But we have no one of the male persuasion and have not had, so she is sad. Why don't you just bring the eggs over here to make her happy? It's only 3,000 miles.

Oh, dd14 says "she probably has an incubator, Mom."

We are off the road and parked in a beautiful spot. We have friends to our left and no one on our right.

DH is working on getting our TV dish up for TV tonight. We are also avoiding some old crabs that we don't want to talk to. (Not all RVers are nice - just like not all people are nice)

Think I should unload the bed so I can hit it after the sun goes down with no problems.

Good evening! Today was: church and then helping out in the 5th/6th grade classroom during SS hour. There were only 22 kids there today! When dh and I used to teach this class there were around 40. Maybe these grades have fewer kids?? I am the substitute for this class and I've forgotten what 5th/6th graders are like, so I'm going to hang out in that class some this semester.

Girls wanted Panera for lunch, so we stopped by and picked some up to take home. Dfriend R ate with us. Dfriend S had meetings to attend immediately after church. Dh left church after the service to come home and work on the papers due tomorrow. He did join us for lunch and then went back to work. He just now left to go into his office; the students have been there all day, and the other prof. with whom he works closely is there too. He feels he should be there. Definitely feeling the crunch, but it will all be over tomorrow.

scattered, I'm sorry - I should have volunteered to look at your essay since I used to teach college English -- granted, it was ESL so not exactly standard English. However, my sub-interest in my field is teaching writing. One odd issue I have is that dh doesn't really like my posting here -- nothing personal against you all; he just thinks you distract me. :) I'm not sure he realizes I'm back posting again, and I don't really want to call attention to that fact, which editing someone's essay would surely do. . . . . I AM doing much better not being obsessive about being here. What are you working on in your schooling?

It is nice to see Twins back!

Dfriend R is an M.D. so we get to hear about hospital workings from his perspective. It sounds like there is plenty of craziness outside the psych ward too. :)

Your lightning story was amazing, Cowinkie. So glad it wasn't worse. . . .

LOL at the Christian eggs, nancy! How many?

I think dfriend R is eating with us tonight; I'm not sure what we're eating. Maybe leftovers. The pulled pork last night was deemed really good! I got several enthusiastic comments. However, that means there is very little left over. . . .

I'm going to tend to the chickens -- for those who don't know, we have 2 hens even though we live within the city limits and actually, not too far from downtown. It is a recent city ordinance here that one can have up to 4 hens if the neighbors agree. We started with 4 and are down to 2. After these 2 expire, I think we'll get rid of the coop and say, "That was a nice experience."

Waving to all!!

Kathryn--Thanks for your comments about singing! I do, indeed, sing out now, but for many years I didn't.

scattered--LOL at your description of us all! We had eggs, bacon and toast for supper here.

No chickens here, except down the road at a huge chicken/egg farm. We see long trucks going by with open crates that I think are full of eggs.

DH doesn't mind me posting here, but one day he was looking over my shoulder and said "What is DH--designated hitter?" He was referring to the term used in baseball, of course. :)

Forgot to say I can relate to the need for jelly beans. Was thinking today that it's time to get some fall candy. DS tells me that having a candy dish is a sign that one is an old person. Told him I have a candy bowl, not a dish. :)

Twins--I am amazed at the number of your e-mails. I don't get anything like that amount, but most get deleted without being read. I need to do some unsubscribing.

Church was excellent. Message was about turning loose of our excuses. A message I needed to hear!

Lunch with VDFriends was wonderful. LO is old enough now to sit quietly (mostly) while I have conversations with adult friends. I am gradually adding back in bits-N-pieces of my life that came to a halt 4 years ago.

Feet up time was good. I continue to try to nap, but rarely sleep. My rule is toes up for an hour after lunch. If I nap.....Great! Otherwise it is just to take a break and allow my energy to rebuild. I usually watch part of a TV movie or read during that hour.

Planning/prep for the new week has started....

I am home from meeting - very, very nice cold dinner served with wonderful poached salmon. I ate well but didn't overdo, except for maybe the last two bites of dessert. Dh, as one of the meeting organizers brought home some of the extra salmon for me for lunch or dinner tomorrow.

I just sent off one of my emails from earlier as I saved it, then edited again.

Elly, most the emails I keep are related to my synagogue - I save and archive most as a record keeping device. The ones that are getting deleted are from online ordering or genealogy lists or other stuff that I theoretically signed up for at one time. But I didn't delete any last week because I was using the iPad and somehow I prefer to delete on the laptop. Go figure!
