Hello Dear Ladies,

Waving with both hands to Mystery. :D :D :D

It is a beautiful day here, temp was 75 when I walked. Was only able to walk 12 minutes and not 20 as my legs declared war today. My right leg hurts from sciatic nerve pain and my left knee is just being ornery today with arthritis. So 12 minutes of walking non-stop was all I could get out of the pair.

I got the dishwasher going, cooked lunch for the guys. I didn't get to dust. no surprise there.

Work day today too. Am grateful for the phone job at WM.

Think I will read for a bit and then head off to work.

Wonderful day to all!

Hello Mystery Woman! :D It's nice to "meet" you!

OKay, That's great you got the optic fiber issue for MPB done by the deadline! It's hard to keep paper "stuff" on a deadline under control, I've found. But I try.

Kathryn, It sounds like the scrubber worked for you. Are your floors wood, tile or something else? :?: We have some tile in the bathrooms and entry and the rest of the house is fir floors from our own trees. I cannot mop them and let them air dry because it's bad for the wood. I mop them, then dry with towels on my feet, scoot around, and WOW! :o That exercise sure gives the buns and legs a workout!

I just wanted to "happily" report that DH found out that Costco's shingles shots are $188! Much better than $210 - $219! I was so pleased he took the time out of his busy shopping day there to ask the pharmacist for me. :) Now he's on his way to his retiree's luncheon.

On my PODA:
1- I've been reading my to do lists here and there, make notes and get rid of the list.
2- When the sheets are done and DH is home, we'll make the bed up fresh.
3- I'm hoping to finish the laundry up today. It's my intention.
4- I continue to do gift crochet in baby steps on and off during the day.
5- DH will get the snail mail when he comes home, since it's 1/4 mile away through the woods, from my house and we have a COUGAR now! I hate to admit it, but I'm scared to death to walk to the mailbox and back since I found out there is a cougar in our woods. I don't want to sound like a scared y-cat, but I want to use good common sense and remain safe, too. In 1975, DH's grandmother told me that cougars climb trees and jump on you when you walk by. I was young and impressionable then, but it still gives me the "creeps". :(

Well, darn -- I posted this under Wednesday's thread. I'll need to come back later and see what y'all are up to, especially Mystery!!

Back from moms group. Had a meeting afterward w/ child care coordinator and another teacher/leader in the group (who also happens to be the church's children's programs director). I think everything is under control now; we will look for more adults to be in the rooms, 2 minimum per room. And then we need to hold to legal ratios of adults/kid if the number of kids exceeds the legal ratio of kids/2 adults. Two adults/room minimum is actually our church policy, likely related to our insurance policy, and not a bad one. I know some of you had wondered about this policy. We are not a mega-church but we may are also not a small church either; maybe smaller churches can have more relaxed policies? Anyhow, Dfriend thinks this is standard for day care type situations. We will keep our horde of homeschooled teens, though, since they are so good with the kids! :)

By the time the room was cleaned up, meeting held, chatting with friends completed, and I had driven home, it was almost 1 pm. I gave myself an hour for lunch and vegging -- well, now it has been more than an hour.

Now on to the next thing: groc. store and prep for dinner crew tonight. I will go to a meeting at the high school for the music program at 7, but I hope to have the meal ready, etc. before I leave. Friends will arrive a little before 7. Dh will likely take over the cooking once he's home. One new dfriend coming tonight is gluten intolerant, so I need to figure out a dinner bread that she can eat.

I hope everyone is having a great day!

HI Mystery!!!

I'm dealing with that same old friend of HRH's again who just can't get the message that he is wearing out his welcome. He has a reason to come to big city for his work a couple times per year and is bored, so wants to hang out here constantly. He was here for 4 hours 2 days ago and let us know he wants to come again for almost the same amount of time tomorrow. He's just called to say he's on his way again today - complete surprise. I don't know what to do with this. He doesn't seem to believe that HRH has anything to do in the evenings, when in fact it is the time HRH hopes most will be calm. Even though it is the evening hours, we didn't plan on entertaining again today. Our house has an open floor plan and we can't really go to separate areas, nor do we want to. Dd14 is not feeling so well, plus has a lot of homework to do every evening in which we need to have input, especially HRH on her guitar chording. My ddad is extremely confused by visitors and it takes a long time to explain (repetitively). He's already acting suspicious of this friend, and asking me why he stayed so long, partly because my ddad can't be sure of the passage of time, but partly because it really was quite a long visit, especially for a 94-year-old who gets tired and needs attention himself.

:( :( , Harriet!

I snoozed for just a little bit. Got ever blooming day lilies in the mail today and dh wants to plant them shortly. So, I have to go out by the berm and decide where I want them.

So good to see you, Mystery! Hope you can get a moment here and there to keep us up to date on the happenings in your neck of the woods. Doesn't seem possible they're that big already! DGD (Shelley's dd) is now 17 and in her senior year. I know, how did that happen? Weren't you just here 2 years ago?! Her db is now 19, graduated last year and moved out of home with his dad.

Quite warm here this afternoon. But I'm sure it won't be lasting long so will enjoy it while it's still here.

Have a feeling that the 'fly in the ointment' with dh's going for the study on COPD may be the fact that we'll be leaving here in little more than 7 weeks. I think I heard on TV today that it runs for 12 weeks. We'll see.

Well, DH didn't stop where I had planned - again!! Remember a few weeks ago he drove what I had considered a 2 day's drive in one?? Instead of a medium drive today and a short drive tomorrow - he drove a long drive today and we are sitting 2 miles from tomorrow's destination. GGRRRRR!!

I had asked not to come in today as I thought it was too far for him to drive. But all we would have had to do was leave about 1 1/2 hours earlier and we could have been parked at the Rally today.

Oh! well. That's the way our plans in Jell-o are supposed to go.

We are at the Moose lodge, backed in and parked ready to go in the morning. Hope we can find somewhere to eat tonight. Will have to check the map. I don't feel like cooking.

OKay, I really like that quote. I copied it down. When I read it I instantly got a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach... thinking about what tomorrow might hold for us.

So GREAT to see Mystery here, loved reading your post. I remember reading way back when stories of potty training dd. How are you liking your remodeled kitchen? That's about the last thing I remember from you.

Scattered, I'm glad you are feeling better. I am not on psych drugs (maybe I should be  ) and not on cholesterol drugs either. But anything one takes is metabolized mainly through the liver or kidney I guess. The one I take for something else is metabolized through the liver, that's why the dr. is checking that.

Kathryn, I had no idea there was a hepatitis - little h - designation for an inflamed liver. But it makes sense. My DCousin's husband has a liver transplant. I asked him one time if what he had was Hep. and he said no, but drs. told him there were all kinds of Hepatitis not yet given letters after their names... lots of liver stuff not figured out yet.

(Harriet) some people are just clueless.

I helped DH with a plan this morning, got a stew together and in the crock pot. I've been picking up the house. Lots of stuff out of place here. DH called and I had to fax a plan, then go to the beach town to pick up that plan with a stamp on it and take it to him at his job.

Man he is not feeling well. Big ole cold socked into his head. I simply can't get it. I can't I can't I can't.

Tomorrow first thing I'm planning on going to the lab for my tests. (fasting).

Hi everyone! I just got back from lunch with friends. The maids came yesterday. I had a board meeting of the animal org I work with last night. I got compliments on my meeting minutes. Unfortunately, the others are trying to get rid of one board member (not me) because he has not met his fundraising commitments yet. I have problems with requiring board members to have a specific fundraising goal. Because we can simply write a check, it feels like we are buying our seats. Last night, I also did some crocheting on a rug and worked with the newest foster cat. Tonight is going to be rush rush, everything at once. I promised a friend I will call her. Since it has been about a year, that will probably be a long conversation! During that, I need to run a LOL and cook for tomorrow's lunch. I will have to be sure to hang up in time for the mission team meeting at church, after which I will need to work with DCat and wash my hair and probably finish up cooking. I will likely run out of time.

Ivy: my kitchen and foyer floors are vinyl sheet flooring (as are the bathrooms.) Currently 14 and 20 years old. I've got commercial grade wall to wall carpeting in the basement, regular wall to wall in mine and the spare bedrooms (20 years old and looking its age), hardwood in the family, dining, and exercise room (20 years old) and 3 year old engineered wood flooring in the living room and the office (which would be a dining room if anyone else owned the house but my dining room should be the living room and my living room is the family room and the family room is the old eating area of the kitchen which ended up leftover space when we added onto to the house.)

For the past 5 years I wanted to change the older carpet and vinyl flooring but we thought we'd be moving in a few years so didn't want to put the money in and have a buyer not like our weird taste. I finally broke down and updated the living room (engineered wood floors and a new leather couch) and moved the office from the basement to the main floor and put new flooring in there. If dd really moves back here instead of Southern Ontario, the bathrooms which are 27 years old, and the remaining old flooring will be updated. I love the kitchen cupboards but may just change the laminate counter and the sink (although I may not change the counter either because I love them and they are in great shape.)

I just want my house to look nice but don't care about fancy fabrics, decorating, colours, materials because I don't get value from those. So, while I have a good sized house, it will sell for less than others in this neighbourhood because I don't have granite, ceramic, amazing lights (pot lights, fancy fixtures), fancy cabinetry, modern bathroom fixtures, the walls are all painted neutral colours, and I don't have amazing window treatments.

I'm awake now and need to get to work on prep for my meeting (and make myself some dinner.) Ds called to say he'll be here at 8 so will let himself into the house since I won't be back until about 9 or 9:30. Looking at the clock, if I get up now, I should hit my max energy around 7:30 which works well for chairing a meeting that starts at 7.
