Kathryn, let's hope you get some encouraging news at the specialist. I am impressed what you are able to accomplish anyway. I'm not getting near that much done.

Twins, have a blessed holiday, and may your fast be easy.

Dee, when you come back from Florida this time, can't you do any laundry waiting, repack and leave suitcases all ready for the next 6-month trip? When we were traveling back and forth every weekend to DD's, helping them remodel their kitchen & guest bathroom, I kept overnight case ready with duplicates of all the misc. stuff we took, and a laundry basket with air mattress & linens ready. I'd wash the sheets and put them right back in there. Can you tell I hate packing.

Oh, by the way, Dee, did you move to Alaska? I didn't think anybody was -60 yet!

I'm not doing well. I slept till after 10:30. DH came back to see if I was ok. I'd carried my little clock out to the kitchen and accidentally left it out there. If I sleep until I'm rested, it'd be closer to noon I think. I was up late working on paperwork with DH, but not late enough to warrant this.

Let's see what I can accomplish today. Yesterday I had plans to do things. I was going to sew. I only ironed some fabric pieces and made a 12" cardboard square. Ok, here I go.

The t-nol is kicking in a bit, Mystery. Went to town with dh & got the mail. His new passport was there so glad I picked it up. Note to self (or anyone who could use this info): Next time a passport photo is needed (would be me) take a photo with camera, download, send to W Mart and request passport photos, pick up & wallah -a decent photo (hopefully). Dh's is AWFUL! The new guy at the post office is quite unfriendly -have no idea what happened to the gal(s) that used to work there.

I found a few recipes that I want to try. One was for 'creamy corn' that I think I'll try for Monday's potluck. Sounds good 'n easy both.

Back to the recliner and maybe read for a little bit & probably try reading behind my lids.

good morning y'all...

I had such a great day yesterday and hopefully this one will be the same. Last night Lawrence came thundering towards the house on his nasty camel with his white robe and head dress flapping in the wind. However they came to a screeching halt when they realized the desert dust had blown somewhere else. Heaven knows why but I was with dust mitt on hand at 8 last night...and before y'all ask if I can share whatever gave me that burst I gotta tell ya, I don't know where it came from.

I was up early...4am...got up and read in the other room. By 7 I was out the door with Willie Boy. We are using the empty field across the road to do our training. I'm really proud of how fast he is learning my commands. Walked a mile, came home, played frizz-bee with Wiliis for his reward, took a shower and plopped myself in front of the computer.

Mystery reminded me that I still have one load of towels in the dryer that need to be folded and put away. Plus I want to vacuum and mop my floors. Have a few errands to run as well with Sweetie.

Ivy...Sweetie is sort of semi-retired. That means he doesn't have any projects besides his new garage and building his car going on at the moment. He is an inventor, but he HATES when I use that word ;) If you've ever used any gadgets or equipment that helps you find hidden wires or pipes in walls or in the ground, he is the one who designed it...I say invented...He ran an electrical company for years and then took early retirement. Bored and on the cusp of the computer era he decided to lean computer programing. He taught himself 3 computer languages and then began "designing" software for a variety of companies. He "designed" the first LED computer board/sign used in poker rooms. He's designed all sorts of other things for people and scientists. Once he made something that took pictures of birds eating food in the forest. The bird would land on the paper part, eat food and then poop. The poop was the important stuff....He's designed a machine/frame that baseball pitchers use. It measures how fast the ball travels and calculates whether it is a ball or strike, and in his early years designed on of the first a disco dance floor with all the lights, bells and whistles for the Play Boy Club....He's my very own Mr. Magoo. Life is always interesting around here.

Sending well wishes to everyone who is feeling puny. And waving to everyone else...I'm off to tackle my floors and see what other interesting things the day will bring....cy'all later ahhhh...Jimmy Hendrix is playing what a great way to get started :D

Oh, of course, nancy, I did know that you are still hatching eggs. It sounds like they're almost ready -- exciting!

Mystery, my dd16 has hypothyroidism. Her meds were adjusted after her last appt., and she needs to get blood drawn to make sure the new dosage is now correct.

Recipe sounds yummy, Dee!

I like inventors, cowinkie. My dh is an inventor too, and I think he would really enjoy getting to know your dh! Why doesn't he like the word inventor? I'm not sure I'm getting the significance of the bird poop. . . . The research portion of dh's job is inventing; in the past he has worked on microchips and now he and his team are working on a mm size computing system, the first one that small. Sensing applications are already being tested -- in mice tumors, if anyone here remembers. It radioed out info for a couple hours before it died, which was big! Dh outputs real gadgets, unlike some profs who are more theoretical in their output - which is not any less inventing, just different. I suppose Ken is an inventor too! Probably others are too. . . . I think we're made to be creative. Life is always interesting with an inventor around, I'll agree. . .Not all of dh's projects have turned out well, though - that is part of what makes life interesting. He just redesigned a new chicken feeder since the first one he made had some issues.

Back from coffee with dfriend. So good to meet with her; we talk deep. She is one of the teachers on the moms group teaching team. She is also the church's children's programs director.

I came home for lunch and to tweak my groc. list. Errands will be next.

Gray here now, not too cold. We had sunshine earlier. No rain, though.

Very gray here too, Helia. But I think the rain Mystery has been getting has been quite a bit south of us into PA really. So it's coming pretty much due east. Now whether that will change remains to be seen.

Had grilled wrap (in my micro cooker) with ham & swiss cheese on flatout bread. (originally found this at Wmart on recommendation from you, Helia). This says "Hungry Girl Goldit Flatbread/Traditional white). Perfect size. Was yummy! The flatbread is 100 calories itself.

Just started eating when Dr's office called (thinking of you, Harriet and Harmony waiting for Dr.s calls. Or is it Kathryn?) At any rate my bone density test done Fri just came back & showed "mild osteopenia". I understand that comes before osteoporsis. She wants me taking calcium with D. The recommendation is 1200mg/day. They come in 600mg and she wants me to take 2 capsules a day, apart from each other because the body won't absorb all that calcium at one time. Don't I remember something about calcium also being good for weight loss? Harriet can tell me, I'm sure.

Lots of action here today! My "address" went well and I'm back home for now. I'm waiting for the water to boil for my noodles....drumming fingers. Once the kugel is in the over I'll nap.

I have a fast headache going already - took two naprosyn and hoping my empty tummy can handle it. I do drink water....

Yeah Helia...you get it ;)

The bird poop collected on the paper was analyzed to determine what the birds were eating. Something to do with migration I think After the bird jumped off the paper, it rewind saving the poop paper and replacing it with a clean strip for the next bird.
He's designed all sorts of equipment used by a geologist from this area. Way too scientific for me to understand but I like it when Sweetie explains things to me. To me his ability to explain how science works is his greatest talent. He would have made a fantastic science teacher, but he never finished college. Got too bored :)

Hi Blessed...nice that we are getting to see a little bit of you more often.
No, no, no to the headache Twins,,,glad your address went well. Happy napping :D

"Designing Husbands" chat :) - Very cool about all the  that have gone on in our husbands' heads! I love reading about it all.

More Designing Husband chat - Has anyone ever eaten the large burger buns at Wendy's, for instance, or other buns that have on top a perfect circular dusting of cornmeal? Well, while working in Quality Control for a large baking company now "acquired to death", HRH designed the mechanism that perfectly distribute that, so that it is even over the top of every bun on the line. Since then, all of us average consumers have been able to afford a classic "Kaiser" or other roll with the traditional old-world style cornmeal topping, rather than only those who can afford high-end bakeries who are still doing it by hand. Vital, historic advance in the free world. :| Sesame seeds were always easier because of their size, but the cornmeal was so lightweight the same method wouldn't work. His mechanism is in use lots of places, but Wendy's even paid his way several times to their headquarters in Ohio to view their lines and see if his mechanism was doing well in operation for them. They offered him a really nice position there (all Wendy's bread is made in Ohio) and a raise that might have made his head turn, but he was in love with somebody here. :D

Dee, the last thing we chatted about in H and F about bone density were the articles about so many minerals being involved, not just calcium. That's when I went shopping for the recommended mineral-rich salt Lynlee already used. (August?) I guess I'd have to say I don't know much about calcium in particular except that I've read you are supposed to also add magnesium when you add calcium.

Good afternoon! It's hard to keep up with everyone today!

House is straight, 1lol washing, mail dealt with, supper planned...

Had success yesterday finding a lampshade at Wmart. Never did find their haircolor, though. It wasn't where it is in every other store of theirs I've been in. I would have asked someone, but could barely move my mouth from being at the dentist. My dark hair is looking nice and "sparkly". Maybe I will forego the coloring and see what happens! :)

Must go balance checkbook (several months behind) DH keeps threatening to take over this task if I don't get it caught up! I have paid bills and handled all paperwork for 33 years...maybe I should let him have it. That didn't sound right!

Interesting to read of all the accomplished DH's here! My DH's work is in retail finance, but I dare not say more!
